Great Outdoor Misting Fan & Air Cooler
We needed a couple misting fans for our back patio, and were torn between a few different models. At the end of the day, we wanted something that looked professional, and was built to last. This misting fan has been all that, and then some! The fan, stand, base, etc. is all metal, and believe me when I tell you - it's very durable. It's also a very nice looking fan. Now, we're the only place on the block that still has patrons sitting outside in the 90+ degree heat! The front of the fan looks a bit different than some other models, with the misting circle in the center. Don't be fooled, it puts out a ton of mist. The idea is supposedly that the misting circle will never clog up like a nozzle would. We haven't had it long enough to find out, but the concept makes sense. The tank does need to be refilled on occasion, but it easily runs all afternoon and into the early evening for us without any issue. The design looks like it recycles the water that drips from the misting circle, which is pretty cool. It's also the only one we've seen with nice sturdy wheels, so we can easily move it around to accommodate larger parties. It's definitely been a great investment for us so far.

Would I buy another, YES!
We just received this fan, what a quality well built out thought out design. At first glance of 3 boxes shipped, I was thinking what a did I get myself into? First box I opened was the base, this base is made of thick metal with two serious casters allowing to tilt complete unit over for transportation and 2 swivel locking casters to roll entire unit straight up and then lock into place once positioned were you want it, I'm familiar with heavy weight dollies and this has more than required to move it. The fan motor has a shroud to keep water out on the rainy/wet days (they say don't leave it out during those times), accidents happen and this fan motor can take those due to the shroud. Assembly, if you can build a 3x5 table purchased on line, you can complete this task easily, instructions were simple, clear and to the point, I was able to assemble this fan in 20 minutes after in-boxing. The water reservoir is made of plastic that sits on the heavy steel base, I agree plastic is a good resevoir for water, wash clean and stow away plus keeps weight down. The neck is wired for plug ins for water, electricity with electric plugins no absolute way to get them wrong, the water tubes are #ed and all you have to match are the 1-1, 2-2, 3-3 & 4-4, just that easy. The oscillation feature took me a minute to figure out, but all was easy after I played with it (old style mechanical). This has a water pressure pump as well (don't let it pump dry). Can I say it will make you cooler as like sitting in your house? No. Does it help with those hot evenings? Yes. The mist is ultra fine and reaches my resting place from 15' away. One more thing I might add, it has a cup near the mister to catch any drips of water, this keeps the patio water free and sends excessive water back to the water resevoir. The only downfall I can come up with, it's loud, but what fan that moves air of this magnitude not?

Worth It!
We have used this on our deck this summer and it allows us to spend much more time on the deck. It works great and the seller was fantastic to work with! It is worth the price!!!

Great support!
After much investigation, I decided to purchase this fan because 1.) it used a spinning tray to propel the mist into the air stream (rather than injection nozzles which generate too much water spray, wetting everything in front of it and also seriously wetting the floor around the fan), and 2) most reviews indicated that the commercial rating was accurate and that the fan was well constructed. This fan was everything we wanted, and more. We've had parties with 20+ people in the hot, muggy Florida summer and, lo and behold, everyone stayed out on the patio rather than seek relief indoors.! Standing directly in front of the fan does NOT coat you with water and there is NO puddle on the floor. The fan motor is powerful enough to cover our 20 x 15 living area at a lower speed than max. Over 2 days, 8 hours, we never had to refill the tank and there is still some reserve water in the tank. Down-side? 1.) I purchased a refurbished model (after all it IS more expensive than the injection-type fans) and found that, although the hoses had been replaced, the original hose pieces were still stuck in the host inlets. A message to Luma support was answered immediately letting me know that they were contacting the manufacturer to get instructions on how to remedy the problem and was followed up by the explicit directions that allowed me finish the setup. Great support!! 2) the fan is kinda noisy but I didn't have problems hearing others while sitting within 6 feet of it. (My wife says it's because everyone was talking louder - heh) 3) As usual, the instructions don't seem to provide identification of all the features, screws, knobs, etc. I can't figure out why the least expensive part of any manufacture ( the user documentation) is always given short-shrift. Anyway, the documentation is sufficient to allow relatively straight-forward assembly, and the hoses and inlets they go into are marked with matching numbers to make the install pretty foolproof. I had no problems getting the hoses to fit into their inlets (once I cleaned out the old hose pieces) as has been reported by other reviewers, perhaps because I pulled the hoses out of their "conduit" cover and made sure they didn't cross over each other which would shorten them enough to cause problems reaching the inlets. As you can tell I am very pleased with this purchase! Update: I don't understand some of the other negative reviews about the misting "nozzles" and "hose connections". This fan has neither. it has a centrifugal spinning tray that throws a fine mist while most water returns to the tank for reuse -- no wet furniture, people, or floors like some report with nozzles. It sounds like they are reviewing a different product.

Amazing Power!
The Luma Comfort MF26B misting fan puts out an amazing amount of misted water. This product is perfect for a large backyard during the hot summer days or even a little league game! I love that it has a large water tank that can last 5 hours on high and the wheels make it easy to transport. There is not better high power misting fan on the market!

Awesome Fan!
I purchased this particular misting fan after searching high and low for something a bit less expensive to use on my back porch. Ultimately, I kept coming back to this one and here's why: commercial grade...on wheels...no clogging...fill the tank...4 hours cooling of 1,000 sq ft space! It's nice looking and does the job well taking my back porch (pictured) from a sweltering cement platform to an enjoyable outdoor living space which is saying a lot here in Texas! Anyone who sees it adores it! Just keep in mind you do have to assemble it but it's fairly simple. Awesome product!
