My picky brat cat loves these and they don’t stink!(cat eats gross me out) they’re def not cheap but I feel a lot better about giving my cat this treat as it is clearly what it says it is-freeze dried chicken. Honestly, I would have no problem/shame eating one. My cat hates all healthy food and treats. She’s of the Mcdonalds trash bag palette variety, but finally a win! She did have a minor chokey moment on one in the beginning, probably because she is inhaling its deliciousness, so now I break them up a little. Great product thanks for actually caring about our loved ones!

As a pet parent of a veritable zoo, I love my fur babies and consider them all part of my family - including all 12 chickens! Lulz! Accordingly, I feed them the best food and treats possible. To make sure they are healthy and happy, I keep their diet as natural and organic as possible. That includes treats. I often make my own, esp dog biscuits, but sometimes I just don't have the time. So I like to eep some ready made treats on hand. But finding healthy treats, esp for cats, is not an easy task. That's how I ended up trying PureBites! And I'm glad I did! Made from NOTHING other than pure chicken, these freeze dried treats are low calorie and high protein. So I feel great about giving them to my cats! And they go BONKERS for them! If I open a bag that even remotely sounds like the treat bag, they come running.... just in case! I alternate between the chicken and the ocean whitefish to give them variety. They love both! While 1.09 oz may sound like a small amount, these are freeze dried chunks of chicken, so it weighs over 90% less than fresh chicken. The package actually holds quite a bit! I'd say it's equal to approximately 1 1/2 large chicken breast halves. The package lasts my 2 rather spoiled kitties a month! They are offered on Subscribe and Save, so I just have it delivered without thinking about it! For anyone who is unfamiliar with freeze dried products, they are great and will last 25+ years when stored in a cool, dry place. Freeze drying uses a pressurized environment combined with extremely low temperatures to rapidly eliminate over 90% of the water in meat, vegetables, fruits, sauces, etc. By doing so quickly, the cell structure remains intact. That means that the texture is relatively unchanged. The result is a food product that can last for decades without degrading or becoming tainted by bacteria. It also reduces the weight dramatically, so storage is easy. Also, by freeze drying products like fruits and vegetables raw, nearly 100% of the original vitamins, minerals, probiotics, and enzymes remain intact! Raw fruits and veggies have naturally occurring lactobacteria on their skins/surface. I wish they had an organic option or at least one that didn't use factory farmed chicken, but that doesn't exist right now. I haven't even found organic or humanely raised freeze dried chicken for humans, yet. But that's my only complaint and it does;t warrant any reduction in rating since I knew what I was purchasing. Just putting my wishes out there! :-) These freeze dried treats are exceptionally healthy and both cats and dogs love them! Highly Recommend! If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reply to this review, tweet me, or shoot me an email! There are links to both my Twitter and email in my Amazon profile. Thanks! I wish you happiness and health! :-)

Our cat is 19 years old but she has remained active and still has a very healthy appetite. We have never gotten into the habit of giving her treats but noticed she was very interested when the dogs got their "cookies". I researched to find something healthy for her and the Chicken Purebites seemed to fit the bill perfectly. The minute the bag was opened and she smelled the treats she was hooked. She seems to love the flavor. These are practically weightless but the bag is full and there are more treats than you might think at first. Very happy with this addition to my Subscribe and Save items...(and so is Tess)

I have these on subscribe and save for my cat with kidney issues. She is on a special vet diet for life (y/d). Although science diet does not recommend anything but their diet for the rest of the cat's life,I feel bad only feeding her the same thing for the rest of her life. I did some research and plain chicken is low in iodine. This treat is made of plain freeze dried chicken and my kitty loves them!! I give her a few a day (3 or 4) and feel they increase her quality of life. She is maintaining weight and labs are good. So, even though science diet does not recommend them, they have worked well for us!

When I was first considering the switch to PureBites, I had some safety concerns. The product is 100% raw freeze-dried chicken, and I was worried about exposing myself and my cat pathogens like Salmonella and E. coli. I also didn't want to go through raw food precautions every time I handled the treats. So I sent an email to the company's customer service. I found the response very helpful, so I'd thought that I would share it here: "Thank you for contacting PUREBITES with your concern. Our facility is producing pet treats that are heat processed in a manner that destroys pathogens. All our pet treats are freeze-dried – a process that has a thermal process step that is effective in the destruction of pathogens. Our pet treats are processed for a minimum of 15-20 hours at temperatures ranging from 150F-185F. To validate the destruction of pathogens, every batch of our pet treats are tested for the following pathogens and total plate, yeast, and mold prior to packaging by an accredited independent laboratory. · Salmonella · E.coli · Coliforms · Staph. Aurous · Listeria" I feel intensely satisfied with the prompt and thorough response that I received and feel no hesitation about either handling these treats, or giving them to my cat. Compared to other freeze-dried cat treats, PureBites are a great value. They are much lower in price than most other brands of freeze-dried treats, and they are easy to break into smaller pieces when needed. Most importantly, my cat loves them!

This product is amazing. I was hesitant at first as I'm trying to give the kittens treats that are good for them but taste good as well. Up til now we had been giving them real chicken bits as treats but was warned about the hazards of salmonella poisoning to *us* (not the cats), so we reluctantly stopped. I found PureBites Chicken Cat Treats by doing some research online. I simply can't praise this treat enough. The chicken bites are freeze dried and, as the package says, contain only one ingredient;chicken. The bites range in size from 3/4 inch to little sliver crumbs. They can be crushed between your finger and thumb, yet are hard enough for the cats to crunch them. And they go after them faster than catnip. I have 3 kittens, and might give them one to two decent sized pieces every other day as a snack or treat. Their normal daily diet consists of freely available dry Purina Kitten Chow as well as 1/3 can each of Purina One canned mixed with dry twice a day and they *still* gobble these treats like they are starving (which they obviously are not - 6 months old weighing in at 6.5 lbs.). Wonderful product, awesome results, will definitely buy again.

Man o man, cats LOVE purebits. I was introduced to them when a friend very kindly bought a few bags for my cat's birthday party. Yes, Im one of THOSE cat owners. After seeing how much he enjoyed these freeze-dried num nums, I started looking around for them. You really can't beat this item on amazon as it is great bargain as an add-on item. I just throw in my cart and compile enough items to meet the minimum purchase requirement. I did just notice the first time I bought it, it was a $2.99 add-on and this last order it was $3.99 - still cheaper than buying at Petco (even on sale) but should be noted that the price changes by over 30% sometimes.

Ferrets (and their wild polecat cousins) are obligate carnivores, meaning they should only eat meat! (Or animal protein.) But I don't want to feed my girls a BARF (bones and raw food, or behaviorally/biologically appropriate raw food) diet. PureBits freeze dried treats are a great dietary supplement for ferret owners who want to give their fuzzbutts appropriate food, but don't want to deal with the hassle of keeping dead rodents in their freezer. PureBites freeze dried treats are shelf-stable for a long time, so you can keep them in a drawer or in your pantry and they won't spoil. They're pure meat (chicken in this case, but PureBites sells many different meats), so you know your pets are getting high-quality, unadulterated animal protein. And both of my ferret girls (even the picky one) absolutely LOVE these treats. They're slightly crispy (like toasted bread), not hard like kibble. Tip: PureBites shrimp make great training treats for ferrets, since the shrimp are small and can be eaten quickly. The chicken breast can also work, but some of the pieces are on the bigger side. When one of the ferrets gets a big piece, they run off to eat it instead of staying right beside me. That's why I find the shrimp is better for training.

Whether it's food for myself or my cat, I want the purest choice possible, free of chemicals, additives and fillers. This made it tough to find a treat I could feel good about giving my cat, since many had a paragraph long list of "ingredients." No thanks! Thankfully, I found PureBites here on Amazon, and food seriously doesn't get any more pure than this: one ingredient, freeze-dried chicken, USDA inspected. This is a healthy treat that's high in protein, low in calories... and my cat loves them! From one room away, he can now hear the sound of me handling the bag and comes running. Unfortunately... and despite the five star review... I can't guarantee that your cat will love them, too. Why not? Hey, we're talking CATS... who are notoriously finicky on an individual basis... so who knows? :-) But based on the overall reviews, I'd say the odds are in your favor. One final tip: if you're cat enjoys these treats, start buying them in the 11.5 ounce size for dogs which you'll find here: http://amzn.to/SLNnss They are MUCH cheaper this way and exactly the same product, except the pieces are larger, so you'll have to break them up a bit. Thank you for taking the time to read my review, and I hope you find it helpful in making a purchase decision.
