This is a great document storage fire resistant safe and the price is reasonable. It's not a anti theft safe or a gun safe and the small lock is just to keep the lid sealed. This is exactly what it is, fire resistant but not water proof. Opt for the next model if you need the waterproof feature. Get a real safe for your valuables and guns and stop complaining you can pick the lock. Never designed as a anti theft safe. It is fairly heavy so I can see damage being done to it by a shipper if dropped. I could never fault the company or product if it was broken as some of the customers have. These are pretty cheap locks, so I would suggest a little WD40, silicone or equiv. sprayed into the lock which may help with the stiffness on some.

This makes the second SentrySafe we have purchased. Nothing has happened to the first one. We just needed a second one. It is heavy and very protective. BEST FIREPROOF SAFE, Competitively Priced

This is a GREAT fire proof safe, best I've owned and I've owned 3 different ones.. It withstands Higher Temperatures for Longer Periods of time than most other FireProof Safes that cost 15-28% more.. It is Plenty Big for the General user.. I had to send my first one back because the locking latch was the wrong one, for that model, I couldn't Lock it.. The return process from Amazon was as usual a (Pain Free) process, they sent me a return shipping label and a Replacement was shipped the next day...

Solid Product

I love the size of this safe. It fits perfectly in the corner of my office. It's not too heavy, and fits most of my important documents and some small valuables. I have no doubt it would hold up in a fire or some other kind of emergency. Comes with two keys attached to the handle via a plastic wire that can be clipped off. I have left mine on the handle, because I am only using this safe for means of fire proof.

Good storage for important papers

There is more than enough room inside this safe to store all the important papers that ordinarily would go into a safe deposit box. Having the papers at home makes it much easier to consult a date or name. The safe is a bit heavy so keep that in mind for moving it around. We store it on top of a half file cabinet and that makes it very easy to open/close and get inside. Haven't had occasion to test it out for fire safety, but it looks as though it could withstand a blaze that didn'.t flash over

these boxes are excellent for what they are designed to do. Provide fire protection for documents that are irreplaceable. they wont keep a thief out so dont expect it to be a safe. Cheaper and more access than a bank vault for papers you need quick access to. Mine has a Free replacement if involved in fire.

Good for the price point

Like a ton of other reviewers have written, this is small. If you plan on using it more than for Passports, **folded birth certificates, social security cards, and maybe a few thumbdrives then you will be disappointed. **Folded is an important adjective - this box is not big enough to store an unfolded sheet of paper. I have no idea how well this would work for any of the intended uses. I will say as a theft deterrent it would do nothing more than alert a criminal of where important documents are stored.

HEAVY!

I bought this for my son and his wife to keep his military papers, taxes and their important paperwork safe and easy to find. 4 stars only because this is a VERY heavy box and is hard to pick up as it has no handle or indentions that allow a good grip on either side. That being said, once you have a place for it....there it stays! It holds vertical hanging file folders, which is perfect for my intentional use of this product.

Sturdy and affordable FIREPROOF box

This product is exactly what I was looking for: a nice, sturdy, and affordable fireproof lock box with just enough room for the smaller essentials i.e. cash & important documents. The handle seems semi-flimsy for the weight of the box, but I plan on keeping it hidden & stationary so that doesn't really matter to me. Made by SentrySafe, so you know it's resilient and reliable. Keep in mind, this isn't a SAFE but simply a sturdy FIREPROOF box. Won't protect from potential thieves. A++ for my purposes.
