This. Is. Amazing. We recently adopted a dog to go along with our cats. We've never had fleas because the cats are indoor only. Well... That changed and quickly. We used various topical treatments spending lots of money and nothing worked. A friend told me about this and we tried it. IT WORKED! Within 30 min dead fleas were literally falling off our animals onto surfaces! Be warned though, our cats went NUTS about 10 minutes after getting the pill. They were licking, scratching, jumping, bucking, hauling a$$ through the house like it was 3 AM. Turns out, the fleas go nuts as they are dying. So, if you want to kill fleas, and have an entertaining show... Buy this!

We finally found the silver bullet. These work better than anything else we have tried and we have tried every type of repellent and pesticide available over-the-counter. I was extremely reluctant to try an oral product after reading the CDC reports regarding these kinds of treatments. The results were terrifying. Since all of these medications adversely affect the parasites' central nervous system, the obvious answer is to steer clear for the sake of your pet's safety. These tablets, however, act fast but do not stay in your pet's system for an extended period of time. That means if they display any side effects, they're short-lived and you have time to discontinue use before any permanent damage is caused unlike the prescription treatments that stick around for months and even years, turning your pup into a vegetable. So far we have had very positive results after suffering from a major flea infestation. Some sneaky kitties found a hole under our house and themselves and their hitchhikers a home. Before we even realized they were there, we had more fleas than we and our pest control service could handle. Capstar saved us all from losing fur. I highly recommend these in both sizes. We have small, medium and large furry friends and this medication worked perfectly for all three. It's been five days and we are as flea free as a home could be waiting for them all to hatch, bute and be gone. It takes a few weeks for them to come full circle but our four-legends are already healing and regrowing fur at an incredible rate. None of them have displayed any signs of illness, mental or physical so I can honestly say from our experience that this product is probably the safest on the market. Pesticides can irritate my skin and their's but natural repellents just don't stand a chance in some areas. This stuff works for us.

My 14 year old shihtzu has had perpetual flea issues since early summer 2016. Not infestation, but several found on her at a time. She has kidney and heart disease, so I'm extra cautious about what I give her topically and allow her to ingest. After consistently using one well-known topical product, diatomaceous earth sprinkled on all floor surfaces, washing/vacuuming ALL OF THE TIME, nothing was working. Finally I gave Capstart a try, and it really has been such a help for getting ahead of the adult fleas, while I continue to wash/vacuum and bathe my dog to get rid of any residual eggs. I initially used one every other day. The result is immediate - fleas do start falling off within a few hours. They don't die right away, but they are incapacitated. The frequency wasn't enough the first go round, and I probably wasn't consistent enough with the vacuuming to get rid of any eggs that had been laid. So, this final time I gave my dog a pill, waited a few hours, washed her, the bedding, vacuumed. I gave her one more each day for a total of three days. She never showed signs of having difficulty processing the product through her kidneys. And, I'm happy to report that I think we are FINALLY over our flea issues. It helped to have something to kill the egg layers, then take immediate steps to get rid of any eggs. I definitely recommend this product, with the usual caution I would give for any ingested product containing poison.

This works wonders for killing fleas off my cat. He's old and gets sick from certain flea meds. I use these and fleas are all dead in 30 min. I brush him or give him a bath the next day and then give him another in his wet food (if the fleas are bad) I had one roommate who brought fleas into the house (after I made sure my cat was flea free. Thx Allie) and it was BAD. Like wearing plastic bag shoes all around the house bad. We had to professionally spray our house type of bad. But my cat still had a flea problem. Used this in his wet food and the cat (poor baby) felt them crawling around and dying and ran around the house with a freaked out look on his face. 30 min later he laid down and the slowly dying fleas tried to vacate. After an hour my cat was finally able to lay down and sleep without having to scratch every 5 seconds. This product works like a charm.

FIRST: THIS IS NOT A MONTHLY TREATMENT! Some of the reviews do show that people didn't read the full description of the product before purchase and some did not use the product properly after buying it! Yepper, I feel your pain. Fleas are a nightmare for pets and for us! My ALWAYS inside kitties got an infestation. It only takes ONE pregnant female to be beside your front door (thanks, lady who lets her dog run wild everywhere thinking it's cute!), to pop inside your home. And the cycle begins. The eggs are laid ON an animal. Then the eggs fall off as the animal walks/runs around. The eggs must be continuously vacuumed up and disposed of daily for quite a while even after your begin treatment with a monthly approach. They CAN hatch several months later depending on warmth, humidity and so on. THIS IS NOT A MONTLY TREATMENT!!!! But this can give IMMEDIATE relief within a few hours to stop the scratching, biting, creepy feeling your pet is exhibiting. When I could not get the monthly sizes of the monthly dosages for different weight cats, I got this to use until the monthly treatments arrived in the proper dosages. The fleas ON the pet die within a few hours using this. Relief is IMMEDIATE then to the fur biting, scratching, gnawing or whatever your pet might be doing. My cats were absolutely NUTS with misery. Last night, they rested easily for the first time in a week or two! And, therefore, so did I. Now, you can dose with this every day, supposedly, but it is a poison. The problem I have with this CAPSTAR is the incredibly large variance in weight which an animal can have and still take the same dosage! So, a very small cat and a twenty-five pound dog can take this? I wish I could have a pill which is HALF the dosage if my cats weigh no more than twelve pounds! Why so much poison? Anyway, the monthly treatments CAN begin today and seeing how some time has been bought with the almost immediate relief (within four hours for my kitties), I am happy with the purchase. My cats did not go crazy or anything like that. BUT they seemed lethargic and one spit-up twelve hours after the dose and he is NOT a cat to vomit. I can also say that all four cats slept on my bed (yeah, I know, and I washed the bedspread every day after I discovered infestation and am vacuuming the house like crazy!) and I believe the cats gave off a smell resembling insecticide.....I felt a bit nauseated to be honest after several hours up close to them. But at least were no longer in fidgeting, yanking around, scratching, biting fur mode......their livers and my liver, I hope are great filters with no resulting damage...… I read that animal shelters use this when new animals come in, before the animals can perhaps be bathed and so on. This product has its use. But REALLY read the directions. It is a poison taken internally.

One star ratings for this product seem to go like this "Didn't work!" with no mention of their method used. Others state "only worked for one day!" Duh. It says plain as day WORKS FOR ONE DAY ONLY! Another ignorant twit wrote "It's not my home! I have hardwood floors!". So, you're dim enough to think fleas can't infest a home with hard flooring? Do you also sleep in a hardwood bed? Sit on a hardwood couch? Did you realize fleas can fit between hardwood planks and between tiles and in furniture? Here's a real review for the folks who are a little on the dim side or the inexperienced: These work for a total of 24 hours maximum. The effectiveness ends after a day in which the medicine will then stop working. This gives you a window of time to clean. To deflea pets using this product, which kills ONLY ADULT FLEAS for only 24 HOURS, do the following: 1. Purchase and administer pill(s) to pet(s). One pill per pet per day. Just read the packaging directions. 2. Purchase flea shampoo. These pills will not kill eggs left on your pet, you will need to bathe your pet with a pet shampoo that states it will kill flea eggs. 3. Wash your pet, take your time. If you rush through bathing, the shampoo won't have time to work. 4. Purchase and use flea comb. Most of your fleas will be dead. If not, you're going to want to catch them in the comb and either pop em with your nails and/or flush them. It's gross, yes, but you gotta kill living fleas however you can. The pills should help here. Flush all fleas, dead or alive. Be safe, not sorry. 5. Buy flea spray. Raid makes flea spray in a purple can that is HIGHLY effective. Do not spray around pets, do not let pets near treated areas for at least one hour. Follow flea spray directions, be sure to spray your pets favourite rest spots. Do not spray directly on your animal(s)!!! 6. Do laundry. You'll want to wash pet bedding, clothes, your bedding, any fabric laying around like blankets where fleas can hide including towels you dried your pet off with after their bath. 7. Vacuum. If you have carpets or cat trees or other unwashable items where your pet spends time, vacuum those places thoroughly. Make sure to move things and be very thorough. One missed flea can make tons more in no time. 8. Repeat above steps as needed. Why are these pills used if they only work for one day? I will tell you. When you flea bathe a pet, the fleas run to their face. It's dangerous to put flea shampoo on your pets face, like around the eyes, nose, and mouth and that's exactly where the fleas run to. On pets with dark fur, it's hard to even SEE the fleas. These pills, used in tandum with flea bathing and a thorough house cleaning, assure you missed none of the fleas crawling on your pet. It also assures ones that jump back on your pet during cleaning will also die. These pills are cheaper (and safer) than monthly pills of pet insecticides, and more effective than gross topical insectides you will get on your hands petting your cat or dog and that will also get licked off by mutually grooming cats that will get sick from ingesting the topical insecticide. These pills mean you're more likely to achieve in 24 hours what it takes 1-2 weeks to achieve without them, IF YOU ARE SMART AND CLEAN WELL TO PREVENT REINFESTATION. If you are lazy and do not bathe your pet and clean your home, you will waste your money. If you decide to be lazy because you think your home cannot accommodate fleas, you are WRONG. That's where these one-star ratings appear to be coming from. There is no truly lazy way out of flea infestation, but you can cut down your work time and effort by using these pills. For truly insane flea infestations where you walk in and fleas are covering your legs, add a new step 5. Buy flea bombs, one per room, and follow the instructions. Leave the bombs do their work whilest taking all living creatures out of your home for an hour or two. (Even crating your pet and waiting somewhere safe outside for an hour or two will suffice, as long as weather permits.) These pills WORK. But you have to do YOUR PART in making sure all fleas and eggs in your home die. Trust me on this one. I've owned literally dozens of cats and have had to handle some severe infestations. (Leaving my cats to be watched by someone else for a month led to an infestation where standing on my counter couldn't keep them off of me.) Furthur advice: keep cats indoors. Any pet that goes outside is highly likely to bring them in. And moreover, some yards and locations breed higher instances of fleas. They sell flea-killer that you can spray over your yard. It's a great investment for dog owners who have no choice but take their pet outside. Also, fleas can still exist in your home throughout winter without you seeing them and crop up when the weather warms up. Winter is the best time to kill them because they're less active in cold areas. Give 'em heck and keep cleaning. These pills are not a cure-all and were not intended to be, but they do their job and will greatly assist your efforts. Thanks.

we have not had fleas on our animals in over 15 yrs. But this year our dogs must of got them at some point and spread them to our 3 cats. So our most of the house got infested before we knew what was happening. These pills helped clear up the problem along with the flea prevention from the vet. It took 3 doses on each animal over 2 months. and by the 3rd month the fleas were under control and staying off the animals at least. Vet said it could take up to 7 months for the fleas to die in the house. I also used Vet's Best Natural Flea and Tick Home Spray on our furniture, bedding, and carpet and Aspectek Sticky Dome Flea Trap with 2 Sticky paper which is helping catch the last fleas.

I give this 5 stars because it does what it says it's supposed to and...its relatively cheap. So you ask...what does it do?? Well, it kills live fleas on your animal in a relatively fast time. Between 30 min and 4 hours. It can be used in conjunction with a topical such a Revolution or Front Line. What it does not do?? It will not completely get rid of a flea problem. Why? Well it only works for 24 hours. Then you need to dose again. And it won't get rid of flea eggs or fleas in the house. This is a part of a much bigger solution. Fleas need blood to lay eggs. So if you can keep them off the animal while you work on your house...the cycle of flea life will be broken and eventually you will be flea free. I went 3 weeks, washing, vacuuming, spraying home sprays...dont ask what kind. I used like 4 different kinds. She had a flea collar and Frontline plus some kind of organic spray and I wasnt even beginning to see a difference, I swear it got worse. But I broke down and flea bombed the house and gave her capstar. Vacuumed and washed my bedding. This was Sat. Its monday. I dosed her again with Capstar and will bomb again on sat. Since sat I have only seen 3...so this a way marked improvement and none of the 3 were on her.

I have used this product on kittens and cats to kill adult fleas reliably. I have prioritized this product for kittens that come into the shelter from drug raids or abandoned houses. It kills almost all of the adult fleas in 30 minutes after which I apply a monthly preventative like Revolution. You can actually visualize the fleas jumping off and dying because it is just that effective. I had a kitten come in with hundreds of fleas one time and had to give the cat a dawn dish soap bath followed up with Capstar. The bath did help some but the Capstar killed all of the fleas that did not drown during the bath. I would not know what to do without this product. It is very safe and easy to dose in pill pockets for cats or with a pill gun if they do not take the pill pockets.
