I learned Spanish to an upper intermediate level -- and then let it lapse while I learned German to a somewhat lower level and started learning French. I first purchased Ouino French and I was blown away by its thoroughness, interface and ability to hone in on so many areas (essential vocabulary, verbs, grammar, conversations, etc.). In fact, I was so impressed that I purchased both the Ouino Spanish and German versions to assist in regaining what I’d lost in those languages! Those programs are every bit as great as the French one I already had! Just a few minutes of focused study each day really brings clarity to areas I’d gotten “fuzzy” in such as “por vs para and ser vs estar.” I don’t know how the creators can put such a complete package together in a language for less than $100 but I know that it’s a genuine bargain. I have LOTS of language learning materials and Ouino is BY FAR the best.

Ouino is truly an amazing program! It is so smooth, colorful, and many various ways to learn. I have tried many programs to learn Spanish, and this is by far the best. It is designed to encourage participation by inserting motivating symbols and positive complements. It lets you repeat a lesson as much as you want and shows your progress in points and music! Real voices say the words and you are able to speed up or slow down the speaking. This program is fantastic!

I ordered Quino Spanish after reading several reviews. I wanted to learn something new, to keep my brain active. I am 55 and I am a beginner. My Quino Flashdrive arrived on time and in a beautiful, safe box. I installed it on my laptop. I called Quino's Customer Service to find out how to put it on my Ipad. The gentleman instructed me how to do it. His instructions were perfect. My Spanish program is very easy to navigate. The graphics are bright and vibrant. The voices on the program is clear and the language is pronounced in normal and slow speed. I can decide for myself what I want to learn instead of a laid out program. Tonny, the Co-Founder emailed me, to see how I liked the program and to thank me. HOW COOL IS THAT? I'll tell you, Super Cool. Quino don't just take your money and run, like so many companies do. They really care. I am enjoying my program. I also ordered French. So you will see this same review for French, from me. Thank You, Quino (Tonny).

I discovered Ouino's Spanish Language software almost by accident. I was looking on a website that did a side-by-side comparison of different products: Fluenz, Pimsleur, Rosetta Stone, Berlitz, Tell Me More, etc. Ouino was very highly rated (it came in at #4) which I found odd because I had never heard of it and hadn't seen any other mention of it. THE DEMO I had tried the Fluenz demo, and while I liked the tutor-style approach the pricetag was definitely a turn-off. Other programs on the list either had no demo or just a video showing the features. Enter Ouino. Ouino lets you download a portion of their program. The demo is a good and accurate representation of the full version. Between the Fluenz and Ouino demos, I have to say that Ouino was far and away the most fun, filled with bright, colorful pictures and challenging games with a scoring system. With the Fluenz demo you mostly listen to Sonia Gil talk and do lots of repetitive typing lessons. THE PURCHASE Ridiculously easy! I kid you not, you can be using the full version of Ouino in the next 15 minutes! Instead of having the software mailed to you, you can *download it* from their website. They accept paypal and credit card. Then you get a download link and a product key in your email. Copy and paste and Tada! you are using the full version and you don't have to worry about storing a DVD somewhere. The software even works offline which is a huge plus. THE OUINO APPROACH This part is very important! Unlike most language software that uses a linear "enter here"-->"do this next"-->"exit here" approach, Ouino uses a "buffet-style" approach. The user gets to pick what aspect of the language they want to focus on. Want to learn more vocabulary? There is a whole section that is nothing but vocabulary! They even have a dedicated "fantasy" lesson where you can learn words like "dragon" and "knight". --There are *tons* of verb charts with well-explained examples of the conjugations. The only thing I didn't see was the Subjunctive . . . but I have yet to see *any* software program cover the subjunctive. I really hope Ouino adds this in the future and I believe they could do it very easily. --There is a Conversations section that has--as far as I can tell--very "normal" sounding conversations. None of this ueber-formal, rigid Pimsleur language that will make locals laugh at you. --My personal favorite, there is a Pronunciation section where you can practice on the individual Spanish sounds and hear a recording of your voice compared to a male and/or female native speaker. So as you can see, instead of being led the by hand every step of the way, Ouino gives you the freedom to pick what you want to focus on. Some may see this as a negative, but I see it as a positive because it means that you will be less likely to lose interest in the software as a result of having this freedom. GAMES Ouino has the best games and quizzes. There is a scoring system that encourages you to truly master the material. In addition, some games have a timer where you lose points if you take too long. Stuck on a question? There is a brilliant hint system where you can spend part of your score to get a scrambled-letter hint or some other clue. Even the multiple choice questions are great because you sometimes have 6 options to choose from and not just 4. As for the written portions, they are very forgiving about accent marks and the accent marks are easily added by clicking on an on-screen letter (as opposed to Fluenz where you have to press [ and the corresponding letter on your keyboard). INTERFACE The interface is very user-friendly, full of large buttons and easy-to-read text. There is also a generous use of pictures and colors so that you aren't looking at a boring background all the time. The English narrative and male and female Spanish speakers are very clear in their pronunciations. The production quality is very good compared to some programs where it sounds like they recorded the audio at the bottom of a well or back in the 1960s. CUSTOMIZATION This is one of the many things that absolutely sold me on this product. Ouino is the Linux of language software in that you have such a large degree of control over your learning experience. Here are some of your *many* options: --Listen to male native speaker --Listen to female native speaker --Listen to both --Turn music on/off --Turn ambiance on/off --Increase/decrease time interval between sentences anywhere from 1 to 9 seconds --Select if the audio is fast or slow . . . or both. --Subtitles I have used these controls to greatly enhance my learning. For example, if I want to practice saying sentences ala Pimsleur method, then I increase the time interval to about 3-4 seconds. If I just want to hear the dialogue "full speed" like it would be in real-life then I decrease the time interval to 1 second. You can make these changes as you go, they are always available to you. I don't remember quite as many options in the Fluenz demo. AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT No software is perfect and Ouino is no exception. I do wish they had the Subjective verb charts. I also am curious as to why they chose to teach the verb "comprender" instead of "entender" for "to understand." From what I've seen and read, "entender" is more likely to be encountered. I also wish there was a way you could go back to the sub-section you were working on after finishing a quiz. The way it is now, after you finish a quiz you can either restart the lesson, go on to the next or go to the main menu. I also wish they prompted you to choose a star-rating at the end of each section or quiz for how well you think you know the material. The star-system they currently have is not very prominent at the bottom-right-hand corner of your screen and if you forget to select a rating you have to re-open the lesson to give it one. You can even see what I'm talking about if you try the demo, but really, those are just nitpickings. I've seen some language software where I have written at length on what I disliked about it--I'm looking at you Rosetta Stone. OVERALL I've just started using the full version, so I can't comment too much on how good the software is at teaching you Spanish. A lot of it assumes that you know what you want to study. I can see this aspect being an outstanding tool for someone who has a problem area in Spanish, whether it is a certain consonant sound (that tricky "RR") or a particular verb conjugation. But even just going through the verb charts I've picked up on a few things (Tengo que aprender Espanol!) For beginners I would recommend the pronunciation sub-section, the alphabet and numbers. I liked how for the numbers they actually count all the way to 100, skipping nothing! But even intermediate learners of Spanish can probably learn a thing or two from this program, whether it is perfecting a conditional or future-tense verb conjugation or learning how to say something playful like "Be careful! I could drink your blood!" Again, if you want ueber-formal Spanish like Pimsleur, you won't find much of it here. As someone that has looked at *lots* of different language software programs I encourage you to at least give the demo a try. You might end up agreeing with me that this is the best Spanish language software you've never heard of.

I am very excited about this program! I have tried Rosetta Stone and DUOLINGO but my kids found it very hard to stay consistent and motivated with those programs. Ounio combines repetition, a variety of exercises, and great in depth explanations of grammar that my kids find necessary in order to truly learn the Spanish language. I have five kids that use the program ranging from age 7 to 16. I can easily manage all their accounts and track their progress from my own account login. Costumer service is amazing- quickly responded to my inquiries, and was eager to address our needs.

By far, the best Spanish program in the market today. I tried most of the courses out there, Rosetta, Fluenz, Memrise, Duolingo, etc, but the truth is there’s nothing compared to Ouino. And the reason is because they focus in communication and building up vocabulary words and expressions. You follow a straightforward path they have created for the student, so you don’t have to worry which way you need to go first. The course is extremely well organized and you can study at your own pace as you pause the dialogues, you play them at normal or slow speed, they teach you the vocabulary in relation to each conversation or unit. They intertwine grammar with conversation, and they create the perfect environment to learn the language without burden or struggle. Very well thought and professional method that I personally recommend anyone that wants to learn Spanish. On top of that very consistent in terms of academic achievement, as well as too economical for all the content being taught. To conclude my review in a few words, “Best Spanish course ever. I highly recommend it to anyone.”

I first bought this program 3 years ago and after recording over 60 hours of dedicated work, I felt very comfortable with the Spanish language. I wouldn’t have considered myself fluent, but I was definitely able to say pretty much anything that I wanted to in Spanish, as this program is very comprehensive and covers many key areas of the language. After this time, life got in the way and I lost my free time to continue to work on improving my language skills. During that time I lost the program on the USB drive that was given to me when I bought it and my old computer, which originally had the download on it, was no longer in use. I contacted the great people of Ouino and they were able to send me the link to the program for free. I feel that they went above and beyond what is expected of any company and I would be very pleased to give them the highest recommendation. Not only is the product great, but the customer service is even better. Now I can return to learning the language that I love with a product that I know works.

This is the MOST helpful program I've used! I learn a lot of vocabulary quickly and it keeps me interested. It's hard to stop! I also love the writing component which helps me remember the words long-term. FABULOUS program! Anyone wanting to learn a language will see results quickly! My husband uses Ouino French and got me the Ouino Spanish as a present. It is one of the best presents I've ever gotten! Learn Spanish with OUINO: The 5-in-1 Complete Collection (for PC, Mac, iPad, Android, Chromebook)

Since purchasing this course, I have discovered many FREE lessons online, but none come close to the organization and guidance from Ouino, and it is all done with stunning graphics and detail. Customer support is immediate, personal, and thorough. Update: The Ouino team has just given all of us students a free upgrade that that spices up the course in several ways, including easier navigation, extra lessons including subjunctive and imperative verbs, and more realistic voice-overs in the lessons. Support is muy excepcionale! It is a comfortable and colorful way to learn the basics. Give it a try. There will be free additions and updates to look forward to down the road, but there is plenty to do and learn until then.

I have all three courses now.I speak Spanish and am teaching two friends withe the help of another friend, a native speaker. They are using Ouinon. It was a bit of a hard sell, but they are very happy that they finally agreed to buy the program. I also use the Spanish course to tweak my own pronunciation. Being able to hear a word in context in two tempos is wonderful. In short, this Quinon approach is strategic! The most important verbs and grammatical structures are covered and tied directly to attractive photographs. I am currently working hard on my French. I have a lot of books and programs, but this one is my favorite. I do Duolingo, then Memrise, and finally Ouinon. I wish I had found Quinon before I spent so much money on these other books and programs! I like it because, with the help of several basic grammar books and the big verb book, I am now speaking and writing in French and practicing new vocabulary and verb forms daily. I like the way Quinon is organized. I am someone who does not like to follow a set program without being able to access what I want to know when I want to know it. Finally I just ordered the Italian program and the big verb book. I lived in Italy with students on a semester abroad program. While I had to be present for my teaching activities in English, I stepped out into the community and took some classes apart from my students. I am quite rusty now. But I know that, as soon as I have more bearing in French, I will get back to Italian. And Quinon is waiting for me!
