My wrx came already came with a short throw shifter. While it felt so much better going through shorter gears, did not feel as confident when shifting. The extra weight makes it an entire difference. I'd highly recommend any weighted knob when installing a short throw. I chose this one for style, price, and weight. I'd recommend getting a blox racing adapter to complete the look which is located right under the knob. For comparison i believe stock knob is .3 lbs compared to this knob which is closer to 1lb.

I've ordered a few knobs before but they were just for aesthetics. They never had the weight to them, so shifting felt so awkward. I opted it to get a weighted one and hoped it would provide a better experience. The Mishimoto Weighted Shift Knob is really amazing! It provides a smooth shifting experience. Fits a Honda Civic 2007, but it is a bit high - It isn't a deal-breaker. Get's warm/hot during the day and cold during the night. Comes with three plastic adapters which I assume is for different vehicles. Overall - satisfied with the product.

I absolutely love this shift knob. I put it on my 1990 Miata Track car and not only does it fit well but it makes driving and shifting a joyous experience. There's just no comparison to the stock shift knob or the cheaper imitations. The weight of the Mishimoto is just right and it causes the shifts to feel confident and accurate. Also, it's large enough to where you can find it without looking at it but small enough to where it's not bumping against your dashboard. -Great feel for a smooth transition from wheel to shifter. -Weight is just right for accurate and smooth shifts. -Looks amazing! I got the black and if anything, it makes the rest of the car look bad! You won't be disappointed with this shift knob. When you factor in the plethora of adapters which come with it on top of its perfect feel, you should have no problems fitting it to your car so you can get back to driving.

I bought this for my son's 2008 Mazda 3. He recommends it, but the adapter is not as long as the threads on the shift stick so it sits up higher and there are exposed threads. I noticed the big gap between the bottom of the shift knob and the boot so it looks weird, though he is fine with it. I got to drive his car and noticed the difference between this shift knob and the OEM. It is so much easier and natural to shift with the Mishimoto shift knob. I love it! The one con is that the silver knob became hot in the afternoon. I was still able to hold the silver shift knob when it was 80 degrees outside and the car was sitting in the sun for about 1/2 hour. Can't imagine how much hotter it will be if it sat in the sun for a longer period of time. I still gave 5 stars because the ease of shifting was a huge difference.

The only thing I regret about this shifter is not buying it earlier! I drive a Miata NA and the Mishimoto shifter makes a HUGE difference on how shifting feels. The knob literally slides through gears, it's so smooth and effortless. The knob also looks really appealing, it has a clean darkened chrome look to it. The shift knob has great weight to it as well, could knock someone out! Even though this may seem obvious, but because it's a metal shiftknob..the knob does tend to get hot/cold depending on the temperature. You'll either be greeted by an icicle or satans fist! Love it, would buy again!

the weight and feel is amazing. Smooths everything rite out. I made a dumb mistake tho. I test fit this on my OEM shifter before I installed my short shifter to see if I would like it. I can't remove the universal adapter to install on short shifter. I could probably get it off if I chew it up with pliers but I want to maintain the threads. I wish they sold adapters separately. EDIT: After contacting Mishimoto through there website, I received a reply with an offer of new adapters for $10. Well worth the price in my opinion.

This is a cheap way to spice up your manual transmission experience. I have been changing my shift knob about every 10 months. I went from a weighted sphere that is easily found on Amazon, to this. The shape definitely takes a bit to get used to grasping onto, as opposed to a perfect ball. But now I love it, the extended leverage on a short shift kit is very rewarding to row through the gears. This knob sits considerably higher than my previous one, which creates more throw/leverage, but your hands have to travel less from the shifter back to the steering wheel. A bit of a trade-off to consider. My car does not have a threaded shifter, so I drilled out the inside of the largest thread adapter enough that it would fit snug.

This knob looks great in my car. Give a taller feel that I was wanting. It is heavy and has a great feel when shifting. The only thing I wish was different was the adapters that came with it are plastic. I wish they were metal to give a super tight feel. It really does look like a high end knob. Doesn’t look like it would scratch easily and the paint looks great on it. Super shiny. Gets a little warm in the sun but gets cool quick.

I got the black version, but with the polish on it, its more like a shiney gun metal. Very hefty weight and feels great. I hesitated and was going to give it 4 stars, but decided it doesn't affect usage. The inside of the knob, above where the threading ends, was extremely rusted right out of the box. It reminded me of how old exhaust piping looks after years of use. But, this doesn't affect the outside look and quality, so Im rating without that in mind. The only thing I wish I could change is the adapter length. My shaft doesn't have a lot of threading at the top, so it bottomed out and looks pretty tall. It's probably just due to it being on an automatic, but it would be nice to adjust the height. Yeah, weighted knob on an auto, its funny. But the OEM kob was rubbing off and the simple, clean look is very attractive. I exclusively use the "manual mode" when I drive, though, so I can tell you that you really do feel the weight of the knob when moving it around.

Hands down the best shift knob i have ever used. I have a 09 Scion TC TRD and the included adapter which I wish was metal (they are plastic) fits perfect. I can tell a major difference in shifting with this over the TRD shift knob that came with the car, it feels nice and fluid. The weight is perfect. I would recommend this shift knob for anyone looking to upgrade from stock or even coming from a different brand. Only con I have is that the knob gets super hot now that it's the summer time. I even covered the knob with a rag and it being metal will still conduct ambient heat. I wouldnt take a star off for that tho
