Definitely a small chair, but perfect for my needs. The chair was easily put together (little bit of elbow getting the cushion in the right place). The core of the chair is metal (the support post), the seat plate that holds on the cushion is metal, there is a metal wheel base the wheels connect to, and the rest is plastic/mesh. I am impressed with it. The cushion is pretty firm, and is about 2.5 inches thick. The arm rests are not adjustable, but my desk easily accommodates the chair (the armrests raise about 7.5 inches from the top of the cushion). The space between the arm rests is about 18 inches. The chair cannot be made without the armrests unless you're looking for a stool. The armrests wrap around the back of the mesh back and connect it to the seat.

I just purchased this chair and it arrived yesterday. It is very comfortable and functions as expected. It meets my needs perfectly. I wanted to take a moment to speak about the assembly process because I was concerned after reading so many comments complaining about the complexity in performing this task. I was able to assemble this chair in a matter of 15 minutes! Here are some tricks to consider: 1. There is a link to an assembly demonstration on the Amazon page. Look at how the gentlemen is performing the task and follow it exactly and you will have quick results as well 2. I followed the instructions including using the packaging box as a work platform. I think this is key because it allows you to position the back and seat on a level surface while assembling the arms, etc. 3. I have a ratchet type screwdriver that works with "drill" bits. I found the bit that corresponded to the allen wrench provided in the screw packet and used that in lieu of the wrench. I think this made the process much easier. Bottom line: easy assembly and a great chair for the price!

I spent about a week looking through Amazon to find a new desk chair before deciding on this one. For students, I'd highly recommend this chair. It's more expensive then what most students would buy, and initially, the quality seems comparable. But the comfort is definitely not. I study at my desk for 4-6 hours a day and honestly feel as if this is one of the more comfortable chairs I've owned. The back breathes well and it can be adjusted more than cheaper, ergonomic mesh chairs. If you're looking for an office seat, I think this chair can go a long way compared to the price of executive chairs, but I'd still go with the latter. Sure, you can spend $200-$300 and get a desk chair that is of better quality and comfort. But if you're spending $100-$150, I believe this chair is of the same quality and comfort, but much cheaper. As for the folks noting the difficulty of assembling this chair, reviews as such are a red herring to me. Assembly took me 30 minutes at the most without use of the instructions. With so few parts, assembly really is common sense. All in all, Price: 5 Comfort: 5 Quality: 4 Durability: 4

For the money, this is an excellent chair. It really is ergonomic and feels good on my back. The arms and chair back are made of durable plastic. The bottom legs are made of steel; so is the underside adjustment part and handle. The only thing is that it came with a wrench and it was hard to turn. I wish I could have used a regular Philips screwdriver to put it together. It took less than 1/2 hour to put together. I hope it lasts a long time. Might be ordering another one. I would definitely recommend this chair.

Long term use: So far so good. The back plastic flare for support snapped off over time, but I lean back a lot so I wasn't expecting that to last. Mesh back has held up against my high wear and tear very well, no ripping or give in the construction yet. Cushion on bottom was always a little thin for my taste, but I tend to sit for longer periods between getting up. Worst case, I can always use a pillow or eventually reupholster the seat bottom to my liking. Only light gripe is the material for the elbow pads. I understand that it's the same material on the rest of the chair for simplicity/cost's sake, but it's a bit rough on elbows and forearms if your hands move a lot. Thankfully, the upholstered panels are just snap-in and removeable, so you can always just replace that material with something more smooth or soft, depending on your liking.

I was excited to get the chair but also kinda apprehensive about putting it together. The chair arrived with excellent instructions and all the little parts and pieces in this kind of blister pack that made sure none of the screws rolled away and got lost forever. I got the chair rolling in record time. I'm not handy or smart but the chair made me look like a genius. Oh and the chair is comfy and attractive.

Awesome chair for $50 dollars. In the past I have spent hundreds on a desk chair trying to find the perfect one for me. I am five feet tall and it is hard to find a desk chair that contours to a short person spine, AND be able to touch the floor. This is by far my most favorite desk chair ever. The seat is black fabric, there is a section of cloth area on the arms, and the back is sturdy and not flimsy. It took me about five minutes to put together.

I have ordered two of these, one to replace a rather uncomfortable plastic wicker chair and the other to replace a task chair that was on its last legs. It doesn't have some of the bells and whistles of some of the more expensive chairs I have used but it is perfectly satisfactory for long periods of time. I would say that it's hard to beat at the price but there's only one other chair at this price point as far as I know.

Needed this for my new office job, needed a good chair for my back. This came so freaking fast, and was the easiest thing to out together. If you’re not good with putting things together, have no fear this isn’t the easiest thing. Came in like 6 pieces, small simply bolts and an Allan key. I literally can’t even put together a lamp shade on a lamp but I could do this. It’s super computer too. I saved $30 also. Was gonna get a cheap good chair at my local Walmart, but the cheapest one thatloterally wasn’t Barbie chair was $60.

I purchased this chair to replace a leather one my cats shredded. I'm a 78-year-old woman and I had no problem putting it together. I did need help tightening the screws because I have arthritis in my hands. I did not need the video. It's easy to put together. I find it very comfortable. I have spinal stenosis and the back of the chair fits my back in just the right place to give me good support. If you are a large person, say, over 225 pounds, the seat may not be wide enough for you, but it's great for me.
