I despise raking leaves. Not so much the raking part, but the bagging part. I use this all the time and I don't mind bagging at all anymore. You can use really big bags in it. Just tie the top of the bag making the opening smaller and it will fit fine in the Bag Butler. It lays flat on the ground and I just rake the leaves right into the bag. It's so much easier and quicker. After two years of use in the fall, the joints where it fold together started to break a little. I just used some duct tape and it's fine. I also use it when I'm weeding a large area. I just leave it standing up and open and toss the weeds inside. I also bought another one because products disappear whenever I really like them. So this way I have a backup. Highly recommend.

The good: Best money you can spend if you have a lot of leaves. Fits standard leaf plastic bags and the really large contractor bags. We just use the leaf blower to gather them up and it only takes a few sweeps with a rake to fill up a bag. I bagged up about 30 bags of leafs in a few hours. No back pain. The bad: The unit we got snapped in half on a Saturday. I was going to come here and give it a bad review, but then I called the support number on the website. The great: I called the number on Saturday afternoon. Someone actually answered the phone (I think it may have actually been the guy on the videos). The gentlemen on the phone said that he had a few reports of some breaking and that it may have been a bad batch. He apologized, asked me to email my address and information to their support number and he would take care of it. Monday morning UPS arrived with a brand new Bag Butler. Stuff breaks, it happens. Great customer service doesn't just happen. I would recommend this product and anything they sell.

Love this!!! We have a high maintence yard and it’s such a struggle to rake leaves and shrub trimmings. Today we bagged 16 large bags of leaves and trimmings in one afternoon and the butler made it so much easier. We also used these leaf scoops https://www.amazon.com/ReLeaf-Leaf-Scoops-Ergonomic-Removal/dp/B00GPVZA58 . My kids were tasked with raking and scooping piles of leaves and they did so easily and without complaining. Using the Butler in an upright position made it so easy for us to toss clippings into the bag. Going to get at least one more so that we can have multiple bags ready to fill!

I've had my Bag Butler for a few years. I'm very bad about putting tools away, and this one has been lying in the dirt since last fall. I was going to use it again, so didn't bother putting it away. Still in perfect shape, although a bit muddy. I am writing this to address the people who find it difficult to use. Some pointers: 1. To put the bag on, sit in a lawn chair. Turn butler with handles on ground. Fold to fit bag, and hold sides with your feet. Bag slides right on. Easier than using a bungi, and I get to rest for a minute. 2. To fill bag, don't stand it up! Lay it on its back and rake debris in. A small rake is handy for this. I use a giant leaf rake to gather them up and a tiny leaf rake to put them in the bag. 3. Don't try to fill the bag to capacity. I fill them as far as they go easily and call it good. When I have a truckload, I drive into the woods, empty my bags and use the same bags over and over. Doesn't fill the landfills and I rarely have to buy bags. This is a wonderful product. And if mine ever wears out, I will definitely buy another one.

The best. Simply the best! Frequently I have to sweep up debris off my patio. Or, trim the plants, shrubs and trees. This Bag Butler holds open the trash bag so I can either sweep or dump the refuse into it. [See picture] Easy as pie! The problem is, the inside edges of the cut out hand-holds are sharp. And, it's difficult to hold the Bag Butler closed with one hand while slipping the trash bag onto it with the other. I smoothed the sharp edges by sanding them.. As for holding the Bag Butler closed with one hand, I cut a clothes hanger wire into a 7" length and bent one inch of each end over. . Think U turn. This tool lets me close the Bag Butler sides into the middle, catch each each side's hand-hold with the bent ends of wire. The wire then holds closed the Bag Butler until I slip on the trash bag. I take off the wire, the Bag Butler opens up the trash bag. Easy as pie. Bag Butler should include such a tool.

Update: We've been using this for a few years now and it's still one of my favorite yard tools for its simplicity and effectiveness. It's so easy to use and once the leaves are raked in a pile, it only takes about a minute per bag to shove the leaves in. Filled 24 bags of leaves on my own yesterday in just under 90 minutes with the Bag Butler. Took a full day last year without it. It is very simple to use. It's a heavy duty rubber product with 2 creases. The creases are set to easily fold in one direction. To use it, fold the creases in the opposite direction, hold them together using the convenient handles while you stick the bag over the bottom of the Bag Butler...the release the handles and the Bag Butler tries folding the flaps the other way...but the bag is now in the way and they hold the sides of the bag open. After that 10 seconds of getting the Bag Butler in position, just tip it on its side, and get on your knees and just shove the leaves into the bag. Filling up each bag only takes about a minute. Then gently stand the bag and Bag Butler straight up and down and lift the bag butler out of the bag. Tie it off and you're done. I've tried both 30 and 39 gallon bags and the 30 seems to work a bit easier, though I had no issues using 39 gallon bags. It does say that if you use paper bags that you should use the bag butler standing up, in which case you'll lose some of the benefit of just shoving the leaves into the bag. A very nifty product and one that has saved me a ton of time both this year and for many years to come.

This has to be one of the BEST purchases I've made in all of the hundreds (thousands?) of items I've purchased through Amazon. At first, I was hesitant about how well this "As Seen On TV" item would really work, but let me say that I was surprised and EXTREMELY PLEASED!!! Words just do not do justice to how well this one flat piece of plastic with handle holes and two creased sides actually performed as well as advertised. Not only does it work exactly as advertised for cleaning up leaf piles (and THANK GOODNESS), but also, I tried the alternate use for my messy kitchen garbage. We have a LOT of kitchen trash and rather constantly having to change 13gal kitchen bags, we kept an ugly 30gal can in the bottom of our pantry for convenience and economy. It's truly amazingly simple, too. For outside use, you just fold the Bag Butler 'against the preformed creases' which gives it tension, then insert in INSIDE the open plastic bag, which instantly holds the plastic lawn and leaf bags open, lay it on the side and either rake or scoop the leaves or debris inside, then sit it up and tie the top. Also, if you have a lawn mower with a bagger, it's so easy to stand up the Bag Butler and empty the bagger into it. For messy debris or kitchen trash where you don't want to get the Bag Butler yucky, you basically do the same thing with setup, except you open the plastic bag and put it INSIDE the Butler and fold the top edges of the bag up over the Bag Butler's 3 sides. The tension of the Bag Butler holds the bag open and since it's on the OUTSIDE of the bag, it stays clean. If it does ever get dirty, or you just want to clean it occasionally, just hose it down and wash it like any other plastic item and dry it. So very simple. I can't wait to show this to everyone I know. With my parents and brother who live next door to each other on two acres of oak and pecan trees, they'll LOVE this. For OUR small yard, though, I think my next step will be to convince hubby to run the easily gathered leaves through the mulching part of his leaf blower/vacuum/mulcher so instead of having so many bags at the curb, we'll only have one or two. THANKS, AMAZON for carrying this great product, and thanks 'Garden Helpers' for selling it. Loved the Amazon Prime FREE TWO DAY SHIPPING as always, AND for donating to the Wounded Warrior Program without costing me any extra, just by my logging in to smile.amazon.com instead of just amazon.com since it is the SAME SITE, except that Amazon donates a portion of the sale. What an easy way to help a great cause at no extra expense! WIN, WIN and WIN all the way around! Maggie M.

I hate raking leaves and I've tried other leaf solutions like the huge plastic taco thing. This one plain works and makes swift work of leaves, even raking alone. I use 39 gal bags. Make sure to insert the butler into the bag so the side cutouts are toward the bag opening. That way you can lift the bag and hold onto the Bag Butler to shake the leaves down once or twice if desired. I find that I can rake to the end of the bag butler and shale down 2x before raking to the top again and tying the bag.

I watched the video on YouTube that the manufacturer has and I can say that the bag butler works exactly as the video shows and it made a not so fun chore more pleasurable. One person can rake while the other person fills the open bags really easily. I took a tip from another reviewer and bought the "ReLeaf Leaf Scoops: Ergonomic, Large Hand Held Rakes for Fast Leaf & Lawn Grass Removal" that Amazon also sells. Those make scooping the leaves at least three times faster than you could possibly do by hand. Both products are terrific.

This product makes leaf cleanup SO MUCH EASIER. I use 42-gallon contractor bags or heavy-duty bags and the bag butler fit's in them with a little room to spare. It's not as tight as the photos, but it still works just fine. In my opinion, raking into an open bag is pretty useless, unless you have an unlimited budget for trash bags. I lay the bag down (with the bag butler) next to a leaf pile and stuff/slide the leaves in by hand. The bag butler lets me stuff a ton of leaves into one bag in about one minute. I stand the bag up, take out the bag butler, and tie it shut. I can honestly complete a packed-down bag full of leaves in 1-2 minutes and move on to the next one. This method is much faster and easier than using a trash can to hold the bag open, or using a bag on its own. Money well spent!
