How to keep your riser from moving around on your toilet

Many reviewers state that they cannot keep the riser from moving around when sitting on their toilet.This can be easily fixed by putting double sided bonding tape on the top of the toilet where the riser meets the toilet when the bolt holes are aligned.I put tape across the back and on both sides of my toilet.I am 6'2" tall and weigh 200 lbs.While sitting on my toilet and leaning as much as a 45 degree angle my toilet seat and riser don't move at all.Rock solid.All it took was three pieces of bonding tape. Your toilet looks more like a regular toilet not a medical one!

When looking for a raised toilet seat I wanted one that wouldn't look medical, but still be able to support heavier weight. This one is perfect for what I was looking for. I like that it hinges so you don't have to remove it for cleaning. I love that I can use a regular toilet seat with a lid! This was so important because we needed to raise the height of an older toilet that is plumbed and hangs on the wall. They are extremely expensive to replace, but this one was so low that when I injured myself (labral tear in hip and buldging disc in back) I had difficulty getting up and off the toilet. I am still in my thirties and didn’t want friends coming over and using a guest powder room that looked like a hospital room. Thank you for making an item that blends in better than any other! I can now get up and off our toilet much easier. When my mother visits this will be of great use to her as well since she has had both knees and a hip replaced.

sturdy and versatile

This toilet riser is working great. I like that you can put a regular seat on top so its more comfortable than the big plastic risers. The men in the house like it too because they can lift it up to stand and do business without making a mess. Its also very sturdy and easy to clean. Good option for long term use.

Great for a broken foot during non-weight bearing time

From reading reviews here on Amazon, I ordered this + some strong double sided tape. I think the tape made all the difference as it does come loose from time to time, but the tape really helps keep it from sliding around too much. Overall, the product is much more sturdy than the handled options. We had a handled one from a relative, but it was so unsteady that I just tried it and rejected it immediately. I like that you can screw in your original toilet seat on top of this. the included screws are plenty long and should work for almost any toilet seat. My only complaint is that my son used his shoe to raise this extension and the stain marks from his shoe will not come out. I've tried everything from Mr. Clean to Oxyclean and the shoe imprint is still there, faded, but still visible.

This seat is great help for senior Mom

This seat is great help for senior Mom. Built well. New long hold down bolts are beefy. The screw head is actually too large in diameter to close the little plastic covers on the existing toilet seat. I will be shopping for a new seat that works better with this setup. I will also reinstall the base using double face tape under the base of the height exteneder before I bolt it down. I do this on all toilet seats because it helps the wiggle problem most seats have due to plastic bolts loosining over time. Install tape so it is completely hidden. Cut around seat mounts with a utility knife. Makes like a gasket. Overall this product is exactly as expected , built well, looks good, and is the perfect solution to knee replacement candidate.

Good toilet-seat riser, with one suggestion for happiness

Several other reviews mentioned this moving around. We've had it for several months and have had zero problems, but when I installed it, I re-used the nuts with a cone-shaped, self-centering edge from the prior toilet seat, rather than the washer and flat nuts that came with the riser reviewed here, and it made a big difference. Tightened more firmly, and keeps the nuts from moving around at all, which could loosen them over time.

Great riser

I have a muscular myopathy that makes it hard to get up out of a seated position. We have one of those dumb kid sized toilets in one of our bathrooms. I have no idea why these are even installed into homes. I attached this riser. Fits well, cleans easily and allows for me to get up off the toilet with ease.

Hygenic

I had a different seat riser that you literally had to take and unscrew the seat to clean.. Nasty to do so. I found this one that had the seat you could lift up and I highly recommend this product. Your regular seat screws down on top and you may use it that way. Plus the best part is that the riser also lifts up for easy cleaning. Much more hygienic. I recommend this type of riser.

Looks good.

Decent product. Saved me from replacing the stupid, low sitting toilet in this house, at least this year. The 3.5 model might be a bit tall for shorter people, maybe the 2.5 inch product would be a better choice. The lady of the house says her feet don't touch the floor and she's about 5' 2".
