The best Xbox 360 bundle
I have been using this since May 18, and it is my first Xbox 360 since the very first, Red Ring of Death-plagued, 360s were released. I am extremely impressed with this console. The paint job they did is just gorgeous, but you don't spend much time looking at the paint. The controllers match the console, and the sounds for the power and eject buttons are great, but usually too faint to really hear. Gears of War 3 is excellent, and incredibly cinematic with great visuals. For the price I paid for this bundle, it was cheaper than buying things separately, and that, to me, is a good deal...plus I have a great looking limited edition console. The only issue, if this is really an issue, is that it seems to run a little hot. It's not as loud as the original 360s...luckily. I would say though that it runs just as hot.

Xbox 360 S Model: Worth an Upgrade!
This product replaced an Xbox 360 Elite. This is the 4th Xbox 360 I've owned and I've never re-purchased a gaming console so much. Only one of the four died by the red ring of death but Microsoft was great in replacing it. I have no attachment to the Gears of War franchise, but rather wanted the larger hard drive and of course the new S model. PROs: QUIET. The old 360s sounded like jet engines taking off. SMALLER. Somehow Microsoft found a way to pack it all in a smaller box, taking up less room on the entertainment shelf. INTERNAL WIRELESS. Now I don't get soaked by having to purchase a wireless adapter separately. EXTRA GAME & CONTROLLER. I remember the days when consoles came with a game & extra controller. This bundle takes me back those long-lost days. MEGA HARD DRIVE. 320gb! STYLE. The red & black skulls make this machine look mean & cool. POWER & DISC EJECT BUTTON UPGRADE. The switches on the console itself no long have to be pushed in, just run your finger over them & they react. CONs: None at this time. NOTE: Every improvement is better than the previous generation of Xbox 360. To be honest, I use the Playstation 3 ten times more often for Blu-Rays, NETFLIX & gaming. The NETFLIX on the Xbox dashboard just isn't as good. However, I still support this product for two reasons: Left 4 Dead & Halo series.

Beautiful Machine
I think the mass of drooling reviews for Gears of War 3 speak for themselves, so I'm going to focus on this console. Beautifully painted in Gears' iconic crimson, it's a great tribute to the series. As one of Microsoft's new models, it's much quieter than the first generation Xbox 360s and a bit smaller. No complaints about the important hardware; Microsoft's definitely figured out what they're doing. The only thing I can nitpick is that the speaker for the custom sound effects is pitiful, and they are only activated when the physical buttons on the console are used. Also, make note that these new consoles apparently only come with the old RCA composite cable, as opposed to the better component cables once included. Otherwise, go for it!

Great upgrade from my old console
I had been rocking a Xbox 360 Elite model that I purchased shortly after that model had come out, so it was at least 4-5 years old. Nothing was wrong with it (still worked like a champ!) but I'm a huge Gears fan and had been eyeing the new slim model Xbox for a while so it was a perfect fit. Operates EXACTLY like the normal black slim model with the exception of the sounds the console makes upon start-up/shut-down and when opening/closing the disc tray. The crimson omen design is super slick. Not some stick on vinyl or anything cheap, it's super crisp and looks phenomenal. Love that it just says Gears of War instead of Gears of War 3 (more timeless). I've been using the controllers since the game's launch date (Sept of 2011) and the design looks exactly like the day I got them, no wear at all. Recommended for big Gears fans who want to upgrade their console.

nice bundle for great price
I really like this bundle a lot especially since Gears is my favorite series. I was surprised that the console is a darker red thou not like in the pictures where it looks red its more on the maroon side. The sound it makes when u turn it on is from the main menu song in gears games and the sound the disc drive makes is the sound in the campaign that lets you know you cleared all the enemies. Its good to finally have an xbox that doesn't make as much noise as my old style one which was so loud I couldn't take it anymore plus it used to heat my room up. It does still make some noise when playing a game from the disc that is not installed so its not whisper quiet like some say but when you install the game to the hard drive it is quiet. Update: I had to return my console to amazon because it started to make a strange chirping noise when a game disc was spinning sounded like a fan problem. Amazon was great and sent me a brand new one which works great but it seems to have a louder disc drive when running a disc from the drive so I'm a little disappointed about this wish I could return this one too but I doubt amazon would let me return another one just because the disc drive is slightly louder.

Great option for an upgrade!
So I bought this because I have been rockin' the older 360 Elite for a while now and thought since I love Gears this 360 was the perfect opportunity to upgrade to the newer version. Comes with the 320GB hard drive which is just crazy big, for me at least, the graphics on the thing are killer and look very well done, nice texture and detail work. I have read another review questioning the quality of the controller but I am not sure where they are coming from because mine look very durable and are put together just right. The custom Gears of War sounds are pretty sweet but would be better if they were just a touch louder. Of course the game is amazing. All in all this is a solid well put together offering with some really cool features and if I were to recommend an upgrade it would be to this machine. Awesome 360 Microsoft!

New 360
Just adding to the 5 stars for it really. First off, packaging is nice. Everything is compartmentalized making it very efficient use of space. There doesn't really seem to be any empty, unused space in the box meaning that it's "green" in a way. The box is sturdy though making sure to house it's contents protectively. The finish is nice and shiny and the colors very vivid. Next, the contents. A copy of the standard edition of Gears of War 3, 2 Gears of War 3 themed controllers (with 2 batteries for each controller), a Gears of War 3 themed, slim, Xbox 360 console, composite cables, power brick and a black Xbox 360 headset. A standard copy of the Gears 3 game is most definitely acceptable, but a limited edition version of the game with the limited edition console makes more sense in my opinion. Inside the game case were some Gears of War 3 stickers, the game, 2 codes; one for Adam Fenix multiplayer character and the other for the Infected Omen weapon skins as well as the "Instruction Booklet". The "Instruction Booklet" is one page, folded in half. Its content is the controls to the game with a picture of the 360 controller as its main imagery. Not much there, but I guess it's once again being "green" by having practically no content. I'll leave reviews of the game up to the people who are doing that, but my two cents is that if you liked Gears 1 or 2 or both, then you'll be happy with 3. If you haven't played either before, as long as third person shooters are your thing, you'll like it as well. The two Gears of War 3 controllers are very nice. I guess the new controllers Microsoft is selling now have a modifiable directional pad. You twist it around and it changes how the D-pad feels; either more like a + symbol or like the original 360 D-pad. I kinda like the + symbol myself. Oh, plus the D-pad is chrome on these Gears controllers. The surface is smooth to the touch (like a piano) where the face buttons are and has some texture on the bottom half (the side where your your fingers go). Just like any Xbox 360, wireless controller, these have great range. The Gears 3 graphics on them are pretty much the same as what is on the console itself, but that's a good thing as I find it very appealing. The controllers are already synced up to the console too making set up that much easier. Speaking of the console, it's quite sexy. I upgraded from a Modern Warfare 2 edition to this one and there are a few things I am enjoying right off the bat. First off, if you still have the older 360, the slims in general are quieter. If you copy the games to the HDD, then it's almost silent....very nice! Also, with this console also comes the Gears 3 sounds. When you touch the On/Off Power button directly on the console, you will hear a little sound bite from the Gears games (if you've played any of them before, it should sound familiar). Also, when you touch the Open/Close button directly on the console, you'll hear a different sound. The only thing I have found to be an issue with the sound is the built in speaker in the system that plays them is cheap or in a bad spot in the console. When the sound comes out, the system itself or the speaker rattles a little bit making the sounds come out slightly distorted (picture having a radio up to loud). FYI, when turning the console on or off or when opening or closing the tray using the controller, the sounds do not play. The 320GB HDD is more than enough room for all your stuff and can hold plenty of games burned to the HDD if that's your thing. There are more USB ports on the backside of the console too (I think there are 3 or 4 on the back and 2 in the front). I generally don't use the USB ports on my 360's for anything, but the fact there are more is a plus. There's an HDMI port in the back if you can use it, but you'll have to purchase your own HDMI cable (you can find them really cheap on Amazon btw). Wireless networking is built right into this thing so you don't have to go out and purchase an additional adapter to go wireless. And just in case you missed my comment earlier, the same graphics and smooth finish on the controller is also on the console itself. As for the remaining contents, they are pretty much self explanatory. Overall, I think right now the price is justified considering what you are getting. The only thing that kind of ticks me off is that it took Microsoft so long to get the 360 right. Reports of RROD have fallen (at least from what I've seen and read online)and the console seems to be at its peak in performance and reliability. If you haven't purchased a 360 before, now is the time and getting this edition of the console is a safe bet. PROS: 1) Gears of War 3 graphics are nicely done. 2) Gears of War 3 sounds. 3) 2 controllers versus 1 (with batteries and synced) 4) Copy of Gears of War 3 (with DLC codes) 5) The Slim 360 is way better than its previous predecessor. 6) 320GB Hard Drive. CONS: 1) Gears of War 3 themed sounds come out a little distorted (maybe it was just my console too). 2) Gears of War 3 LE should have been included (this is more of a personal preference and I can understand if the packaging didn't allow for it to fit or if they would have lost money on the deal, just saying....)

All my friends are jealous.
I pre-ordered this and got it the day it came out. The console and controllers are beautiful and nothing was damaged. The only problem I have had is with the left joystick sticking occasionally on both controllers. Other than that, the console works perfectly still, a year and a half later. I still haven't used much of the hard drive and I have over twenty-five movies and a few games, including Skyrim, downloaded. Plenty of space. I use a wifi network and that works perfectly as well, even on multiplayer games. I also use it to stream music, you tube, and for netflix and amazon prime. Works perfectly. The sounds it makes when you turn it on or off and use the eject button are pretty neat as well. I kind of laugh when I hear the sounds that other XBOXs make. Not nearly as epic as this console. Oh and all my friends are jealous of my sexy console and consistently threaten to steal it, which of course, won't happen, because I will defend my GOW3 console with my life! It is one of my most precious possessions.

A Great Gift Surprise!
Well, I ordered this for my 16 yr. old nephew for Christmas. My sister has been unemployed for over 2 years,so she could'nt affored anything for him this year.Well not wanting my nephew to have a sucky Christmas, I got this sweet system for him. The look on his face was more than worth the price of the console when he unwrapped the box.He was speechless, and I do believe he teared up a bit! I knew almost immediantly what it meant to him. This was one of the highlights of our family's opening gifts this year for sure. Ordered it here on Amazon and got it 2 weeks before Christmas. I must confess though I could not resist sneeking a peek at this uber cool 360 after it arrived, but thats our little secret!

Absolutely Awesome
I bought this to replace my old Xbox 360 elite which was running out of hard drive space. I have to say it was completely worth it. The Gears of War game was amazing. You got a $40 credit for pre-ordering, Savage Kantus for pre-ordering, Adam Fenix, the Infected Omen weapon pack, 2 Gears Inspired controllers, a headset, and the console which has 320gb of memory. I love the wifi for it to, it runs faster than my ps3 slim on wifi, and faster than my Elite did wired. The open button custom sound can be a little difficult to hear, and the open button is extremely sensitive, the day after I got it I propped my feet up on the stand my xbox was on and hit the button, luckily I hadn't done anything on the game I was playing. The power button sound is very clear and audible. The system runs very quiet, but very hot. It runs a lot hotter after 30 min of play than my Elite did after 3 or 4 hours of play, but it hasn't shut itself off even after hours and hours of playing. The controllers are smooth and actually painted, not a sticker. The battery pack is black and not red, and if your smart you'll go buy the black plug and play recharge kit, and no one could even tell. The game is wildly better than the other 2. Campaign seems to have some differences in the gameplay, which took me 30 min or so to get used to. Beast mode is extremely addicting, but the maps seem to play a factor at how difficult the enemies are, me and a friend played on 1 map and beat all 12 rounds in 30 min, then tried it on another map, same difficulty, and couldn't get past round 2. I haven't used the headset, because I have a wireless Halo Reach headset I use. I could go on and on about this console, but I'd rather go play some games on my console rather than stay on here. If you get it you won't be disappointed.
