I have a steep lawn and it is often wet when I try to mow. My Cub Cadet with standard wheels would slip, stall, spin the tires, and was hard to control on steep slopes. The Terragrips are great! No more spinning. Great traction even on wet ground, and they don't tear up my driveway or lawn like regular tire chains would. The only issue I might have is that the Terragrips are a little loose on my 20x9-8 wheels. After two or three uses, I tightened the chains up again, inflated the tires, and have had no problem since. If the ground is soft, however, and you manage to spin the tires, they will tear up the grass. Overall this is a great product - well made and durable. I've had these for three months and I can see that they should last for several years. They are a little more expensive than regular tire chains, but they are well worth it. I highly recommend them.

Chicago just experienced about 36 hours of snow of which the first 20 hours had ground temperatures of 32-35 degrees. The snow was very wet to start, and then of course it froze making the surface below the snow very slick. This is my first season with these rubber tire "chains" and I couldn't be happier. I read other reviews here & elsewhere about metal chains working better, and while that may be very well true, I didn't want to damage my driveway. I hoped this product would be "good enough", and I'm here to say they are. I couldn't be happier. I threw snow going up slight hills where I never could before. I backed up slight grades where I never could before, and these conditions were pretty bad. The wheels still slip a bit, but to be fair, even metal chains still slip. Going slower provided the best traction in those situations, and at least I knew that I wasn't scraping up my driveway when they did slip. Without being able to do a side-by-side comparison of metal chains to this product on the same day in the same conditions, I don't think anyone can say how much better metal chains might be. I can say with certainty these worked for me. These still slip, but so do metal chains, and these were a tremendous, tremendous improvement over the plain tires. If anyone cares, I have a Deere x324 and put two of the suitcase weights on the back and the snow thrower on the front.

Finally can drive on the asphalt and garage floor without tearing them up. Often clear my neighbors driveway but noticed last year that my chains were leaving marks on his and my driveway. Had to get it sealed to get rid of the marks. Wished I had these years ago. They go on much easier than normal chains. Some say you don’t get as much traction but I haven’t had any issues. Even so, went ahead and added some extra weight on the back end of the tractor for those really slick days.

I purchased a set of Terragrip for my Craftsman riding mower. It is a 26 hp Kohler with a 54" deckcould, traditional style mower. Before, if you turned to sharp, even in dry grass, one tire would spin and the other would just sit there. Unbelievabley aggravating!!! Before I would get well started cutting my 2 acre yard, I was already very agrrivated and normally had lost my religion at least a few times! Aside from that, if we got than just a light shower, or the ground was just a little too soft, I usually stood a better than average chance of getting stuck in my front yard, just as I did a few weeks back. I had almost completely lost faith in my mower, and was desperately trying to come up with a solution when I saw a site with Terragrips. After watching at least a dozen videos and reading a bunch of reviews, I decided to order a set. Now, anyone who lives in central Louisiana knows how wet it has been the last couple of months, with no real end to the rain in sight. When I received y new set of Terragrip a couple weeks ago, I put them on as soon as I came home from my two week hitch. It has been raining almost everyday for the last two weeks. My front front yard was like a swamp or marshland and the ground was like a sponge. I said "Well, if I can cut the entire front yard without getting stuck, I've got it made." Much to my amazement, I succeeded! The back tires of my mower never even spun or lost traction! The only time I had a little bet of an issue was when I had to stop ant turn right in the middle of one of the softest spots in the yard. With very little effort the Terragrips caught fractions and I was able to keep going! Within an hours and a half I was able to finish cutting the whole yard. This is an absolutely AMAZING, OUTSTANDING PRODUCT. O highly recommend it to anyone wit similar problems!

Really easy to put on and I'm assuming to take off, but I'll be leaving these on all year to test it out. I have some steep hills on my property so I need the extra traction. These are a lot nicer looking then all chains, much easier to put on and I've had no problems with marks on my property. I use my garden tractor as a general purpose light utility vehicle on my property, even when its rained, and I've not had any negative experiences. If you need new chains, or interested in some new ones, these are really nice.

I ended up returning this size set of Terragrips and getting the 22.5x9.5-12 Terragrips. Both Terragrips state that they fit 20x10-8 Std tires (which is what my mower has). However, there was no way these would fit on my current tires. Even after letting air out of the tires, the chains were still several inches short. The larger size fit snug and tight using the second chain link (these are adjustable). We just got another 4 inches of snow, so I was able to test out the larger size Terragrips while plowing the sidewalk and driveway. The ride is bumpy (to be expected), but the Terragrips worked great in the snow (up and down hill in forward or reverse). Hopefully they hold up well and provide the same assistance in mud and soft ground in spring/summer/fall.

Have a 1996 Cub Cadet 2155 lawn tractor with mower deck and 2 stage snow blower. Previously used metal chains on the older concrete driveway but have a new concrete drive. Don't want to damage the new concrete with metal chains so wanted try the rubber chains. The last 9 inch snowfall started as freezing rain first so there is ice on the concrete. Traction is bad with the Cub Cadet with bare tires and have been stuck in the driveway. Had more snow today, used the rubber chains with the slippery ice underneath, no loss of traction now or getting stuck, the only negative the rubber chain ride is bouncy so reduced my speed to the minimum but can put up with that. To install jacked up the rear of the lawn tractor so the wheels were free and deflated the tires. Tire size was 20X9-8 with Cub Cadet brand tires, used the tightest link settings inside and out of the rubber chains, worked the chains around the tires evenly and re inflated the tires to 15 lbs, chains tightened up nicely added a short bungy cord across each wheel chain though the bunge cords are probably not needed.

I purchased these as the old tire chains I had on my John Deere would slip when trying to plow my blacktop driveway, once I installed these TerraGrips it was night and day difference. The TerraGrips installed with ease and we just got 6+ inches of snow and there was no slippage with tires and pushed the snow with ease. These are a great product and would recommend to anyone with a blacktop or concrete drive way as these give you more traction and do not leave marks like the chains would.

I write very few product reviews but felt compelled to say a good word about these TerraGrips. I live in the Ozark foothills, quite literally on 12 acres of steep hillside. Until I had the TerraGrips, mowing was quite literally a hazardous experience of not so controlled sliding (not fun on an 850lb mower and many trees on the slope). I installed the TerraGrips and they work perfectly. Great traction at all times, with no sliding. Plus no damage to my lawn or driveway. Great product!

I bought these chains (actually, they are not chains, but heavy rubber strips connected by chains on either side of the tire) for two reasons: I did not want to scratch my concrete driveway (as regular chains will with tire spin) when I use my JD garden tractor for snow removal, and, my yard is on a hillside and quite often it is difficult to get uphill traction on either wet or very DRY grass. Well I can report that the Terragrips do not scratch the concrete on my drive, AND they get incredible traction on uphill slopes (about a 25 degree uphill grade)-- I was amazed at how well they work. They took all of about 10 minutes per wheel to put on (relatively easy procedure, and that time will be reduced now that I've done it once) and the difference was immediate. On concrete the ride is a little bumpy, but I'll trade that in favor of uphill traction when mowing. I would caution that I would NOT recommend their use on extremely saturated turf (2 days of heavy rain as you'll probably get some wheel spin). I would highly recommend these as a chain replacement for a lawn or garden tractor. Wayne
