It really does feel like magic when using it

I don't usually write reviews, but I've become so dependent on reading other reviews before I buy anything, I thought it would only be fair that I finally contribute. Maybe it's helpful to know that this is the first product that I'm compelled to review, and that's because this top coat actually does work as well and as fast as it claims. It really does feel like magic when using it. Past Experience: Before, I was stuck using top coat brands like Sally Hansen that claim to be fast or instantly drying, but three days later and I could still make a dent in my polish. I rarely painted my nails because the experience wasn't enjoyable, but I felt stuck with drugstore brands because I didn't know what else to use and a lot of other products seemed too expensive. After finally giving in and committing myself to doing some research, I found this one, as it came highly recommended but more importantly, the price is reasonable. Tips: When using the Seche Vite top coat, the top layer is solid and touchable in about 5 minutes, though I also give it a good half hour for safety before doing anything with my hands, because after that it feels like it's indestructible. With some practice, I would say the final results are better than anything I've gotten at a salon. You really just take a nice sized pearl of top coat and gently drag it across the polished nail before it starts to dry so that it forms a smooth layer. The key is getting a knack for the right amount to start with because if it's too little you'll disturb the polish, and if it's too much it'll bleed off your nail bed. If you're experiencing any chipping I would also recommend wrapping the tips of the nail with both your polish and the top coat. My nails last a lot longer that way. If you paint your nails a lot I would definitely also recommend getting the Seche Restore, because it helps expand the life of this top coat and also the life of your nail polish. Overall: I am finally able to enjoy the process of painting my nails and my nails are beginning to grow nice and long because I get to keep them polished. If you are curious about trying this I would say don't hesitate and try it. It works and it's cheaper than the brands that don't even work as well. The only downside may be the strong smell if you are sensitive to that. Oh, and I also can't ignore the chemical warning label about possible reproductive harm. If those two things are not deal-breakers than go for it. Top Coat is Magic in a Bottle! Base coat seems perfectly adequate.

The Seche Vite top coat in particular is amazing. Yes, it has a chemical in it that it on a "no-no" list but, man, it is so good. You basically polish your nails with whatever color, put a coat of this on and it dries super fast. No sheet marks. It also covers up any imperfections in your application even minor dents or bumps. Seriously, this is worth inhaling a few extra chemicals for this kind of perfection. No one can believe I do such a professional looking home manicure. Seche Vite is largely responsible for this. As far as staying power goes, I have found that some polishes just last longer than others. I use this with all of them but even within the same brand, different colors will have different staying power. The top coat doesn't seem to help too much with that. I also use the base coat and it seems fine but my nails are left orange after I remove my polish. There may be better base coats out there but this one does dry quickly and seems to do the job.

Seche Vite is a gamechanger

if you don't like being held hostage by the lengthy dry time of nail polish, then get yourself a bottle of Seche Vite, because it's a gamechanger. You can go about your business in about 5 minutes---at least enough that you can unbutton a pair of pants to go pee without ruining your nails. They're not fully dry for about 25 minutes, so that you can rub your nails back and forth and make that hard "tic-tic" sound--but at least you can go about your light duties in 5 minutes, and wrestle with pots and pans or a soda can in about 10-15 minutes. So that's a big improvement over the old days. The finish is glassy and thick, which leads me to the major problem with Seche Vite. Like clockwork, as soon as the bottle reaches half-full, it becomes unusable due to the gloppy thickness. Then you need to shell out for a bottle of Seche Restore, which frankly doesn't work that well, to thin things out to a usable consistency. I don't really like Seche Restore, so I often buy value packs of Seche Vite and write off the bottom half of the bottle--it's wasteful, but less aggravating than dealing with the thinner and messing up the intended chemical ratios, which then affects longevity and performance. The other problem with Seche Vite is that it shrinks your polish a lot. So you need to be extra vigilant about wrapping your free edge of the nail tip in polish. Otherwise by the time you're dry, it'll look like you have tip wear. If you can find these value packs for a decent price---make your life easier and reclaim that dry time with Seche Vite!

Truly dries.

Love how fast it dried, truly dried. With 4 kids, 1 being a newborn it is essential that my polish dry quickly. With that said, it did chip and come off with one swim in the pool :/ Edited: painted my nails with a different polish and used this base/top coat & I must say it has held up nicely. I'm on day 4 & not a single chip or imperfection. I'm very pleased with this product and will definitely continue ordering it.

Great deal on the BEST topcoat!

This is hands down the best fast dry topcoat I’ve ever used!! It drys super fast & leaves a great shine. Both the base & topcoat have a nice consistency, not too thin or thick. Both go on very smoothly & easily. I’m very hard in my nails & wash them frequently, & with these on my nails I can go a week without any chipping. The only downside is with the topcoat & nail stamping. It will streak the stamping if your not careful, but that is the same with any fast dry topcoat, so it is what it is, you just have to make sure the brush floats over the nail & not actually touch it. This is a great price for them & will most definitely purchase again & again!!

If I am stuck on a desert island... this is going with me. Seriously though, this stuff works so well I stopped paying for manicures unless it's a special occasion. I do my own nails and it's not a huge disaster like it used to be when no matter what I end up messing up my polish because it takes so long to dry. It truly dries your nails SO fast. If I have 2 coats of polish maybe 1 minute and 3 coats 2 minutes and I can literally go on with my day. The added bonus is that it stays shiny unlike any other top coat so it looks like a fresh professional mani and lasts longer too. This is a game changer and it works so well I get disappointed when I go to a nail salon that doesn't carry it and go home to apply it afterwards because I want my nails to stay shiny longer.

It really does dry fast!

Why haven't I purchased this sooner!!! I've recommended this set to everyone I know. Quick drying is a super plus! I've stopped painting my nails for a few years and turned to gel nails from frustration, kept ruining my manicure because I THOUGHT it was dried but it wasn't. I use this set then reapply every 4 days with the seche vive gel effect top coat. My manicures have been lasting at least 1 week up to 2 weeks... which is how long it takes me before I want to switch out my colors.

Seche vie base and top coat duo.

I painted my nails using the base coat and top coat 3 days ago. No chips yet and for me this is absolutely wonderful results! I bought this base and top coat set because my nail polish never lasts more than a day or two before it chips and looks terrible. The base coat goes on very smoothly and is transparent and shiny in finish- just smells like a normal nail polish would. The top coat is flat out amazing. It truely is a fast dry top coat and really helps keep your nails looking nice if you are very impatient like me and can't stop living life for over an hour to allow your nails to fully dry. Unfortunately, I didn't time how long to took to become fully dry but I'd say 10 minutes after applying the top coat I was doing activities that would normally mess up wet nails. The top coat creates a very shiny and pretty finish to the nails. It has a very strong smell but I don't mind because one coat over top of the nails is all you need and you're good to go. I definitely recommend these items if you are having a really hard time with your nail polish like I was.

MAGIC IN 2 BOTTLES!

I LOVE THIS BASE AND TOP COAT! I bought it based on all the fabulous ratings I saw online. I had also seen it recommended in a magazine which made me check this out in the first place. The base coat protects my nails when I use dark polish so my real nails are not discolored when the polish is removed. The top coat gives a beautiful, high shine to your polish, and it dries in just minutes without using any lamps!! From start to finish, I can do my nails in just 20 minutes and they're totally dry!! I don't use expensive nail polish. I usually buy Sinful polish for $1.99. Although it's an excellent polish itself, my nails using the top and bottom coats of Seche Vite, look like a million dollars! Throw away the nail dryers, just use these two inexpensive products, and you're good to go within minutes! I'm not going to use anything else on my nails going forward. I'm over the moon with this stuff and highly recommend it!!
