A new era in gift-giving has arrived...

My stepdaughter says Amazon gift cards are THE Thing to give her children for any occasion. I used to go to great lengths to buy them the best books for their age ranges, which was a daunting task at best. Now, they can buy whatever they want (hopefully something I'd be happy about, though really it's more important that THEY be happier than me!) It couldn't be easier to buy and send these cards. I wonder whether they're not too impersonal, whether we have lost the art of conscious gift-giving...of meaningful presents to our beloveds. But then I think of the number of truly awful presents my relatives used to send me, and I'm grateful that this option exists now for the next generations. It doesn't get much easier than this...whether it's 'meaningful' remains to be seen.

Fixing A Christmas Mistake

This year I bought everything on what I thought was my son’s Wish List. When he opened the first gift he looked at me and asked why I bought him the gist he just opened, I told him it was on his wish list. It soon became apparent that I bought all of the gifts on another man’s wishlist that had the same name as my son...I ruined Christmas for two people. Thankfully, everything was Prime purchases and refunds were swift.

I mean what's not to love? Got a couple to give out as Christmas gifts and they arrived I think in a day. I like that they come fixed in a card w/envelope and you don't have to worry about buying those things as well. People say gift cards are generic gifts, and they may be, but whatever, I would want this, thanks!

Great Gift Option

I was searching for a way to give an Amazon Gift Card as a wedding shower present. In this case I thought it a little tacky to print my own, and I was out of colored ink. I found this option on the Amazon website. I was able to find an appropriate card, and as a Prime member the greeting card with gift card attached was delivered to my home the next day. I will definitely take advantage of this gift option again in the future.

Always a crowd pleaser, but can you do $18 and $36 for bar and bat mitzvahs?

We love giving Amazon gift cards to friends and family for their birthdays. Small request: can you do them in multiples of $18 for bar and bat mitzvahs? Even just $18, $36 and $180 would be enough. In Judaism, the letters in the Hebrew word for "life" have a numeric value of 18 (Hebrew letters are associated with a number, kind of like Roman numerals). So it's traditional to give gifts of $18 or $36 (a "double life," so to speak) to commemorate rites of passage.

Amazon advertised "purchase a Fit bit and get a free ...

Amazon advertised "purchase a Fit bit and get a free $50 giftcard" so i did it. Short story, I paid for the free gift card due to some technicality. After three previous, ascerted by Amazon reps, technicalities didn't stick, I finally got tired on about the fourth possible reason and just quit trying. This is not a shade throwing message; at least not a conventional one. Thank you, Amazon! Your "fine print" broke the spell on me. I can now take my little money and save it. We still have a relationship but we gonna be healthier about it, babe.

Pink Flowers is Better than the bookmarks for graduation

Exactly as expected. Gift card itself is attractive. I wish the Amazon emblem wasn't front-and-center, but it's okay. Perhaps it helps make the gift understandable right away. (No - it's not going to say the amount. You'll have to do that or just trust that the person can look it up.) I considered the bookmarks, frankly, since this was for graduation, but anyone with a pair of scissors could have a couple nice bookmarks from this if that's what they really wanted. It's got more "to" it than the other gift card options Amazon offers, with excellent quality, slick cardstock.

Fantastic idea, especially for multiple gifts of different denominations

These gift cards are fantastic. They come with a greeting card so you don't have to select and purchase a separate card. The cards themselves are cute and good quality - printed by American Greetings. I also purchased a few cards in gift "bags" as shown in the photo. Since there are different styles to choose from you can choose a different card style for different denominations. Rather than keeping track of which gift cards are for $50, $100, etc via serial numbers (which would be a pain), you can simply choose a different style. This concept is great and makes gift-giving easy, convenient and fast. In the past I gave cash or checks, which took more time and had to be reconciled. These cards allow you to purchase in bulk and address/give easily. LOVE them!!

Really nice and convenient!

I was looking to get a convenient gift for an 18 year old and this was so easy! The gift card comes nicely in the card and in a delivery envelope, but you still get an envelope to gift the card. The happy birthday card I ordered was really nice and considering it was basically 'free' with the $20 gift card I bought.So nice you don't have to go and buy a card/envelope for the gift card. So easy! Thanks amazon!
