Bonjour! We have 10 children and our homeschooling family (6 still homeschooling) LOVES LOVES LOVES Ouino!!!! If you are someone who needs a set track to follow, there is that option. If you like to bop around to vocabulary one day and verb practice the next, you can do that too. Other programs make you go through lesson after lesson to get to what you need. If you already have a decent handle on the language, you can jump ahead. Need to brush up on introductions? One click and you are there. Going to a French restaurant and want to review food vocabulary? Scroll down and you will be ready to order. You can do that with this program. Some other audio programs have vocabulary and you repeat it once and then move on. Unless you listen to the program over and over, it will not stick. Children quickly get bored by this method. We tried out many different kinds of language programs that were available from our local library. Those audio programs did not have the lovely visual to reinforce learning as it is in Ouino. Even the little things add up to enormous ease of learning. For example: everything masculine is written in blue and spoken by a male. Anything feminine is written in red and spoken by a female. Brilliant! We all love the new features from the upgrade. I think my favorite is the cumulative vocabulary review test. Most of my children like to take the tests for the vocabulary over and over until they get the "Awesome!" vocal prompt. By having all the lists together of just the ones you did is such a great review and it really keeps everyone on their toes. The "Random Extra Practice" is wonderful! Having the "streak counter" really makes it all into a game and has been so much fun! The children love it! Ouino is the coveted activity in each day. They have several things they each must do together and also several things they do individually. One daily activity is practice the playing the piano for 20 minutes. If they have completed that, then they are allowed to be on Ouino for 20 minutes. I have to put a time limit because they each would spend all day on Ouino!!! If they finish all of their work for the day, they can go back to "play" on Ouino. Even the 4 year old is randomly speaking French because she likes to sit with me when I complete my lessons. When dealing with another very popular language company, I found the customer service to be nonexistent and frustrating. Not so with Ouino. Tonny and his brother Tim are so helpful, so kind and just lovely to talk to. Any issue you might not understand, they are willing to explain and talk you through. You know that they believe in their product and work hard. I am so pleased to be supporting such a business. When I was in school learning French all we did was conjugate verbs. We never did conversation and so I did not learn to speak French. I have learned more about how to speak French from this product in the few months we have been using it vs. the many years in school I was tortured with verbs. It is so much fun to learn using Ouino! My Quino Flashdrive arrived on time and in a beautiful, safe box

I ordered Quino French after reading several reviews. I wanted to learn something new, to keep my brain active. I am 55 and I am a beginner. My Quino Flashdrive arrived on time and in a beautiful, safe box. I installed it on my laptop. I called Quino's Customer Service to find out how to put it on my Ipad. The gentleman instructed me how to do it. His instructions were perfect. My Spanish program is very easy to navigate. The graphics are bright and vibrant. The voices on the program is clear and the language is pronounced in normal and slow speed. I can decide for myself what I want to learn instead of a laid out program. Tonny, the Co-Founder emailed me, to see how I liked the program and to thank me. HOW COOL IS THAT? I'll tell you, Super Cool. Quino don't just take your money and run, like so many companies do. Highly recommend

I knew the basic French do it was easy to learn for me. I like it a lot because I have the app on my cell phone and it's s even easier to learn without having to seat down in front of the computer. I m planning a trip to France and I'm learning how to communicate when you are on vacation.

Very good for review, could be expanded a bit for beginners

I studied French in high school and and have a passable reading knowledge. I occasionally have to read French articles in my field, biological anthropology (with the help of Google Translate). But my spoken French is a bit rusty and biological terms are not likely to pop up in daily conversation. As I will be traveling to France in Spring I thought some brush-up would help. I have been using OUINO French daily for the past two weeks. It has excellent drills for vocabulary, grammar, etc., and its quizzes are good for practice and review. The setup is pretty straightforward and the examples that they use make sense for a variety of purposes. One plus is that they provide alternate usages for Francophone areas outside of France such as Canada. Another plus, for folks who have trouble keeping track of gender, is that masculine nouns are highlighted in blue with a male speaker and feminine in red with a female speaker. So gender differences are picked up almost subliminally. You can select specific items to work on (essential words, grammar etc.) and work at your own pace. As you work through it it provides examples of more complex statements and concepts. The structure allows you to set up your own drill within a section. For example, in the vocabulary section for--let's say--shopping, you can go though the vocabulary in sequence to familiarize yourself the terms and pronunciation, and then click among the terms that are most difficult. You can then test your knowledge in the user-friendly speed drill quiz that follows, then repeat the lesson or quiz. So from my perspective, it is an excellent system for reviewing French vocabulary, grammar and conversation. I have used a number of other systems for learning Italian. Ouino French is much less labor intensive than RosettaStone (and a lot more economical), and is easier to follow than the Pimsleur systems, although it does not go into the same depth. However: I do not think it is optimized for a beginner or at least for someone who has not studied a foreign language before. Rather than walking one through the process, it lets you pick and choose what to work on (good for review, but not so good for the beginner). On the other hand, OUINO would be an excellent supplement to another beginner system. Hint: I enjoy studying languages and always keep Google Translate ([...]) open. When I encounter a new word in Ouino, I look for alternate terms and usages in Google Translate. I also like to create new sentences with the new vocabulary and check them in Google Translate. So, overall this is an excellent system for review or to supplement a separate course in French.

A multimodal approach that works

I received a USB drive with the installer, and the program is fun and easy to use. I'm using it in conjunction with Pimsleur and a class from The Great Courses. Taken together, the elements serve as a useful primer and review. I studied French for 3 years in high school and 2 years in college. Since then, I've let my skills lapse. But I'm pleased to find that the neural pathways are still there and that it's just a matter of honing them. I researched various language-education softwares and decided to try Ouino. So far, it's good times. I'm using the early lessons as review, and I'm pleased that the program allows you to quiz yourself with various levels of challenge: you can review a lesson and control how many clues the program gives you, all the way up to getting no hints and having to type all the French phrases from memory. And you're under a timer, with the program gauging not only your accuracy but also how quickly you're able to answer. The adaptability of that approach caters to people with different skills sets (including people who aren't sure of their skill).

I am amazed at the depth and user-friendliness of this program. It is a great product and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to other, more expensive, products out there. You can pick the lessons you want or follow the recommended learning path they indicate. You will be pleasantly surprised when you start picking up the pace and getting more fluent. The lessons have review exercises and they are fun! Finally, their customer support team is excellent. Once you reach out to them, they respond quickly. Definitely a "FIVE STARS" product!

An amazing product!

Ouino offers the best value for your language learning dollar among ANY program. I decided to give it a try to help learn French (my third foreign language) and I couldn’t have made a better decision. Every element of foreign language learning is here: listening, writing, speaking, pronunciation, grammar, verb conjugations, vocabulary -- and more. Often times when you start to learn another language, you’re overwhelmed by “what to learn first/next.” That’s not the case with Ouino as it provides a learning path for you. The program’s interface is superb and it keeps you fully engaged in a very fun way. I have no idea how this course can be offered for under $100, but frankly, it’d be a bargain at three times that amount. Ouino is superb. If you’re “on the fence” about buying it, just go ahead -- you will not be disappointed.

A Great Program and Great Customer Service

I recently bought Ouino French to expand my knowledge of the language. I hadn't taken French since high school, and after doing a lot of research on the products that were available, decided on Ouino as my language learning solution. I'm glad I did. The lessons seem to fit my learning style perfectly, I'm very visual and the way that Ouino sets up the program seems geared toward visual learners. I find that the program is also a lot of fun, and I find myself constantly looking forward to my next lesson. I had a little hiccup at the beginning after installation, but the customer service department was right there to help me through it, and I was up and running in no time. Overall, I think the program is a great way to learn a new language and the customer service is amazing. I will be using Ouino for any and all my future language learning needs.

Impressive, affordable choice for language learning

I bought this when my 7 year old insisted she wanted to learn French. The program came on a USB drive with a key code. You can load the software on a Mac or PC, but you can use the key code directly through the website on your Chromebook, phone or iPad. Once I set up the account, I loaded the app onto the iPad and she was ready to go. It's very user friendly and she has enjoyed exploring the different categories (vocabulary, conversation, etc). Obviously the graphics and videos are geared more towards adults, but the other cartoon programs out there seemed like they would have a limited lifespan. At a third the price as Rosetta, this program really delivers. I absolutely LOVE that I can use this on the IPad instead of a PC, because it not only allows for portability, it has the tactile aspect to it that keeps you engaged. You are also allowed to use your account on up to 3 devices. Excellent product.

Really nice program, I'm glad I came across it

I ordered this program because of the price and good reviews and I'm not disappointed. The item came quickly and was easy to install on my laptop with the USB stick. This French program covers so many topics and I like the dialogues. The games and activities to check your learning are fun and I like that they have some to practice spelling which I need since I have a hard time spelling French words. This program has been helpful so far in the short time I've had it and it's helping me get some basics in French before I move there for work in a month or so.
