Forget the Blitz, or FloTool brand waste oil containers that crack and leak in less than a year. Those are absolute junk and isn't the point of waste oil containers to CONTAIN the waste oil so you don't spill it on your way to the recycling center? So why make a crap container that leaks oil from every possible crevice? This jug is what I've been looking for in a waste oil container and I'll keep this review updated if it splits or leaks but it doesn't look like that will be anytime soon. This is what you want for waste oil, not that crap sold at your local auto parts stores. Cheers!

I have bought 3 tanks so far. Great for storing RO/DI water for fish tanks. The lid is tight to screw on, but I think that greatly helps the air tight sealing. The caps have female threads if you want to add a specialized fitting, and there is a second cap that you can drill out if you want to add airflow to help pouring. Very versatile tanks!

These are terrific: Comfortable to carry, easy to seal, and not too expensive. We're using them to store seawater and deionized water for our marine reef aquarium.

Perfect for storing and getting rid of old oil, no spills

Using it to hold used engine oil. It works excellent. It has a spot for a small pressure relief hole with a threaded cap for it, on the side opposite the main opening. You have to drill the hole yourself to whatever size you want or leave it if you want, but it is there if you want to take advantage of it. The small pressure relief cap has a sort of laminated paper gasket and the main opening actually has a fairly high quality white rubber gasket. I have not turned my container upside down to try to test if the oil would stay in, but I expect it would. The cap for the main opening also has a female threaded portion in the center, with a plugged hole that it looks you could drill out and plumb some sort of attachments onto if you are going to leave it stationary for a while or set it up with some sort of automatic system.

Perfect for getting water from my local fish store to top off the tank or perform routine water changes. I had the clerk from the fish store take the jugs out to my truck once and he managed to tip the cart over, with these jugs full to the brim with saltwater, luckily they took the fall and did not split open upon hitting the pavement in the parking lot. Bonus points. The rear vent is a plus to help avoid the chugging with containers without the rear vent option.

This Jug is exactly what I was hoping that it would be; There ain't no way in hell that it will leak. I really like the fact that the water level can be easily seen through the walls of the jug. The material that it is made of is good & sturdy. I have already used it & I received it yesterday. I bought it to transport water on camping trips or any other need to carry water that might happen. I pay attention to other reviews of any item that I purchase on Amazon. And, every review is taken into consideration. That being said, I was somewhat worried that this jug was going to be a thin flimsy waste of money. But, Nooo, it ain't thin or flimsy. It is constructed of substantially capable fairly thick plastic. The handle is certainly strong enough to tolerate a full load of 5 gallons which is somewhere not far from 50 pounds. The Jug is good !! It will be good for repeated frequent use for many years. I'll probably end up buying another one of these jugs.

I bought this thing to transport motorcycle oil to a recycling facility, and it definitely works. The only thing is it's HUGE. I mean it blatantly says it holds 5 gallons, but it didn't really click in my head how large that was at the time of purchase. That said the size is a blessing. It allows you to store a lot of oil at once (for me this means I only have to go recycle my oil once per riding season) and the opening makes it so I just put my drain pan directly into the mouth of the jug, which means virtually no clean up. As long as you have space to store it, I would recommend buying this. If you're tight on space and getting this for use with a motorcycle (or any other vehicle with smaller oil capacities) I would say look elsewhere.

Works great, and the opening is large enough for me to stick a 12vdc pump down inside. I use this for my water reservoir on my tiny camp trailer. Good thickness throughout entire container, no thin corners or weak spots.

I ordered this to pour used motorcycle oil into so I can take it to the recycling center. It works PERFECT. Wide mouth and screw on top. You can see how much you have in it due to the translucent body too. The opening is wide enough that I can prop the plastic oil drain basin on it overnight so the pan can drip the residue in it (I prop the basin against a cooler to keep it upright). Anyone looking for a inexpensive way to transfer motor oil to a recycling center, this is it.
