Pill pockets gave me another year with my beloved puppy

My beloved 13-year-old Silky Terrier passed away recently after a long illness. I cannot imagine how taking care of her and keeping her comfortable for the last year would have been possible without these Pill Pockets. She had to take 7 pills every morning and 7 in the evening 5 days a week and 8 in the evening 2 days a week. (She had multiple diseases, one disease leading to another to another to another.) She loved her pill pockets even when she would not feel like eating her meal. The pockets were large enough so that I could break two of them up into enough pieces so that I could easily wrap each capsule, pill, or two small pills into each piece. Fortunately, she just swallowed them whole without chewing, so she thought they were great treats. I've had dogs in the past that would take and eat the treat (pill pocket) and the capsule/pill would just casually fall out of the mouth.

These are hands-down the all-time favorite treat for both my dogs. They’re obsessed with them. I’m pretty sure they would be happy if I replaced their entire diet with only these. They are super soft, which is very important for my elderly little puppy girls. Most especially my 10 year old chihuahua who doesn’t have quite so many teeth... these are very easy for her to eat. They’re also easy to break apart, split, roll up into smaller treats. & if I’m being totally honest.. they smell really good. I haven’t tasted one yet, but... I’ll just say, they smell like fresh peanut butter.

10 pills daily...made simple.

Towards the end of his life, my dog was taking various pills 3 times a day. Pill Pockets were a lifesaver. Before we started buying these, we had a difficult time getting him to take his medicine every day. He would even refuse it when tucked into a piece of chicken (in his defense, the pills smelled awful - they probably tasted just the same). But once we started giving him the Pill Pockets, he never turned his nose up at his medicine again. The peanut butter ones were his favorite, and he would get excited once he saw the box of them arrive at our house. Unfortunately he passed away a few months ago, so I probably won't be purchasing these again for a very long time, but I highly recommend them to anyone else with a medicine-dependent dog. The ones sized for capsules are good for fitting 2 or 3 smaller pills into one pocket, therefore making the pack last longer. But for longer capsules you may have to use one pocket on each end and seal in the middle to fully disguise the medicine; they stick together well with just a quick pinch.

Have NOT tried yet, but LOVE the idea and quality!

Came on time. Thankfully, I bought these for emergencies when I have to give him medicine for vomiting so we haven’t had to use them yet. However, shipping was extremely quick. The treats are fresh and they smell good! Plus I love that you can close the little open side on the treat so the dog can’t knock out the medicine! Only complaint is the bag is smaller than expected for the price, but if a little treat makes the medicine goes down, who can complain on spending a few extra dollars? Love them! Will update review after I have given my dog one, but these seem like a genuis idea with a very basic treat as the base. I’m extremely strict about the ingredients in my dog’s food or treats and all these ingredients meet my requirements! Very happy and excited to try them out! I have posted a picture with the treat bag (upopened) next to a roll of scotch tape for reference. :)

CATS Love it TOO!

I have a cat with Epilepsy and he needs pill medication twice a day. For cats they only have a tiny, very small variety so I purchased the Pill Pockets for dogs in other flavors not found for CATS and boy am I glad I did! My CATS (three in total) are in LOVE with the Peanut Butter flavor. I love providing a flavor variety for him. The dog sizes are way larger so I just break off little pieces for his pill and it works out for everyone in the end! He takes his pill without knowing it, as he thinks he is just getting a well scheduled treat, Win-Win! I love, Love, LOVE the Greenies brand as well, and this seller ships fast.

These are amazing!! My dog is smart as heck and can somehow eat everything around a pill but not the pill when I used bread, cheese, hot dogs for pills. With these I put the pill in squeeze it tight and hold it above his head. This part is key w my dog. He knows that this treat tastes good so he’s ready for it. When his head is up and I have the treat at his nose he opens his mouth and will swallow it down. If I just let him eat it out of my hand he’ll eat it but if he might chew and if he does and feels the pill he’ll magically get it out and swallow the treat part. Note the treat smells really good to dogs so when I hold it above his nose and squeeze it flat he’ll swallow quickly to get his treat. A lot of times I can pull the treat into two parts and squeeze one part around the treat making it smaller and more easy and quick to swallow down. No more anxiety knowing that he HAS to swallow this but is looking at me like ‘this ain’t gonna happen’. 😥😥 🤔🤔🤔 Highly recommended.

My dogs love these. My smaller mut has acid reflux and gets a pill every morning. I give them to her in the peanut butter flavored pill pockets right after our morning walk. If I forget, or get distracted on our way back into the house, she immediately reminds me. My other dog gets an empty pill pocket just as a treat at the same time and also absolutely loves it. I highly recommend them. The pill pockets are a great size for the pills my dog needs. They are pliable enough that I can easily pinch the top; but still hold their shape well, even after shipping. I think I've only ever had 1 broken in each bag (even broken though, they easily reform around the pill).

Thank you for making these! They make my life so much easier. My little Sophie (14 year old Maltese) has heart issues and takes two medications twice a day. This dog will come to me and paw at me to remind me to give her her meds!!! No joke! She LOVES them. She loved the beef ones but the peanut butter.. WOW.. that is her favorite. I just drop her meds in the Pill Pocket and I pinch it in half so she thinks she is getting an extra treat and she LOVE it! I have tried to give her medicine before by putting it in her mouth (dropping it toward the back of her throat, etc...) but this dog has some Houdini way of spitting it out EVERY SINGLE TIME... no more of that for us! Thanks to these little gems!!

When you have to trick your dog

These pill pockets are a heaven sent. When you have tried cheese, hot dogs, peanut butter and anything else that could hide a pill your pet needs. They are a treat for the baby and my two don't even hesitate to take their medicine this way. There are different sizes and flavors, I do buy the large one so I can hide the Flea pill also. I used to get these at the Vet but the price through Amazon is much better. I have those on automatic ordering and will never run out of them.

Great for that picky pet

My dogs love them I have one that takes medication every day with the pocket it's really easy. The price is better then the vet, or store.We have been using these for a couple years. One of our dogs gets 2 small "capsules" twice a day, and I've been able to use a single pill pocket each time. You should be able to stick multiple pills in the pocket and then "form" the pill pocket around them into a ball. Using these may seem like an expensive way to go, but these are much cheaper than using real peanut butter or cheese, etc. The "peanut butter" flavor is the only one we will buy. The other flavors are either a bit slimy or smell terrible. The dogs don't care of course, they'll eat any of them. Deducted one star because we occasionally get a few that are a little dried out and aren't as easy to work with for multiple pills. If you found my review helpful please like it. Thank you.
