I had this same model for 5 years. I used it about once a week to shave my head and beard. It started to dull and I had broken a couple of the clips from dropping it. I loved it so much I bought the exact same model. The battery life is very good. I can get a few head shaves without recharging. As the battery drains, it does not impact the power of the clippers. It will simply stop when it’s completely drained. The second set of clippers is nice for doing tight areas like around the ears. The pouch it comes in is nice and convenient. I love that it is cordless.

I've made a huge mistake buying this clipper. That mistake was NOT buying this years ago...!!! I had been getting a short 0A buzz cut for over 10 years and recently went to a 000. That close a cut requires a stylist to have care and finesse on any gentle skin on the scalp. Going to the local Supercuts for years afforded me countless scheduling conflicts with my preferred stylist only to once find me at the mercy of a flock of seagulls nose pierced skinny jean wearing EMO newbie who'd take the edge of the blade as close to my skull cap just short of removing my flesh...translation very MUCH pain. My brother who has used a Wahl for years buzzing his own head often suggested me getting my own Wahl clipper which I shunned. As Supercuts increased their buzz cut pricing to nearly the same price as a person with a full head of hair I began to see the light. BIG mistake.....??? Yea...I should have done this years ago. I've used this cordless Wahl clipper for 3 weeks now and find using it every Sunday affords me a fresh, clean looking cut every Monday at work. That $18 plus dollars I spent at Supercuts every 2-3 weeks now can be better spent elsewhere. If your hesitate like I was for years to buzz your own cut....get this CLIPPER. It will be the best money you spent on your head EVER.....!!!

I cut my own hair- crew with a tight fade. I’ve had this clipper since 2012. And it’s still going strong. I replaced the blades once in the past 6 years but it still cuts great and holds a charge perfectly. I cut my hair once a week and charge this maybe once every three months. Best clipper I’ve purchased

Barbers use Wahl clippers, which speaks to the brand's reputation. If you're a guy needing a haircut every 2-3 weeks and are thinking about giving yourself a haircut, these are great. They essentially pay for themselves after 1-2 uses. The battery does need to be fully charged before use. I didn't do this once, and they gave out halfway through cutting my hair. I think that is at odds with the claim about battery life as advertised here, which is the reason for 4 stars. it's nice not having the cord, but I can't speak to whether corded clippers have any difference in power. These do the trick anyway and run well for 45 minutes (it's taking me a bit of time to cut my own hair) when fully charged. It's a great deal especially when you factor in everything that comes with the kit. Recommended!

Awesome. I had a Conair corded clipper before this, this feels much more high quality. The blades are much nicer, no hair pulling, super clean cutting, I only have to go over each area once as opposed to several times with the Conair. Battery-life is good, I haven't pushed it but charge lasts quite a while. Price is worth it for just the hair clippers, the smaller clippers are an awesome freebie. I use it for trimming facial hair, it cuts hair down to a short stubble with no issues.

This is a awesome product. Being able to cut the cord; while cutting hair, makes it very easy to use. Product is a high quality set. My wife has been cutting my hair throughout the last half of my military career and into my retirement. It is almost impossible to find a barber these days. This clipper does not pull or leave stray hairs. It cuts on first pass and continues cutting. My wife was able to cut my hair a couple of times before it needed recharged. Charging the unit is a quick and painless process. I use the little clippers for my beard. I have used several clippers, designed for beards, but none compare to these professional clippers.

ANOTHER EDIT AND UPDATE ... as of August 2019 (2 months from now) trimmer will be 4 years old and is still working great, my wife used it today to cut my hair and my son's hair :) YET ANOTHER EDIT AND UPDATE - well, Wahl's customer service department just got back to me and advised me they're sending me a rechargeable trimmer on top of the battery operated trimmer - so to replace the trimmer that might be having issues I get TWO trimmers to replace it :) ... And as I mentioned before the most important part - the hair clippers themselves - are still working fantastic after 3 years of steady use. Add that to this amazing customer service on Wahl's part - they basically now have a customer for life :) .. One thing I should point out though (although it's possible the trimmer is so well designed that this might not even be necessary but to be on the safe side...).. look, I realize we're all busy people and none of us bother to read instructions :P .. but in this case I really think you should... as the instructions recommend, I faithfully oil the clippers once per month ... what I found to be cheap and effective (so much so that the bottle is still practically full years later after my purchase of it) is the " Zoom-SPOUT Sewing Machine Oil Oiler ~ 4FL. OZ." (amazon asin number B00BYCKTW2, do a search by that asin number in the search box and it should pop right up). FURTHER EDIT AND UPDATE - this is why I strongly recommend contacting a manufacturer's customer service department and at least giving them a chance to fix the problem before slamming them with a negative review. I googled wahl's customer service phone number - even though the trimmer (note the clipper is still working great over 3 years later, it's the battery operated trimmer I'm talking about here) is over 3 years old, since there's a 5 year warranty Wahl simply took my word for it that I have the product - didn't even ask for an invoice to be emailed to them - and is mailing out a replacement trimmer as the current one still works but is now a bit painful to use (not sure why maybe the blades got dull? Rep I spoke to on the phone says it might be a defective model) .. on top of that as long as I'm within the 5 year warranty rep says they will do a free upgrade to the rechargeable clipper if there are any problems with the replacement they are sending out...so big thumbs up for their customer service department :) EDIT AND UPDATE - still working great close to 3 years after purchasing it :) Others have covered this hair clipper's performance in great detail so not much new to add on my part other than I'm quite happy with it.. we've had it since late August 2015, as of now (November 2015) the clipper is still working great, my wife uses it to cut both my and my son's hair ... I've been putting oil on it after each use as per other reviewer's recommendations ..... I'm pretty good at updating reviews so if you see this review even years later after I've posted it assume that the clipper is still working quite well :) ..

I read the comments from other people and was a little hesitant, but already owning a corded Wahl I knew it would be a good purchase! Got it Thursday and charged it, put it away and used it today, worked perfectly AND I was having so much fun ( I decided to go a little shorter) So I actually did 2 haircuts today and IF the clippers heated up it was so trivial that I didn't notice it! I don't know if others expect too much or what but I had no problems. One complaint was the Lithium Ion battery BUT I've got Lithium Ion batteries on other things and they seldom need recharging. I love this thing

Really like its cordless already used it twice really like it, only thing wish it can be quieter it is little noisey side, the other thing wish the little one was chargeable also but needs two AA battery, other then that cuts really good no pulling or nothing don't even feel when cutting hair, I Charged it when I first got it, lights up blue then when finish charging light turns off, comes with nice carry case so far two cuts with one charge if I can get at least 3 cuts for per charge will be great looks like it will I used twice and still gots enough power on the other side has good ion battery in the big clipper box says will keep charge up to a year if not in use that's great if I was to buy again if I needed to I would, would I recommend it to friend or family yes I would.

Update 12/5/2016 Still very pleased with these clippers. The battery charge holds for a number of uses. Lightweight and easy to use. Absolutely love not having a cord. No issues. Use for my son every three weeks and for my husband every 6 weeks. Cuts easily through my sons very thick head of hair. I have only used this twice so far. Once on very thick hair and once on thinking hair. I can't find any negatives on it so far. I love it cordless and will never go back to one with a cord again. The power of these clippers was excellent. Both hair cuts were done in a fraction of the time and of course part of that was due to the sharp blade but the other part was due to not having to mess with the cord. I was worried the cordless would have difficulties going through the thick hair as even the corded ones did and would take many do overs in the same area to get it all cut but I did not have any problems at all. Battery life seems excellent. It felt comfortable in my hand and was not too heavy. I am glad I went with this one and would recommend it to others. I have cut my husband and sons hair with clippers for the past 17 years.
