This Dutch Oven is not only utilitarian but makes a great presentation on your dining table! When cooking, it provides even heat, a very useful size and not too much weight when full. (I have a 7 qt. Dutch Oven which is too heavy when full) The best part is the reasonable price for a high-quality Dutch Oven. If you're not in the market to invest in Le Creuset, this is a great choice that gets good marks for the ratings sites. UPDATE: After a year and several uses I would rate this a 3 as the top chips from placing the lid on it. I have 2 chips at this point from about 5 uses. I wouldn't worry except that the porcelain ends up in the food! The first chip I guess we ate (!) but I caught the second and removed it. This does cause concern about feeding guests tainted food.

It just arrived undamaged and packaged well. I have not used it but inspected it carefully. It is beautiful and the lid fits well. I’m looking forward to cooking and serving in it. It looks to be adequate for most braises.

A show stopper beautifully unique cast iron braiser. The oval shape is great for cooking delicious fish! Cooks evenly and goes right to the table with its handy and sleek trivet.

This cast iron pan is extremely heavy, however it cooks evenly and clean up is amazingly easy. I feel good about using this pan because of the recent concerns around nonstick coated pans and the potential health hazards from the coating that could leech into foods. Again, the only down side is the weight. You need to use care not to drop it on the stove top if your top is glass and care around the sink to avoid chipping your sink. Overall it has become one of my favorite pans to use. I have the taller one for soups and gravy and it works great too. This one just happens to work better for foods that need to be turned like meatballs and chicken breasts.

Beautifully packaged. Received timely.

Beautiful cookware. Much nicer than anticipated.

Beautiful cookware. I would love to know if there is more in this series.
