I love this fire pit! My husband bought this for me as a birthday gift. I'd been wanting one for a while and after a friend let us borrow a cheap Walmart fire pit of theirs in which the metal was paper thin,I made sure he knew I wanted to spend a little more if it meant we got a quality product. And this is definitely a quality fire pit. It's heavy, sort of textured metal. It's fairly deep. I love the mesh metal that goes all the way around the inside preventing sparks or pieces of kindling popping out. I also love the openings in the sides, it lets a nice amount of heat out all the way around and down low by your feet, keeping them nice and warm while sitting up by the fire pit. Comes with a metal hook to grab the top off to prevent you burning your hand when you need to add wood. Also came with a grill grate, which is a nice heavy piece also. We did not nor do we plan to grill on this fire pit, because I don't want food grease or anything in it, but I would definitely be fine using that piece to replace the old one on our round charcoal grill. We put a bit of sand in the bottom per the manufacturers and other reviewers suggestion. That seemed to put a nice layer under the wood to sort of protect the bottom and gave a bit of a foundation for your wood to burn on.

Wasn’t hard to set up at all, in fact my 13 year old son did by himself and he is not very mechanical inclined ( did it without reading instructions either). Product was on sale for $76, same pit is $130 at the big hunting/fishing stores. I did made a whole in the middle in order to allow water to run off. I put lava rock at the bottom. Sand didn’t make sense as it would hold in moisture. I used the crate to cook some burgers and hot dogs and worked great. Handles stayed cold so we could move the pit to another location when it got too windy or in case of a quick rain. We love our pit. Will write an update in a few weeks to see how is holding up

The weave pattern around the bowl looks really nice when lit. It's better looking than I expected actually. It's nice that it comes with a grill and a handles to pull the grill and/or the top screen off when the fire is going. I read a review that said the screen around the bowl burnt out quickly but I see nothing in the design to give me concern. Perhaps it would suffer if a raging fire was burning for a long time. If you like really big fires you might consider a larger fire pit. However, the size of this pit is more than adequate for a substantial fire if desired. One feature I appreciate is the the external ring around the bowl. It helps to support longer branches and the like while they are burning and keeps them in the bowl better. All too often half burnt branches topple out of my previous fire pit. It will kill the grass beneath it so take that into consideration. Overall, it's a great fire pit and I have no reservations in strongly recommending it.

Came quicker than expected and very easy to put together. This fire pit is actually bigger than expected.Looks beautiful burns great just clean out when done and cover up properly. For the price let’s be realistic how long do people seriously expect this too last.I have only gotten a couple years out of cheaper fire pits and will say this one is made way more durable.Even if I get 1-2 years we will be using a lot and I will get my money’s worth in memories.Want something better than spend $300 plus but even still they rust out eventually.Do yourself a favor and purchase this one you won’t regret it !

The tub is about 24" diameter and 12" deep. It states to put sand in the bottom to keep the ash off the bottom. I used a 18" weber charcoal grate for the bottom and the amount of sand they recommend comes right to the bottom of it. The grate also sets on top of the leg nuts on the inside so it is stable. That way you can scoop out the ash without disturbing the sand. I would recommend a cover so the sand doesn't become wet and rot out the bottom of the firepit. It is made of sturdy steel and powder coated. The tube ring is about 1" in diameter and very sturdy. I have not used the cooking grate, but it looks to be good quality. I would recommend this firepit.

We have had the bear mesh sided pit for almost 5 years and have loved it! I think we had a cover for a few years and then it disappeared in a move so the last three yrs it’s been outdoors. We use it for roasting marshmallows and making s’mores mostly but st hotdogs and brats. It might be getting a little rusty. We’ve never used sand in the bottom and have not drilled holes for water drainage. I love being able to rest the roasting sticks on the sides and my feet when the fire is dying down. When it does finally rust out 1-2-3 or more yrs from now? We will surely want the same fire pit again.

Wife and I talked about getting one of these for months. I checked all the local hardware stores and didn't find any that I liked. I was hesitant to order this one due to the price, but my wife and I are very glad I did. We love sitting out by the fire, having a drink, getting the kids to make hot dogs or smores. It's great for the entire family. I did put sand on the bottom. I did not drill holes in it. I place a cover over it when not in use. Some of the paint on the grate to catch the embers has peeled off, but it's not bad.

I searched a seeming endless variety of fire pits and decided this one best fit my needs. It has worked out very well. I drilled several drainage holes in the base as recommended by others, but also have a cover which I keep on, so moisture has not been a problem. The fire pit has been plenty big enough to contain moderate sized fires, comfortably handling 18" fireplace-sized wood that I have split. It probably could handle slightly larger split wood since the interior diameter of the pit is 28". Assembly was pretty straightforward, with one exception. The outer iron ring is made up from three sections - each piece having short studs on each end that are screwed into from inside the fire pan through pre-drilled holes. Two of the ring sections were fine, but the studs on the third were welded to close together to match up with the holes in the fire pan. I called Landmann customer service, and they immediately sent out a replacement ring. Excellent customer service. I bought the Classic Accessories Hickory fire pit cover - small. While that does cover the top of the fire pit, it does not extend down the sides as far as I would like. I am going to get the large size which should work better.

I've used it a couple times and really like it so far. It holds a really nice amount of wood, and you can see the fire through the cutouts on the side. It was easy to put together (took less than 20 minutes to do myself). There are no holes in the bottom, which is what I wanted, and because of it's size it is easy to clean out. My dad and I made a top for it which allows me to use it for a coffee table when not in use and the top also keeps the rain out. I did discover (by accident) that if not covered, the outer handle gets water inside where the three pieces connect. When I picked it up to move it, rusty water came out. Pretty easy fix by just coating the inside with a sealant before connecting and attaching the handle. Comes with a mesh cover, grate and poker (which you can also use to lift the grate and cover). The mesh cover did not fit perfectly, but was easy enough to bend in the right spots to make it fit better. Overall, I would say great fire pit for the price and my neighbors and I plan on many more evenings of fires and making s'mores.

The Patio Lights Firewave Firepit took only a few minutes to assemble. The rail surrounding the pit comes in 3 pieces and each piece attaches via 2 welded nuts to the pit. One nut was welded off angle and could not be secured. The remaining 5 securement point were sufficient however to comfortably pick up and move the pit around. Per recommendation I put down a layer of sand to protect the bottom. I also put down 3 bricks and a grate as I needed the coals closer to the grill for cooking. It worked great! Fire was nice and warm, the rail surrounding the pit stayed cool, the dancing flames were mesmerizing. The next day I found the sand prevented the bottom from getting damaged or dirty from the dripping food oil. I cleaned out the sand and put the pit away until the next night time BBQ.
