Very Complete!
Installed easily. Intuitive interface makes it quick and easy to learn with great tutorials to get you through any tough spots you may encounter. Emailed the seller with a couple questions and they were quick to respond with the answers I needed. This program is loaded with more than enough features for homeowners wishing to create and maintain a thorough, detailed inventory of their possessions.

This is one great software
I just received this software yesterday and already have entered a lot of household items already. The instruction videos are excellent and I did watch the first one. But everything is so intuitive, I haven't gone back to watch the others. For the past several years, I have been using another software, HomeManage 2011. It was working OK but then I started having problems and finally it went into 30 day trial mode. I alerted the company about the problem but they never responded even after countless emails over a three month period. So now I am re-entering all the data manually as this software does not import from HomeManage. That is one feature I wish they had but can understand that it probably wouldn't work. This is actually enjoyable to enter the data and easy to navigate. It is feature loaded but you don't have to use them all...just what you want.

Home Inventory Pro 2011
I initially liked this program. However, I developed a problem when I tried to edit an item, and after three different request, they have not had the good manners to even acknowledge my requests. NO RESPONSIBILITY TO THEIR CUSTOMERS AT ALL. I will not buy another thing from this outfit. If they do not even have the curteousy to answer an E-Mail, then I want nothing to do with them.

Excellent multi-featured software
Home Inventory Pro provides the functionality to develop a detailed inventory of virtually every type of physical asset one finds in a home including images of sales receipts and pictures of each item. Users need a image scanner and the ability to import picture images into the software, i.e. have pictures already available on the computer or from a camera. Data entry into the software can be time consuming. However, there are features that ease the impact of this issue. Excellent menus to provide access for entry of inventory items and reports. If the insurance companies won't accept the resulting inventory, you need to get a new insurance company.

Inventory is still a lot of hard work, but necessary!
After living a long time, you acquire a lot of stuff, good and bad. Where do you start? Once you have done an inventory of items that are not disposable, decisions are easily made on liquidation. This program is brought into play at this time. You cannot control what you cannot count. The program provides a clear vision on what you own. I used a digital camera to first make photos of all items to be inventoried. Then backtracked with the description, location, data and values. Having photos is essential in the event of a fire or natural disaster. This is a tedious job, but when completed, it only needs fine tuning. I would recommend the program to a friend.

Tedious work but good results
This Home Inventory program provides several very helpful data-collection screens, an effective database, and a reporting module. It may take me a few years before I will have entered most of our major possessions -- after 25 years of marriage. The Amazon on-line record of purchases provides an excellent resource.

Very pleased with it's user interface and item data options
Very pleased with it's user interface and item data options. It makes doing a home inventory a breeze. With the ability to attach photos, per item, you can augment the items description in the detail form(s). There is no doubt what you are describing. It also provides an opportunity to provide an items provenance from purchase or gift received to place, dates and comments. It is a complete software package. I highly recommend it.

Great for Hobbies and Even Small Businesses
I often use the multi thousand dollar Telxon inventory/POS system and have also used many others, including Intuit/Quickbooks that ties to their merchant accounts and software. Believe it or not, when you couple this outstanding little software program with a compatible bar code scanner (best I've found is: USB Automatic Barcode Scanner Scanning Barcode Bar-code Reader with Hands Free Adjustable Stand (Black) -- it works perfectly with both this software and web based bar code data bases) you have a wonderful system for under $100! Just like the living cookbook from this same little group, there are a ton of database features. If you're doing a hobby/collection or a small store, you can change the "room" designator to bins or shelves, for example, and easily find any item with a fast sort. I have, so far, created a number of separate "collection" databases for selling on ebay and craig's, from crafts to a knife collection, to butterflies, beanie babies, wooden carved animals, and many more. If you're an Amazon seller, this is perfect for keeping track of those tools, books, etc. you are selling, and you can be certain that your ecommerce adjunct doesn't get you in trouble with missing inventory by tracking it on this system. It is fairly intuitive to use if you are familiar with any dbms type system, from excel to quickbooks, etc. It's not as hard to learn as quickbooks online and not as easy as the recipe program-- a bright high school kid can get it in a couple hours. Note that it is standalone, you can't port the underlying VBA or other flat files to excel or quickbooks, but as a non integrated inventory tracker, it's the best I've found at any price. The ones that tie to POS, billing, invoicing etc. are far buggier than this little gem. Will crash with small RAM and big files of items, but easy to recover. If you're planning on a LOT of items, use a computer with a minimum of 4 gig of RAM.

Very useful and easy
I have found Home Inventory Pro 2011 very useful for itemizing our posessions. The user interface is quite intuitive and easy to use. Setup was a snap. I would defnitely recommend this product for anyone looking to set up and maintain a home inventory. Only receommendation would be an interface to allow scanning of documents directly into your inventory instead of having to use an external application and attaching the files.

Very good product
Was disappointed when Intuit stopped adding home inventory to Quicken. This one is easy to use and keeps all of the stuff you will need in case of theft, fire, flood etc. Your insurance company will be very happy to have this info. Just be sure to print it out and keep it at a different location in case your home is destroyed.
