This was very easy to assemble the handle and extremely easy for me a 165 pound woman with average strength and arthritis hands to use. It moved a ton of snow easily and quickly after the blizzard we just had and I’m so happy I bought this it made it a lot easier and it uses electricity which for me is preferable to gas. Bought the outdoor extension cord and reel separately here.

Works like a champ. I just used it for the first time and love it. I live in an area known as a snow belt so I know how to deal with snow. I've done it all from hand shoveling my own driveway to using monster sized snow blowers to paying someone to do it all for me. Would I want to use this to clear my entire driveway?...Not a chance!!! So why did I buy it? Two reasons---to clear my porch and walkway and to clear the 18 inches in front of the garage door that the plow can't reach. I want to address some of the negative comments that I've seen: 1. The description clearly states that it has snow depth restrictions...if the snow is deeper than that make two or three passes---I used the same motion that I use with my vacuum cleaner and cleared about 9" deep snow in two passes. 2. The cord kept coming undone--all I can say is-it's a corded power tool...... Tie a loose knot in the cord like you would for any other power tool--problem solved. 3. The cord gets in the way...anyone who has ever run a vacuum cleaner knows how to keep the cord out of the way. If you don't want to deal with the cord then buy a gas powered one. Think vacuum cleaner--machine in one hand cord in the other...flip it behind you as go. problem solved. 4. It only blows snow in one direction and blows back in your face. Yup... It's a shovel, not a snow blower with a rotating shoot. Would you spit into the wind? Shift directions. It's common sense 5. Throwing power. I found that it threw the snow about the same distance as my snowblower. It does only throw in one direction so yes, to get across the two car driveway you are clearing the last foot or so twice but still considerably less work than a regular shovel. 6. Some have said that it's too heavy.....the machine itself is not heavy---but you're still clearing snow and snow is heavy. Any healthy adult would find the Snow Joe to be much less back breaking than a regular shovel. If someone thinks that clearing snow with the Snow Joe is still too too heavy then it's time to hire the neighbor kid to do the snow removal for you. 7. It's too difficult to keep the button pushed... I don't understand that at all. I had no problems what-so ever. You just have to keep your thumb on one button which is plenty large enough to feel. And if you accidentally let go you don't need to do anything more than pull the trigger--it takes more energy to restart my lawnmower when I accidentally let go of the bar,, Overall it turned a 30-45 minute manual back-breaking job into a 10 minute "didn't-even-break-a-sweat" job. I would highly recommend Snow Joe as a replacement to your regular shovel. I can't say anything about durability as I've only used it once. I can say that for the price, if it only gets me through one season it's still less money than paying someone to do it for me.

It took about 5 - 7 minutes to get this baby out of the box and fully assembled. I love that. Now I'm waiting for another vortex blizzard like snow event. Come on snow - make my day!. FYI, I also have this Snow Joe's little brother, the 7 amp version, which was amazing at cleaning up after the recent snow events in New York. I bought the 7 amp version for my mom who is 67 yrs old because it is so light. This one is light too. I used the 7 amp to clear the front of my house and my neighbors house..just a little neighborly love. The 7 amp version cleaned my driveway, fit between the car and the house without issues. It was so great that I cleared snow down to the blacktop at the street. And fast...my neighbor and I were the first to get our houses completely cleared of 10 - 12 inches of snow while the men were still huffing and puffing. I joked, that I was able to move the snow with one hand and drink a latte with the other while conducting business on a wireless phone. I got this one because between my neighbor, my mom, and me...we're gonna be rocking snow removal in record breaking time. Ohhhh by the way, all the ladies on the block marveled at the slick little device that i handled like a vacuum cleaner - they all stopped to watch. To show off I even freed a couple of men's cars that were buried in snow in front of my house. Don't give yourself a heart attack moving heavy snow...Get a Snow Joe instead.

Works very well. I didn't have any problems with assembly. Insert the bolt that joins the two sections of the handle, look through the opening and wiggle the bolt so it pushes the connecting wires out of the way. BTW the wires look well protected so I'm sure the manufacturer is aware of any problems with the wire. The machine definitely throws snow and with a bit of practice, putting the snow where you want won't be a problem. Just remember you have to throw the snow "down wind" otherwise it will blow back into your face. (this is common with all snow throwers). The "price" was definitely "right" and it is a lot easier to use than a big gasoline powered machine. Just don't let the snow get too deep and it should do fine.

Being 69 years old in snow county at 8600 foot elevation in the Colorado Rockies, I was tired of all the shoveling on my decks and steps. This is an amazing snow shower and expedites the snow clearing. It is still a litter heavy for me, but much better than shoveling. I tried to use it to clear around my cars but it was much harder to push through the snow with the same snow fall. I assume the snow on ground set up denser. I bought the Snow Joe Ultra SJ623E 18-Inch 15-Amp Electric Snow Thrower with Light (at Amazon) to do the ground level. That snow thrower also works amazingly well. Now I am set for my older age with my current 24" MDB 2-stage gas snow thrower and my plow truck. Yes, we get a LOT of snow.

The Snow Joe is just plain awesome! I purchased the electric version in order to save money, but probably regret it due to having to manage the chord in the snow. It isn't horrible or anything, but having no chord would certainly be easier. Otherwise, this thing just chomps through snow without an issue. It is great for decks or walkways, just be careful with loose rubble/stones, which the device does not like very much. Be aware that device is somewhat heavy if you have A LOT of clean up to do. Most people could handle the weight, but it isn't recommended for an older person or anyone that would struggle with managing weight.

This electric snow blower is somewhat like a weed wacker for snow, you run it across the top of the snow and it blows it away. It is somewhat heavy, but for the price, it really does a great job. This is best suited for small driveways and sidewalks. Nevertheless, I managed to clean off my driveway, which had about 5 inches of snow on it, in about a half an hour. You do have to watch out for the electric cord and make sure you don't get it in the way and get it caught up in the front blades. However, if you have other electric yard items, this is a given. The Snow Joe is very well made and I am very happy with my purchase.

I adore this. Everyone told me not to bother to buy an electric shovel. That it wouldn't have enough "omph" that it would clog, that it wouldn't do the job. This workhorse can do it. I never try to do 12 inches of snow at once but go out and have a quick go when it is only 4 inches deep or maybe a little deeper. I could never do my front walk, off my back deck or the area in front of my garage just by hand, but this one does the trick. My husband is thinking of ordering a second one for this year, so we can be done double quick.

My husband's loves this snow shovel, even more than his snow blower. Easy to store and works good for snow up to 6 inches. Our neighbors asked us where we purchased it and we told many friends about it.

We live in the upper peninsula of Michigan so we get about 2 feet of snow or more easily. We use this on our back deck to clear a path for our dog to go outside and to get some of the weight off the deck from so much heavy snow. It's about as loud as a vacuum and it is powerful! It's just like using a broom only it shoots snow probably 15 feet! Often we have to be careful of where we are aiming it because we covered our neighbor's deck in snow once! Works quickly and is very lightweight! Very easy to use and I'm sure that if it can handle the heavy Michigan snow it can handle your snow too!
