How can you not love a pan that holds oil? It also holds tears and your hopes of being a rugged manly dude, when you realize changing your oil seems simple to everyone but yourself. I mean, come on, how hard is it now to not spill oil when putting it in? Apparently, really frickin' hard. I've got steady hands from being a photographer, but I don't have brain surgeon style shakeless hands. At least the pan is big enough to just pull the bottom plug and not miss. Just buy it if you need a good pan. You won't have any regrets.

I can't remember the last time I did an oil change without spilling a single drop of used motor oil when transferring it back into a container for disposal. There are hundreds of oil drain pans on the market, but it seems like every single designer is unaware that users have to pour oil out of the drain pan into another container. I've used flimsy drain pans that can't even keep their shape when full of oil, pans with spouts that seem like a cruel joke, and catchbasin type pans that appear to be designed specifically to deflect your stream of used oil everywhere but into the basin. Even otherwise well-designed pans have a hard time avoiding some drips when transferring oil. This pan is not like any of those other pans. This is a very large oil pan, so even if you are changing a vehicle with a large oil capacity, it won't be full to the brim. There is a large molded lip (with handles!) on the top edge that keeps oil in while pouring and directs it to the molded-in spout. This spout is connected to the interior of the pan, so there is no opportunity for drips to sneak over the edges of the spout while pouring. This pan is thick and fairly rigid, so it won't buckle with oil in it. I am extremely satisfied with this oil pan. The only time I don't use it for changing any of my vehicles or small engine yard equipment is on my smaller engines where this pan is too big to fit near the oil drain location. The only drawback is the fairly complex shapes on the interior of the pan (including the interior of the molded lip and spout) that make it difficult to wipe clean when I'm finished with an oil change, but that is a small price to pay for an actual high quality oil pan with a spout that doesn't drip oil all over the place.

What's really to say about this? Basically a plastic bucket with the spout. I've used many different kinds of oil catch pans with lids caps etc. That being said, this is by far the most sturdy pan I've used. Also the easiest to pour the oil into another container from. I order the 5 quart containers of oil on Amazon and the spout on this pan is very easy to stick inside those and put my used oil back in that container for recycling. You do need to stuff a rag in the spot when you're done, or else you will do it drips from it

This drain pan is solid and easy to use as others have said, but you also need a good container for collection and transfer. I bought a Baytec 5 gallon steel bucket and installed Banjo fittings and caps in the two threaded holes. The drain pan spout fits directly into the large hole. The small hole allows air to flow so oil goes in and out without chugging and splashing. No more mess! Baytec Bucket: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FN2L4FV/

I've had lots of different oil pans. This one is the best. Don't bother with the ones where you screw the cap back on so you can return the oil to the store. That small little hole doesn't capture the oil as fast as it pours out of your car - oil gets all over the container and now your supposed to put it in your car? This one captures every drop of oil coming out of your car and has a little spout that allows you to put it right back in the oil container you used to fill you car from. Easily captures the 9 quarts of oil from my car. And no need to wipe the drain pan clean because that lip around the edge keeps that oil in the pan when you hang it up out of the way on the garage wall.

This is a great product. It has a wide diameter for catching large area of oil. The handles seem strong. The drain spout is really useful. It allows me to drain straight into my oil waste container without using a funnel.

Great tool for any weekend warrior or profescional mechanic. Made my life so easy, i had other cheap bins that i had used in the past and was somewhat satisfied but when i tried this i became pleasantly surprised. Now i was able to empty the oil and remove the filter with little to no drip. Pan has good depth to where drip is not a big issue and it is so wide that it allowed me to empty the pan and remove the filter. The attached spout made emptying my old oil very easy, the thick plastic made moving my pan not difficult at all and this was with the old oil This has become one of my favorite tools

Hello Gorgeous! You want information on this Oil Drain Pan, I have it! This drain pan looks EXACTLY as pictured and performs WONDERFULLY! It's very durable, strong and arrived intact with no cracks, chips or fractures. Before I get to far a head of myself, I don't have anything to compare it too because we always used home made drain pans and this is the FIRST REAL drain pan we have ever purchased and the LAST! Once you buy this you will want NO OTHER! It is BIG, so there is no room for the oil to miss going in this drain pan during a change (environmentalists will smile and approve). It has a very handy oil spout that works perfectly to pour old oil into the newly empty oil containers. It is light weight, pretty easy to clean and store in a shed. I can see this lasting us MANY YEARS! What I LOVE about this drain pan is how easy it is to keep the work area clean of oil! I never seen the need in the past to waste money on something like this when it is pretty easy to make an oil catch with a semi efficient way to drain it into a funnel and into an empty oil container... However; not without a bit of a mess :-/ We have VERY VERY LITTLE mess with this drain pan. Plus, with the built in oil spout, you really don't have any need to use a funnel to get the old oil back into an oil container. REALLY WORTH THE $17 and PAYS FOR ITSELF in the long run when you think of what you are doing for the environment by not getting oil all over the place because you'd rather take the $17 and buy a few over priced meals at McDonald's... Do yourself a favor. Save your money! Make a home cooked meal that will have tasty leftovers the next day, WITHOUT THE SPIT, and buy this REALLY HANDY Oil Drain Pan! Make sure you hit that helpful button under this review! God Bless!

I shopped at Autozone and Walmart for a pan like this and was surprised to find they didn't carry anything close to this design, and they were more expensive. I am happy to have purchased this pan on Amazon and it does exactly what I need it to do and it is well made and very sturdy. Plus I was able to collapse the big box it came in and use it as a mat to lay on the ground. The design that Autozone and Walmart carry (at least in-store near me) are like jerry cans you lay on their side and you unscrew a little plug in the surface to let oil to drain in. The idea is you can close it up and I guess bring it to the dump to empty out later, but the main problem is the surface you drain onto is so shallow the oil will splash everywhere as you drain it. This pan is deep enough that I only got a couple little droplets that splashed out.

The pan is very sturdy and the spout is well positioned to help you pour the liquid into another container. Just drained 5 qusrts of transmission fluid and the job was a breeze with the large drain pan. I had to pour the fluid into a 1 gallon Rubbermaid container to measure the quantity and it was so easy to hold and pour with this pan. No spills at all! Well worth the money.
