I am diabetic and need to exercise and eat right to keep my blood sugar at healthy levels. I got a Fitbit as a gift from my wife (and lost it). She gave me a black one, which is really hard to see if it comes loose, so I replaced it with the green one. The picture here is of the pink one, but I got the neon green one, which really isn't as vibrant a neon green as the picture would suggest. It's more like an Army-issue olive drab green, but it's still easier to see than the black one. I'm using this to help me lose weight, too, and I'd lost 20 pounds prior to getting the Fitbit. Since then, it's kept me aware of when I slack off on my walking and as a result I've managed to drop another 10+ pounds. I recommend clipping it in your pocket as low as it will go, otherwise it gets in the way. The black one I lost was carried loose in my pocket and I'm sure at some point I got out my keys or something and it fell and I didn't hear it fall. The big trick is remembering to take it off at night at bedtime and put it on the pants I wear the next day. I don't really use the calorie counter or the mileage/distance function, since there's no way to adjust it to my normal stride. So, I just keep track of my steps. If you have a laptop or PC, this comes with a "dongle" that plugs into a USB port and you can sync it daily to a "dashboard" that keeps track of your daily steps on a weekly or monthly basis. It also keeps a running total of steps and I'm well over 200,000 in the 6 weeks I've been using this. More than anything this is useful as a reminder to myself to get up and MOVE and not sit down watching TV or reading too much. I may get a wrist Fitbit at some point, but for now this is just great. You pay a few dollars more for the neon green than you do for the black one, but IMHO it's worth the money just so you can find the darn thing easier! I am having fun with this and highly recommend it for those of you (myself included) who may not walk as much as we should. I'm literally walking the pounds off!

I had a FitBit One that I lost. Because they're so small - seriously - no idea where it went. This doesn't have the altimeter which I kind of miss, but for this price, I feel much better about replacing it if it disappears again. The color is completely accurate and it does not fall out of the case as easily as my One did. Frequently, when I put the One on, the actual FitBit popped out of the case. Doesn't happen with this one. So there's this disk in there... it's supposed to help you take off the back to put in the battery. Did not realize that at first. Feel pretty dumb. Honestly, the best thing you can do to increase your daily walking steps is to get a FitBit - find friends who have a FitBit and challenge them. I have a small group that we do a weekly challenge, a weekend challenge, a day challenge - I swear I love the motivation this thing gives me. Even if it's just to pace while I'm on the phone at work. I work a desk job so seeing that someone just reported 2,000 more steps is a great motivator to get me to get up and take a walk to a farther bathroom or just around the building.

I have had several Fitbit products. This one is ranked, for me, one of the highest. This is around 50ish dollars and is just as good as some of the higher priced items at Fitbit. I love that it is little and can be put almost anywhere. I thought I would only like wearing a tracker on my wrist, but I was wrong. I like hooking it on my bra and forgetting about it. My favorite feature is not having to charge it. It has a watch battery inside so you eventually will have to replace that. but trust me when I say not having to worry about getting it charged every few days is nice. Another fun feature is it being able to sync to your computer or smart phone. This is handy as you cannot see the Zip screen in low light or the dark. It would be helpful if it had lit screen, but for 50 dollars you can just look on your phone to see how many steps or miles you have gone. If you are thinking about getting a tracker and you don't want to sell your first born to purchase one, this one will do. Its not the fanciest but it gets the job done. I did receive this item for free for review purposes.

I participated in a "walkathon" to raise money for a dog rescue and bought this so I could keep up with the other women in the group. I love this! First of all- the color is fantastic! It's really simple to set up and use. The app is great. I kept this on my belt loop when walking around and on my sports bra when working out. Gave me all the info I needed. And just having it on made me walk more. I needed to get my steps! (Also bc I'm competitive and wanted to be one of the top walkers! Lol.) The only con was that I had a bit of a hard time getting the back open to put the battery in. I forgot the little "key" at home and tried to pry it open with a coin and some other stuff. No go. I wish it was easier to get open. Also I don't know how to figure out when the battery needs to be changed. I kept worrying I was going to use it up. Though that's probably silly as I'd only used it for 2 weeks at that point. Get it! A cheaper alternative to the other versions and, at least for me, did all the things that I wanted it to.

Really liked this little Fitbit Zip. Received 9/11/2014. As of 10//06/2014 the silicone handle tip has broken, exposing two metal clips. I am not happy! Emailed Customer Service on 10/06/2014, and have yet to get a response. I think I will be returning. A shame because this was a great motivator for me. Kept me moving. I have no patience for poor customer service retailers. Will pack it up and return. 10/24/14 Emailed by Customer Service. Have been notified they will send a replacement cover. 10/29/14 replacement received, I take it back, Customer Service is Very Good. I am happy with their response to my needs. Thank You Fitbit! Changed 3star to 4 star review. 6/22/2017 this fit bit served me well since 09/2014. Was very accurate. Had a problem with battery not working when replaced once. Customer service sent me detailed instructions on how to fix it. I lost it, I am so sad. I thought I would now upgrade to Charge 2. Will be returning. It is not as accurate as the zip. I sat on my couch waving my arm and racked up steps. I am going right back to the zip. Not as many bells and whistles, but the accurate count is what I am looking for.

This was a Christmas gift for my mother and she loved/loves it. She wears it every single day and absolutely adores how it keeps track of her steps. It's helped her become more active because she wants to keep beating the amount of steps she had on the previous day. She's not only WALKING, she even tries to jog a little bit here and there (with what she can handle because of really bad knees)!!! She loves it that she can get online, add friends, talk to people, see where she was and where she is, etc. It's helped her to become part of a community of sorts. This little fitbit has changed her life and you know what? It's made her proud of herself. How can you give enough stars for that? My father and I are proud of her too. But THAT'S not what's important - it's the pride in herself that is. I love seeing her smile and going, "YES!" when she looks at the fitbit and when she syncs it and logs in on the computer. It's not just her that loves the fitbit, it's me too...because it's made my mom happy with herself once again. The fitbit itself is a great color - the magenta is very bright (and pretty -- she likes that too lol). It works perfectly. She has had zero issues with it. She's not very technologically inclined, but even she was able to change the battery all by herself (GO, MOM!!). It connected to the computer exactly like it should have and it's been syncing properly from day one. It's the perfect size because it's compact and it doesn't get in the way - another plus for her, she says. I think you know where I'm going with this lol. I HIGHLY recommend the Fitbit Zip Wireless Activity Tracker. And my mother does too. I know that some people have had issues with it, hate the size of it, love how other ones do more and have way more bells and whistles, but for me, this one is perfect because of what it's done for my mom and because of it's size, because of the app and computer resources, and because it DOES do everything it promises to do. It's not just hype. It's a fulfillment. Fitbit Zip Wireless Activity Tracker, Magenta

I love, love, love this Fitbit. I wear it every single day. I am a school bus driver, so having a Fitbit that is worn on the wrist is not really feasible as it tends to read "steps" when I am steering the bus. This Zip does also add some steps, but it is not as bad as the others. I don't need all of the other extras that the more expensive Fitbits offer, so this Fitbit is exactly what I wanted. I wanted to be able to easily see how many steps I take a day. The other information, ie: Calories burned, distance walked, etc., is great and simply some added extras for me. This Fitbit is so easy to use, simply hook it onto my waistband of my pants and I am good to go. It syncs with my smartphone or my computer, whichever I choose to use, and I can keep updated all day long. I absolutely love having the option to do "Challenges" with people who I have on my friend's list. In my case I have my son and daughter-in-law and I love it when I beat them both in a challenge. If anything were to happen to this Zip, I would absolutely buy another one. I have recommended this particular Fitbit to friends and family as well.

I love the simplicity of the Fitbit Zip. I've actually been using it for years and this one is a replacement that Fitbit actually provided to me as I had some issues with the last one (they stand behind their products). I love the Zip because I can hide it within my clothes (I usually attach it to my bra), so I don't have to wear a bracelet all the time (since I'm particular about my jewelry, the other models just aren't appealing to me to have to wear ALL the time). I just never know the Fitbit Zip is there, seriously light weight. I use mine to calculate my daily miles, more so than my steps, so it works well for me. However, I'm a runner and I will say it's not accurate in that department as your running stride is greater than your steps. But I use my Endomondo App for running, and you can adjust that activity for your Fitbit on line easily in the Activities section. It's an encouraging piece of device that I now can't seem to live without. P.S. Plus it's EXTREMELY well made, have forgotten about it a few times and it's been through the wash -- still working!!!

I didn't want to commit to the watch because: 1) I wasn't sure I would stick with this, 2) I wash my hands OCD style all day long and 3) it was so much more expensive. So I opted for this little guy and a silicone watch adapter also purchased on Amazon so that I could turn it into a watch whenever I wanted. I still prefer the clip style though. The best part about this is the app, which granted I could have used without the FitBit. However, with the iPhone version I still don't carry my iPhone every step of every day. Every step counts y'all. It is so worth it to have this guy and since it fits so tightly to my clothes I don't think about it at all, until I check the numbers. It is very motivating to have your friends know each day how many steps you took. It is the best part - peer pressure can finally work for us people! It is a very simple machine with a digital display that tells you: calories burned, steps taken, miles walked, and the time. I felt that the display was larger than the watches so I could read it more easily. I usually just flip it up from my pocket and I can read it quite easily from that distance. I'm very happy with this choice.

This is my third Fitbit (second Zip) and I won't be using anything else. I tried a few of the cheaper trackers and they were no where close to correct and one didn't work at all. Fitbit has never let me down. The Zip is a watered down version of their other trackers but for the price it was a perfect choice for me as all I need to track are steps. The color makes it easy to spot if I lay it down and the new design has been amazing. My first Zip fell off a few times but the new clip is so tight I don't have to worry about it. I have noticed that the most accurate spot is on my pants pocket, they show it can be worn on a bra strap but when doing that I lost about half the steps.
