We have had a saltwater intex above ground pool for 7 summers now. We upgraded our pump from 1500GPH to this 2500GPH pump and let me tell you it is MAGNIFICENT! Not only is it powerful but it's quite. Almost a whisper compared to our smaller unit. VERY PLEASE!

We have an Intex 12x30 metal frame pool. The pump that came with the pool pumps 533 gph which is very weak. I was constantly having to clean the pool. After doing a lot of research on upgrading our pump I decided to go with the 2500 gph pump. I placed my order for this pump on 6/1/15 and I received it the next day! I was shocked it arrived so fast. I opened the box to ensure all parts were there. I was under the impression that the plunger valves were included since I had read previous reviews and questions from people who did get the plunger valves. My box did not have them and when I contacted the seller they told me to call Intex. Intex said that the plunger valves come with the pool kit. I asked how much they cost and she said $7 but they are on back order and they don't know when they will come in. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to use my pump without these valves. After additional research I found that all I needed to do was get two adaptors from Intex. The pool hose fittings are 1.25 and this larger pump has 1.5 hose fittings so I ordered two adaptors off of Intex's website (part # 10722). The cost of shipping was more than the two adaptors but the total price was still half of what I was finding elsewhere. I ordered my adaptors on Tuesday 6/2/15, selected ground shipping and received them Thursday 6/11/15. I figured it would take a few days because it was coming from California. Plunger valves are not necessary but are helpful when it comes to shutting the water off so you can perform maintenance on the pump. I had no issues connecting the new pump using these adaptors. I pointed the water flow to the side to create a cyclone effect. It is so strong compared to the old/ weak pump. I love that there is a timer because I have forgotten to turn our pump off several times in the past. Overall I am very pleased. I highly recommend this pump and seller. Hope this helps.

Compared to the smaller pumps, this was a breeze to set up. Literally screwed in the two ends, put a filter in, and plugged it in. When it filled up, we let the air out using the top valve, and that was it. I'm not sure what 2500GPH is supposed to feel like, but it is definitely much stronger than the old 700GPH we had. To install this pump on our stock tank, we ordered some parts (plunge valves, gaskets, outlet) from Amazon and some from the Intex website directly (might be cheaper than some 3rd party vendors...check pricing! Shipping was fine). Drilled 2 holes, assembled parts, filled pool (and checked for leaks), and the whole system works great. We ordered a 6 pack of filters on here as well. They haven't last that long for us (2-3 weeks) since the pool has been directly under an oak tree in pollen season, without a cover (we're begging for it, right?), but they should start lasting a bit longer in the summertime. Note - Aside from a standard pool net/scoop, we also got the Ryobi pool vac. Works great for a quick cleaning!

I have a 16 by 42 best way pool. The pump that came with didn't move any amount of water and the pool was developing mold. Ordered on a Sunday and was at my door Tuesday morning. Only complaint is that I ordered all the extra special parts people swore I needed. Wrong- wrong wrong. It would of hooked up fine needing nothing! I will send back the connecting valves but I like the open close valve so when I change the filter I can cut off the water supply and not create a huge mess and loss of water.

Received this pump today and got it hooked up. I found out I did not need the adapters that I was led to believe I needed. (fortunately I was able to cancel those before they even shipped) The smaller hoses will slip over the end of the plunger valves allowing the clean hook up from new pump to old hoses. Anyway, this pump is awesome. The older stock 1,000gph pump was pathetic. Took me about an hour to vacuum my 14 foot pool. This new pump had me finished in about 10 minutes. And the increased water movement already helped clean the pool. Well worth the money. I would (and will) recommend this pump to my friends with pools, regardless of the size.

This filter is by far the best cartridge and prolly even better then the sand filter systems they sell considering it does the same flow rate as the big 16 inch .75 hp pump. I wish intex would dump all their other small A cartridge series filters and just up the price a bit on all their pools and include this filter system instead! It runs the skimmer great and the intex pool vac great at same time and circulates the water much more efficiently! This filter is a must have for the 15/18 ft round pools or bigger don’t even waste your time with the included small a 1500gph. Also keep in mind the ratings on these pumps are not system ratings. So the 1500ghp is only the pumps rating meaning only gets like 900-1100 gph in the system tubes and pool. The 2500 does about sale 1900-2100 depending how. Lean your filter is.

If your thinking about upgrading to this pump or you need a new one and your debating this one or the grade level lower one then spend the extra 20.00 and get this one. We turned our old pump on and it was dead so I was going back and forth on getting this one or the original one that's 50.00. I'm so glad I upgraded, not only is this pump much stronger, it is much quieter. also, it came it's a filter so that was a great suprise. I opened my pool with lots of dust, and algae. (We live on a gravel road) and within 4 hours my 8,000 gallon pool was crystal clean. My old pump never managed to get all the dust out. This is a scenario where you definitely get what you pay for. Spend that extra 20.00 and upgrade. You won't be sorry. Photo is from when I first opened my pool and my water was dirty FYI.

How I wish I had bought this the same time I bought the pool...it is only a 14 x48 pool...but the one that came with was tiny useless piece of junk...and I got an alge breakout that I could not get rid of so after hours of research and no telling how many dollars I came to the conclusion that without proper circulation I was wasting my time and money so I bought the 1500 gph...which was somewhat better ...but still wasn't enough...and the 2500 was only 20.00 more ...as one reviewer said may be overkill ...still had the alge problem...the pump still did no circulate well...so finally I sent the 1500 back and bought the 2500....Perfect...is not over kill at all...love the timer ...uses size B filters ..got 2 of the unicel..rinse one use one...will last more than a season...no more cases of junk paper ones...and also got the shutoff valves...what a difference...perfect clear pool ...shutoff valves a dream when changing filter...spend 20.00 more and buy this pump...you owe it to yourself..
