it blinded my wife for about 5 seconds so it gets 5 stars!!

A most excellent pistol flashlight. I will primarially be mounting mine to my Sig p226r for the majority of its use. Blindly bright, strobe feature is a little weird, but easy to understand and use. I only wish it would seat better against the trigger guard than it does. I might play with it a bit and switch the key around to see if I can get a closer fit. I will be getting rechargeable batteries for this for sure. Not too heavy, but strong construction. Not too many parts to worry about breaking. I do enjoy how you attach it to a mounting position. Set it on and latch down by turning the mounting bolt. It comes with mounting keys to fit probably 99 percent of all rail types and all the tools necessary to attach or dissassemble the flaahlight. And I'm sure if you bought one, and asked, the company would send you a key for whatever abstract rail you have.

I bought this for my Glock Gen5 G17. I have other Streamlights, Surefires, etc. The HL series from Streamlight has to be my favorite by far. Several reasons for this. 1. Performance. I have Streamlights on my main RECCE rifle set up as well as my main side arm. Neither have them have yet to fail me after years of hard use. 2. Price. For the price you cannot beat them. No light last forever, but some last longer then others and are cheaper to replace! this light is on par with your best surefire, for a fraction of the cost. I run it side by side to my surefire and the Streamlight is actually better and holds up just as well to my abuse. Size. Size does matter. It's not heavy, and sticks out just the right amount to not snag, but clear the barrel and give me great all around light. 4. And mainly, Great Light. It puts out a ton of light with a great center spot with a lot spill to see enough around you to keep you butt covered. I highly recommend not only this light, but all Streamlight products!, they will not disappoint.

If you're looking at this, you are probably aware of its reputation. Excellent fit and finish, unbeatable value, intuitive tactile controls, and EXTREMELY BRIGHT. I bought it to go on my SP-01 for home defense use and it snapped on perfectly. The controls are right where they should be. If you have a compact pistol, the lense will stick out up to an inch beyond the muzzle depending on the model. This may or may not be an issue, but if it is, the tlr3 is always an option. I have several streamlight products and they have never let me down. I will continue to pay from them because they offer a great value, are made in the USA, and have features and reliability of competitors whose products are two or three times more. Buy with confidence.

This is a tough little light. I know a lot of people prefer the Surefire, and don't get me wrong Surefire makes very high quality lights, but at a very high price point. I personally prefer the oversized switches on the TLR1 compared to the switches on the X300, and with the TLR1 being half the price it's an easy decision. That being said, both are very good lights that I would not hesitate to throw on a duty or carry gun. 800 lumens is nothing to scoff at and makes clearing buildings a breeze. Battery run time is a little disappointing, but the Surefire has the same issue. The attachment method is simple and very easy. This light a very well built, high quality light. I've got one on one of my 357 Sigs and have had no issues at all. I do recommend that you tape over the lens when you hit the range so you're not having to clean gunpowder and carbon residue off of it later, but if you don't, a clean pencil eraser will clean that lens up no problem.

I've had this light on my P320 Compact Carry for some time now, have ZERO gripes about it. Every time I go to the range it stays on the gun and has endured 1700+ rounds of standard plinking ammo, and many magazines of various +P defensive rounds. It has taken tumbles off my nightstand with the full force of a loaded (albeit unchambered) gun. I explicitly trust this light to help me protect my property and work when I need it the most. It is almost as bright as my Nitecore P12 (1000 Lumens) which is my EDC light and is rated at 800 lumens. The throw is great and it has a focused beam with great peripheral coverage, it illuminates entire rooms and is disorenting to anyone on the other side of it. Tip for other P320 Carry & Compact owners: If you want the light to sit closer to the trigger guard, use the TSW 99 rail peg to get it on the 2nd notch.

I've put off buying a light for one of my pistols because they are kind of pricy. This TLR-1 HL came in at around $105 which I thought was pretty reasonable. Until I got it. Now I think it was INCREDIBLY REASONABLE! I believe pics speak louder than words. Took a quick snap comparing it to my 300lm Cree style flashlight. Can't say enough, GREAT light.

its a tank of a light. smear chapstick on lens when on range trips to prevent carbon buildup- carbon wiped away with chapstick

Love it! I went back an forth between this and the very popular Surefire X300 (which is quite a bit more expensive). What I specifically liked about the Steamlight was the great reviews of the on/off/strobe switch. It is very easy to manipulate - the constant on with your trigger finger or the periodic on/strobe with your support hand thumb). I mounted this on my Glock G40 and couldn't be happier. The 10mm was purchased for a hunting sidearm and I wanted a light that would 'reach out' and light things up. Boy, does this light do that! In the woods at night you'll see things from a ways off. I also liked the beam that seems to be a little wider than the Surefire (again for the purpose I chose it for in the woods). Warning... it is bright, so if you fire it up in a home or closed environment it will blind you depending on the angle you are with a wall, etc. Overall, I'm very happy with the quality and functionality for around $80+ less than I would have spent on the Surefire. You won't be disappointed with the TLR-1 HL. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: if you get this light, take minute and You Tube the directions on opening the battery compartment. The printed directions suck and if you don't push the lever all the way back (to 'pop' the compartment open) you can get very frustrated trying to get it open (short of breaking it).
