Problem: I like to read on a comfy sofa in a corner of my studio, but it's oppressively dark. In seeking a light solution, I did extensive research and even had a couple false starts in trying other options. Brightech Sparq Arc LED Floor Lamp - Curved, Contemporary Minimalist Sleek Lighting -Glowing Warm White Light for Living Room, Bedroom, Dorm, or Office- Energy Efficient Dimmable Arched - Silver was one of those that didn't work--beautiful, my husband & I love it, & we're keeping it. But it was simply not bright enough for that corner. Here is why the TaoTronics 14W LED Desk Lamp was the perfect solution: 1) It is freakin' BRIGHT. (Watts DO matter, and this one is at 14W--top range you're going to find for a lamp.) But if it's too bright for you, you can dim it. Five levels of bright & dimming power. With the simple touch of a button. It lit my dark little corner beautifully where others had failed. You can choose various light "tones" also, and I found that they were very pleasant. (Another lamp I tried--that failed--came with a bulb that made everything look jaundiced. Ewww.) 2) It's simple and easy. Right out of the box--you remove a small disc from the bottom of the light, put the base on, screw the disc back in. Plug in the light. Done! 30 seconds. It's also simple to use. Use the touch buttons to turn on, dim, brighten. 3) The design is sleek and stylish. They even include a polishing cloth. The rotation allows you to use this at about every position imaginable, which adds to the functionality. All of this with a very small footprint. You can fold everything together where the lamp is almost unnoticeable. I love that my formerly dark corner is now perfect for reading. This lamp very well may solve another problem. I travel a lot, and even rooms in 5-star hotels can be inadequately lit. This will fit easily into my suitcase, and I'm taking it on my next trip.

After a remodel of my TV room, I didnt' want to put a bulky computer desk back in the corner, so I slimmed down with the desk and the lamp. I picked it because of the reviews and the minimal space it would take up. When I received it, the packaging was very professional and of high quality. The lamp itself feels good and is exactly what I expected. It has several hues of light you can dim or brighten the light. It is the perfect table lamp without taking up space. It also has a spot where you can plug in a charging cord for a phone or whatever else you need to charge. I would highly recommend and if I ever need another lamp, this brand will be the first I look at.

I first looked around for a LED desk lamp at the big boxes, the results being a bare bones selection with little functionality and at higher prices. Resorting to an online purchase, I came across this light fairly quickly. I have purchased other TaoTronics products and I'm very happy with them. After reading all the reviews I figured what the H, and ordered. It's been on my desk only a few hours and I can tell you, I love it. The height, adjustability of the arm, light color options (each of which can be dimmed), the USB port, the sleep timer and the size and stability of the base are perfect. A nice touch: The On button is illuminated when the light is Off, and when turned on or off, the light ramps up or down. At this price and functionality, it's a bargain. The packaging and shipping speed were excellent, too. My product improvement suggestions to TaoTronics are as follows: A matte black finish would be nice; I think a bit more chic than the glossy finish. A bit longer cord on the power supply. I would prefer that the control panel did not swivel with the lamp, rather stays fixed facing the forward section of the base. As it is, when you turn the lamp away from you, the controls go along with it. As for the controls, the On/Off button is tiny. I would prefer that it be a large button on the base for the on/off; the rest of the controls are fine where they are. Some have complained of a weak charge from the USB port; that could be improved. Not sure about longevity, but all my other TaoTronics products have performed flawlessly and I'm sure there's a warranty if I need it. My customer support experience from this seller in the past has been excellent.

Bought two of these lights for my desk and for my reading corner. They are awesome. Just what I needed. As an engineer/desktop tinkerer and big reader these lights are great. They are very adjustable for getting the light where you need it, have very bright settings for working on small parts and building things on the desktop, and nice warm light for reading just before dozing off to sleep. The USB charging port on the side of the light is a very nice touch, but it is part of the rotating base of the light so if you have a phone plugged in it will slide around as you adjust the light. Not a big deal and I can see why it was easier to design it that way. Overall 5/5, happy with my purchase.

This is a pretty great lamp. Although it has 4 color modes and 4 shades for each one, I honestly leave it on "Sleep" color mode and the lowest shade possible as I don't need much light for my desk. The other modes are very bright. I have only two minor complaints, factoring in how cheap of a solution this is and how nice the settings are it's not worth lowering the score to me. The first being shiny plastic, I literally took the provided cloth and scratched the base of the lamp with it... just unlucky, had a little grain of dirt on it I guess. This type of finish will degrade a lot over time, very easy to scratch. Also the swivel action is fairly wobbly, not the flat base of the lamp... it's sturdy and has some weight to it. The swivel part of the base has a bit of slack in it, the nut on the bottom holding the lamp to the base is fully tightened yet still moves a like it's not tight enough. You're never gonna notice it unless you need to make adjustments a lot.

I love this lamp. If I get five years out of it I will be more than a happy camper. I would like at least two more of these -- they are that good if they really last. The switch is electronic rather than mechanical, and it doesn't have the electronic "ballast" -- the two things that tend to give dedicated craft lamps a high mortality rate. I work with a variety of materials and a ton of magnification. My house is littered with craft lamps, alive and dying. I'm getting very tired of spending a small fortune on those things (you know -- the ones they sell that begin with "O" that are sold at the fabric stores) only to have them die within 2-28 months. This Elune lamp will work well as a craft lamp on the "study" setting at highest output. The color rendering index seems quite good and the areas where the color rendering is lacking seem to be an LED thing. But this Elune is so much more versatile -- now that I'm used to the "relax" and "sleep" settings that seemed, well, pink to me, I've co-opted this for use by my computer. When the dedicated craft lamps die I'll be replacing them with these, but not before I add another as a bedside reading lamp. Attached are two pictures taken with no flash and no ambient light. The first was lit by an Ott-Lite 13W fluorescent bulb, the second was lit by this, the Elune Dimmable LED Desk Lamp. What I see is a slight, but noticeable, lack of yellow in the Elune which is the same difference between the fluorescent and LED craft lamps - in other words, it's not the Elune but just LED spectrum in general. Minor quibbles: the swivel function is a bit too loose. There should be more resistance in the swivel. A tad more weight in the base would help. And the black shiny plastic is a fingerprint magnet, which is why they include a polishing cloth. Regardless, I'm thrilled with this lamp and want more.

* * * UPDATE * * * Just bought my second lamp (May 8), and now have 2 lamps over my work area. Even though the first one cast no shadows when using a fabric cutting ruler, I had to position the fabric nearer the light. With 2, I can position the fabric anywhere on my mat as my entire 24x36 work area is super illuminated and cast no shadows anywhere on the mat. Also, due to the flexibility of the lamp arms, I am able to position the light bar in a way to reduce the glare off my plastic rulers. For all people who cut fabric for quilting (or anyone who needs a good work area light), these lamps are the solution you have been waiting for. These LED lamps give off a super intense light at a very small fraction of energy of what a regular bulb would use, last for years and does not get hot considering the amount of light you get. FYI - Originally, when these types of lamps first came out, they were at least $100 or more and had a much smaller lamp bar, which is why I never bought one until now. Bottomline - Get this lamp! It's Amazon's No. 1 selling lamp for a reason.

I really didn't know what to expect. It was expensive enough that I expected it to do what it said, but didn't expect it to do it so well. The base is metal in order to hold the unit so it acts as a counterbalance. This was well done. The arms are plastic in order to decrease cost, but more importantly to keep that base small. Otherwise the base needs to be bigger or thicker. This was engineered well. The arm unit goes through the base and there is a 3 inch plastic nut that screws on in order hold the arm to the base. No big deal to put together. What is cool is that each type of light has multiple levels. We live in a rural area (no light pollution) so a single LED lights a hallway (I know because our light switches have an led in the switch). The sleeping setting at very low, lights almost as little as a night light. The controls are ALL touch. You will not be pushing on the light arm at all. You touch (not press) the buttons. The light remembers what you touched last. So if you put it on night light, lowest setting, then turn it off, then on, it comes back on that type and setting. This is a very nice feature. I have this in the bedroom on my night stand. It will help if I end up reading while my wife sleeps. I can tilt the light arm to angle away from her side of bed so there will be no lights in her direct line of sight. Nice. I recommend this if you want a lot of light, yet a minimalist look. I fold it down so its just a stick sticking up. Touch On and you still get enough light to move around. Cool.

I bought two taotronics different models . I really loved this lamp for its quality and pretty built but unfortunately it has started to switch of lately very frequently on its own. And then I have to unplug and start it again . It’s weird. I don’t know how to contact the company and if it matters . But be aware I bought it July 7 and dec 18 I found it not working well. There are no kids in our home. No one misused it . I am Studying for an exam thats all I use it for “To read on my study desk” maybe it’s a one time incident with someone but this is my first hand story. Hope it helps others I got the replacement lamp and they were very courteous to send it ASAP . I am very satisfied with my investment in the company so I changed my review to 5 star as their customer service is great!
