My boyfriend bought these for me for Valentine's Day after a pattern tester suggested these to me. As someone who was developing numbness in my fingers from over 15 years of crocheting and many hours spent recently crocheting, this was an amazing set. Not only does the set fit more comfortable for my knife grip, but the end of the needle no longer digs into my hand! It is longer than my hand and makes crocheting much more comfortable. I no longer get fatigued crocheting with a small hook and thin yarn like I used to. I used to have Boye hooks and these are much sharper, more comfortable, and absolutely beautiful. This is also great since I crochet amigurumi and it comes with the B-hook and up, meaning I can crochet amigurumi without having to take breaks to give my poor palm a rest! My Ravelry name is AilaReza if anyone wants to add me!

Clover hooks are the best, especially if you have arthritis, fibromyalgia, or any problem with hands. As a 75 year old, and crocheter for over 50 years, I fell in love with this set. I had previously bought the Amour large hooks and found them lightweight and easy to use...much more than any other brand I had tried over the years. I have been using the Clover Soft Touch and love those too. I belong to a lot of online crochet groups and this is where I first heard of the Amour and when I saw the price of this set, I just 'had' to have it too. I make a lot of amigurumi, which are dolls and animals crocheted in the Japanese fashion of crocheting in the round, and these hooks relieved most of the strain from crocheting these tightly so the stuffing does not show through. I use the knife hold but don't know how easy these are to use for the pencil hold because I've never been able to hold my hook that way. A great lightweight ergonomic hook by Clover.

I was really concerned about buying these hooks because I have always had a very odd grip -- I hold the hook pencil style, but have always kept my index finger raised out of the way, so I basically crochet with my thumb and index finger. I've never been able to hold a crochet hook with my index finger down -- maybe my fingers are too short or too fat, but I just can't grip a small crochet hook correctly. Anyway, my grip makes it really hard to get my stitches even, but I've always used this grip ever since I first learned to crochet at 12 years old (I'm now 61) -- so almost 50 years! I was worried that I couldn't use that grip with these hooks, but the reviews were so great I decided to give them a try -- low and behold, I started crocheting and all of a sudden I realized that I was holding the hook with a correct pencil grip for the first time in my life!! It felt completely naturally and I was doing it without even realizing I was doing it. Needless to say, I'm very surprised and completely delighted!! My stitches are coming out more even than they ever have, and like many other reviewers have mentioned, the hook goes through the yarn like a hot knife through butter! I can't believe I waited so long to purchase these -- it seemed like a lot of money to pay for just crochet hooks -- but they are completely worth the price, which is actually very very reasonable here on Amazon. Even if you are a beginner crocheter, I would recommend spending a little more money on these hooks, they are well worth the investment. I wish I had them 50 years ago when I first started. I can't recommend these hooks highly enough!

Let me tell you a little story. I have a whole set of another brand's comfort grip hooks and I thought they were fantastic. Once, I was on a trip, and needed a hook size I hadn't packed, so I went to the nearest craft store only to be disappointed that they didn't have my brand. I bought a Armour hook, thinking that it had to be better than skipping my evening crochet/relaxation time. The Armour hook was amazing. It slid through stitches like a hot knife through butter, and old fashioned wool simply glided over the hook like it was silk. I was doing a no-brainier piece, so I was mostly watching TV while crocheting at a leisurely pace, without paying much attention to my progress. When the news finished, I was shocked to see how much was done. I had crocheted at least as fast as I do when I'm actually focused on my work. The only problem was that when I got home, my once-prized hook set felt inferior. I could feel the yarn dragging along the hook in a way I'd never noticed before and I realized that the friction made my movements less fluid than they were with the Armour hook. When I switched back to the Armour hook, there was a noticeable speed improvement, because the stutter in my rhythm had disappeared. I've never been a speed demon, but it was exciting to suddenly be able to get more done without more effort. I felt like I'd found a magic hook. The only thing that made sense was to buy the whole set. So, here's the actual review: These hooks will spoil you for any others. They are extremely comfortable and stable in a pencil-like grip and Clover's hook shape is much easier to work with than that of other brands. They offer an incredibly smooth crochet experience, making even tricky fibers a breeze to stitch. With these hooks, I'm able to crochet more quickly and with less hand fatigue than experience has taught me to expect. In short, I just love them. I wish I could get a few larger than 6mm. I recently did a quickie project with chunky yarn, and after a brief go with the recommended hook size (in plastic), I decided that I'd rather use my 6mm Armour and just compensate for the gauge discrepancy with extra stitches. That I would prefer to do extra work just so I could use one of these hooks, pretty much shows how much I love Armour.

I love these hooks!! The hooks are a very smooth satin finish aluminum. The handles have the Letter and MM size on them and fell like a silicone rubber and are very comfortable to hold. I use a pen case to store the hooks and accessories (Lihit Lab Teffa pen case) and it works very well.

I am new to crocheting and have only used the Boyes brand of hooks. I decided that if I am to continue crocheting I should buy myself a nice set of tools, just like I did with my knitting needles. After reading the reviews of these and the Tulip hooks I decided that I would get more for my money by purchasing this set. OMG - I could NOT believe the difference. The hook slid through my yarn like butter. I really didn't expect such a difference. The hook itself is way better shaped and has a deeper notch to catch the yarn. Super comfortable to hold (I use a knife grip - which I learned here!). I am using a very splitty yarn and I'm not having the problems I was having with the other hook using this hook. I am super happy with these. Amazed at the quality for the price (which was better than a major hobby store using a coupon). Recommend. Just wanted to add this .. I sat on a Grand Jury in the spring of 2017 and the gal next to me was crocheting with the inferior brand of hooks. I brought these in so she could try them and the next day she had her own set. They make that much of a difference. :)

I have a full set of the ergonomic Boye hooks, but my husband used my H hook to open a box and wound up messing that hook up. I’ve loved those hooks (and have been a hardcore Boye consumer) for years, so it broke my heart when I couldn’t find the handle I was so used to. They apparently changed some time ago. Well, being stuck mid project without a hook wasn’t gonna work for me. After trying to use a standard aluminum H, I hit Amazon. I’ve eyed the Clover hooks for a while, but wasn’t ready to sink that kind of money into hooks (I know, I know, silly me). I got them on sale for $24 and now my poor Boye set has been placed on the bench. I even bought an L Clover hook for another project I’m working on because I love these so much. Even the squeakiest yarn glides off these hooks, and I love that the L hook has a longer working space to accommodate the bulkier yarn. I used to quit crocheting for the day/night when my hand gave out, but these hooks are so easy on my wrists that I’ve been up late without realizing ever since I got them. These hooks with the steel yarn needles I got for sewing in ends have just made my projects a lot less daunting. 5 stars aren’t enough for this wonderful set.

I'm really turning into a fan of the Clover products. The first time I bought a hook was truly at random while in a Japanese yarn store--it was one of the 'soft touch' variety. It was very early in my crochet resurgence and I knew I liked it. Since then I've also used the basic aluminums, some bamboos and even a lighted plastic hook. Whenever the Clover was the right size, that is the hook I opted to use. Recently I went through a phase of trying to keep many little projects going while traveling, working and moving and of course managed to never have the right hook when I wanted it. I finally decided to do what has worked for me in other aspects of my life, and that is to buy something so brightly colored it would be harder to lose (of course I'm ignoring the fact that some of my hooks are already brightly colored, but really I wanted a treat too). I found this set, saw Clover was the manufacturer and decided to give them a try. I do love the brightness factor, but I also appreciate the high quality construction. But even more importantly, I found the handles to be just the right contour--thicker for holding, with a thumb rest and angled so the other fingers are also in a neutral feeling position. Very comfortable, more so than the soft touch in my hands. Also, the material is dense, but has just a teensy bit of give sensation, sort of rubberized instead of just a hard plastic which also increases the comfort factor. I'm a 'knife' holder when I crochet and I handed some to a friend who is a 'pencil'. She liked them too, though her tastes run to a pointier tip. I like the tip, works very well with the bulky and worsted weights and yarn types I tend to favor. Definitely my new favorite set of hooks. Highly Recommended. JTG Just a note to be aware of when shopping Amazon, these are (currently) sold by 'partner vendors'. When I bought mine they were a tad more expensive than the price listed at the time I'm writing the review (I spent about fifty total) but mine were sold by a vendor that uses the Amazon warehouses as their shelf space. In other words it had the 'fulfilled by Amazon' tag which means super saver and Prime shipping applies. The current vendor has a lower price and free shipping, but it is important to look closely at the vendor's terms before buying. Also, do your due diligence with the vendors--check feedback. I'ver RARELY had any issues, but it does pay to check.

After trying 15 sets of hooks (borrowed from a wonderful friend), I bought this set of Clover Amour hooks. I love them so much that I recommend them on my website and to everyone who asks. They are extremely comfortable and the snag a lot less than other hooks. I would go so far as to say never, but it does depend on the yarn. Some yarns will snag regardless of what you use. I have also bought a set for a friend of mine, and I have bought a set of the larger hooks too, which are equally comfortable.

Wow... Please read if you question whether these are worth it or not! I have bought almost every knock off version of these that are available for two reasons. One, I thought they were pretty much the same thing as these. Two, they were all at a fraction of the price. Boy was I WRONG. I finally got this set of the real deal and they are completely different from any cheaper versions I have purchased. These are truly beautifully made. The rubber is smooth, lightweight, and beautifully molded. The hooks are so smooth, they will go through your projects like butter. They are much lighter than the cheaper versions and I was not fighting my stitches. In fact, I noticed I barely had to hold on to the hook because it created such a fluid movement. Overall, I cannot believe I waited so long to get these. I made excuses, thinking these were just an overpriced version of similar models. They are NOT. I will be donating all of my old hooks. These are the ONLY ones I will ever use or need!
