Kinda makes this useless as I need to see what is behind me ...
Great camera during the day but tough to see anything on the screen at night. Kinda makes this useless as I need to see what is behind me when backing up both daytime and night. 2-stars because camera works in daylight. Update: Thousandshores Inc has contacted me regarding the issue and are sending me a new camera. We shall see how it works. What great customer service!!! I will update again after the replacement camera is installed. Update #2: I received the replacement camera. What a difference. Can see clearly now - day or night. And what customer service. An absolute pleasure dealing with them. I have never experienced this level of concern for a customer (me) before. Thank you so much. I imagine the first camera I received works with 99% of cars but just didn’t with my configuration. The new one is absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend this product.

Great camera
The cameras work great when you have the right stuff to go with it. The directions were very minimal at best. For somebody that's never done it before I kind of had to do some extra research to make sure I was doing it right. But this product is very good, I just bought some Wireless transmitters to go with it which was dumb on my part because they didn't work. But this product gets 5 stars

Great Deal
The picture is very clear, but kind of flashes a bit when we first put it in reverse. For $10 (we used $10 rewards points), I cant complain. My husband is very happy with this addition to his truck! We had it installed on a 2011 Chevy Silverado with an aftermarket Sony XAV-AX100 stereo receiver. The backup guides can be turned off on the camera and also on the stereo. At first we had double guidelines. After messing with both, we realized we preferred the guidelines that the camera has. Pictured are the guidelines from the camera itself.

Couldn't ask for any better
So I'll start off by saying that this isn't the first camera I've used or installed. It came with enough cable to install properly in my wagon and works flawlessly. I live in AK which is not the most forgiving environment, to say the least. This camera gets wet, dirty, and then freezes. Down to -20 degress this winter. I haven't had a problem with it once. The night camera performance is what you would expect, Distances over 25-30 feet become dim but whats right behind you is fairly clear to see even in pitch black. For the price, you absolutely CANNOT beat this camera. If my opinion on this ever changes I will adjust this review accordingly. For now....I couldn't be happier.

Sear h for something else, avoid this camera!
VERY upset with this camera, and company. Camera started out working great, then all of the sudden it started messing up and now it stopped working altogether. I ordered this on December 7th and installed it Christmas eve, and as on today (01/06/2017) less than a month it's no longer working. Item says not returnable if you try to return it, I'll update after I hear from the company or amazon. ***update*** the company contacted me through email and sent a replacement out. The lines where still there, but overall it worked. Follow the directions and put the filtering circuit in and it should clear up.

Worth $20
When I bought this camera, I made sure to read many of the reviews. A lot of complaints were geared towards poor visibility. Perhaps it wasn't added until after complaints accumulated, but the manufacturer's instructions state to seal the camera. We popped it off the bracket and ran a line of clear goop around the casing. We also made sure to take off the protective film off the camera. We hooked this camera up to a Pioneer AVH-290bt and for a $20 camera, the picture is well enough. If you want HD quality, pay more money. For $20 bucks, it delivers what is required of it. I have added a picture taken at 9:15 pm. His car is purple glitter (it's cooler than it sounds 😂), but you can see the flakes in his car and my cat on top. Hopefully, my picture comes up clear for you. ***update*** Nearly 2 years later (Apr 2019) My back-up camera still works with the same quality as when I first bought it.

Best Investment for Hooking Up My Trailer!!
This camera is AWESOME! For a girl who has never had to hook up her own trailers, this has been a life saver to not have to rely on someone to help guide me. A horse trailer isn't something I can just pull over to the ball if I'm off by an inch or two so it has to be a near perfect alignment. The "arm" pieces did block the registration sticker on my license plate, but we just cut it shorter on that side. Also-- if anyone is having issues with the camera being blurry, go wipe off the outside of the lens! I thought mine was messed up after the first time I got the truck washed but it just turned out to be soap dried up on the exterior of the lens.

Nice camera!!
Love, love, love this camera!! Especially at the price point it was when I purchased it (around $20). Provides a very clear picture and is working great so far. This was installed on our 2006 Ford Expedition and it was a lot of work running the wiring. Some modifiations and drilling were necessary too. Neither the power cord or video cable are long enough to reach their intended endpoints but my auto body tech buddy and I added some wire to the power supply and this worked well. I also purchased a 3 foot video cable extension off Amazon for < $5 and this was more then enough to make up the distance I needed to make it to the back side of my new Sony radio/receiver/monitor. I expected that the wiring wouldn't reach so I have no complaints. If you have a vehicle like mine and don't have the personal know how I would seek help running the wiring or have a professional install it as it was time consuming and more involved than I thought it would be.

How did I live without this?
We installed this camera on our vintage, restored 1990 Cadillac deVille and are impressed with it's multiple features at such an affordable price. It works with our newly installed Jensen VX 7012 and shows a broad spectrum behind the car and has 5 colored grids to show how close the car is to another object. We have had the car for 2 years and the camera for two months; I don't know how we ever lived without it! The rear camera offers full confidence that the neighbor's children or the family dog is not behind me as I back up. Thank you for such a fine product at a great price.

5 stars for a $19 camera
For a $19 camera it performs well. The infared night vision works good enough to see objects at night. The detail goes down with the less ambient light you have. In the daylight it has more detail. The picture shows this. Top pic is just the Infared built into the camera and bottom is with my LED backup pods on. The 5 gallon bucket is approximately 15 feet behind the bumper. You can't compare this camera to an OEM built in camera that are easily $500+ they are in a different league obviously. For a $19 buy these work very well. This is on the EDGE CTS2. Simply wire the camera to constant key on 12V power and plug the RCA cable in. If you don't wire it to key on power the CTS2 will not recognize the camera on boot up. Wiring it this way you can automatically switch to the camera whenever you want not just when it's in reverse.
