We purchased a pack for my dog to carry when we're on long trips, and also needed a bowl. He knows how to drink out of water containers but we don't always want a dogs mouth all over something we might be drinking out of as well. This can be collapsed and rolled up small, and works well for what it's supposed to. As mentioned in other reviews, this is not meant for holding water for long periods. Put some water in, let the dog drink, empty it and repack. Works fine for that. We have a 65lb Samoyed and it works for him.

Surprisingly great travel bowls! Its been in the high 90's lately and I've got a cocker spaniel that can drink twice her weight in water on a walk when it's hot and expects me to carry her if I forget to bring a water dish, so I ordered several of these so I'd always have one on hand since they were cheap. I have a few different other travel bowls and planned for these to just be back-ups, however, after the first back-up use, these have become my favorites! They are truly compact, folding up or don't down to half the size of others, and they have a handy stretchy loop for hooking them onto your pack or holding them together once rolled up. Both big wins right there, but the most impressive feature is that inner lip that at first I thought was weird - it's genius! It gives the dish structure and prevents spilling. When I have both dogs trying to drink out of the dish at the same time, they don't end up doing all that previous water I pack around for them that they seem to take for granted. Even better, on long limited water hikes, I actually found I can leave water in this dish and clip it to my backpack and hike without it spilling! It's kind of amazing! Very handy if you have dogs like mine that act thirsty, then lap up almost no water after you pour a bowl full of that previous resource you hauled for miles. Just clip that dish on and give it to them the next time they pull that act.

Nice size to put inside of a doggie vest. It isn't permanently waterproof but it's not meant to be...just something to put water or food in until your dog is done eating/drinking.

Seems durable, folds up small, good sized bowl. I'm excited to try it out on long walks and hikes with my pup, Shadow!

I bought this for a 8 hr roadtrip to Maine with my Bernese Mountain dog. He's usually picky about his water bowl but he liked drinking out of this. I'm going to get another one to leave in the car so I can use the one I have now for long walks or hikes. Here's the pros-- 1. lightweight and easy to carry in my purse since it foldable/collapsible 2. wide enough for my big dog to get his mouth and nose in to lap up water 3. dries quickly 4. good quality for price!

Serves it's purpose. It's a collapsible water dish that you can fold up and stick in your pocket. When placed upside down on a Cabbage Patch doll, it doubles as an ugly chef's hat.

I was buying something else and this little dog bowl popped up as an add on. It was inexpensive and I thought it would be great for a camping trip we are planning and to use when we canoe. Read the reviews as I always do. Saw a few people complained that it leaked, but figured for my use it would work fine. I love this bowl!! It's lightweight. You could shove it in your pocket. It has a loop for hanging or attaching it. I've used it a few times on walks and around the house. My dog loves to drink from it. It holds more than her collapsible dog bowl. Today I leak tested it. I filled it with cold water so at first it did have some moisture under and around the bottom. After 2 hours, several dog slurps and the water warming there is no moisture and the bottom is dry. Just noticed it was sitting in direct sunlight so I temp tested. The water inside is still very cool. This is a great buy!!

Very nice lightweight bowl. Folds into my backpocket or takes up minimal space in a bag. The material is similar to the kind you might find on a Northface backpack. The attached photos show the Large 48oz bowl next to a 32oz Nalgene bottle. UPDATE (2017-08-16): I've been using the bowl everyday for about 3 months now. It's definitely not waterproof. As the bottom gets damp and some water may seep through, just like a backpack would if you left it out in the rain. But I specifically use this to provide water for my dog when we're at the park and it's always resting over some grass anyway so no big deal. Aside from that, the collapsible bowl still works fine and all the stitching still in tact. I spray it with a hose when we get home and leave it out in the sun to dry. Occasionally I throw it in a bucket with some dish soap and warm water.

I recently adopted a 3 y/o 80lb male labradoodle who was used to running 5 miles every morning with his owner, so I'm doing my best to keep up the exercise since he needs it to stay healthy and happy. We run or bike every single morning. I had been pouring water out of my camelpak for him to drink but it was wasting water and not a very efficient way to do things so I ordered this bowl and I love it!! It collapses down to practically nothing (I store it under the elastic bands on the front of my camelbak) but can hold a LOT of water! It's great for dogs with big mouths/heads to drink out of, and when they're done, it collapses right back and dries quickly! I love that it has an elastic loop on it as well so if I don't feel like carrying a bag myself I could easily attach it to the back on my dog's harness or to my bike using a clip. This is the perfect portable water bowl for any activity with your pet and at a GREAT price! I highly recommend!! I did NOT receive this item for free or at a discount.

Well I've used this four or five times now and have waited to write a review. It works great! Collapses into nothing, fits a perfect amount of water for my large GSD and is a godsend on the trails. My dog loves being able to stop and take a break and get a cool drink of water. The collapsible bowl doesn't leak in the slightest, however I only leave water in it long enough for my GSD to drink his fill, and then I pour the excess back into my water bottle for later, so I can't speak to its water retention over a long period of soaking. Fits into a back pocket perfectly and is a necessary when walking your dog in warm weather. If you love your dog, you need to carry some way of hydrating him when you're out and about and I've found that this Outward Hound bowl works great!
