My 250k mile 2002 VW Passat wagon started leaking PS fluid pretty profusely. Trouble was, I couldn’t tell exactly where it was coming from. Was it on the high pressure side of the pump or on the low pressure return side? No telling, as it was “wet” all over the lines, the pump, all the way down to the rack and back to the reservoir. I tried several other regular bottles of PS fluid “with leak stop”. Yeah, not so much of a bit of difference in the leak from her. I figured I’d just keep filling with fluid every week. No way I’m going to pay for a new rack, pump and lines on this old reliable beater, I’d just nurse it along. Then I saw the Bar’s Leaks product and figured it couldn’t hurt for the price, and besides I needed to refill the PS tank again anyway. First I poured in half the bottle of Bar’s to refresh the tank. The instructions said it should take effect and will notice a difference in about 60 miles. Sure enough, the puddles and and drip trails tapered off. It’s been two weeks and I’ve only added up to 3/4 bottle of the Bar’s Leaks, and the tank level has stopped dropping. So, I conclude in my case that this has actually worked to stop, or virtually stop, the PS leak. If it holds for a while in my situation, I’ll be doubly impressed. Give the Bar’s Leaks a try next time your PS tank needs a top up, or if you notice a leak, it might just work in your case.

This is on a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe. I do not appear to have a leak of any kind in my PS system however clearly my PS was having issues as it would make squelchy noises once it had heated up. With nothing really to lose I ordered this. All I did was remove all the PS fluid from the overflow reservoir using a turkey baster, then turn the car on and move the steering all the way from lock to lock 2 times (this flushed as much as possible back into the overflow reservoir) I then removed this as well. For me, the PS fluid that came out looked bright red like brand new. I then reversed the process, filling the reservoir with this stuff, turning the steering wheel from lock to lock, and then topping up the reservoir with this stuff. After a quick drive, I noticed that the noise was completely gone. I was very impressed. Not sure how it will work in the long run but I used about 2/3 of a bottle and I will keep the remaining in my car in case I need to top up.

Had a very loud whining sound coming from my brother's Toyota Forerunner. Obviously it was the power steering pump on it's way out. To avoid an expensive repair I randomly ordered this stuff to see if it would correct the issue, even just for a temporary basis. It did exactly that, the whining stopped almost instantly and the pump works better than before, steering isn't as stiff as it was. Great product to use if you want to avoid a costly repair of a steering pump.

My auto shop recommended a new power steering pump because mine was leaking. The leak was significant enough that simply topping it off here and there wasn't enough to address it. I put a bottle of this stuff in there, and checked it a few days later. The leak seemed better, but it was still a bit low. I topped it off with more of this leak stop, and it hasn't leaked a drop in weeks!! Amazing!! If you have a leak, this is by far the best place to start!

Had a bad leak in my power steering that was recently rebuilt. Doing some research I found the cause was cheap Chinese seals that have taken over the market. Hard to find good US seals. So I tried Bar's Leaks. The first bottle did not do the job, so I purchased a second one. Now not a drop on the ground from my power steering.

I have an old 1994 Toyota Celica with 240,000 miles I thought why not give it a chance and use this to fix the steering problem and long behold did the squealing went away and I got our power steering power back

5 stars. .. I just love this stuff. Makes you feel good when your car is riding clean and quietly. I have 172,000 miles on my car and the plan is to make it to 3k.. I love taking care of my car so it takes care of me.. bought 2 bottles of this stuff and gave one away to a friend. It's that real.

This product ultimately destroyed my power steering lines. There had been a small leak and after I used this product and drove up the road about 1.5 miles, my steering almost completely locked up and I could barely turn into the destination parking lot. I turned around and drove home and by the time I got home saw that all of the fluid on my steering lines leaked out at a rapid pace and left a nice trail that is now essentially staining my driveway. This was for a 2007 TrailBlazer with less than 150k miles and had just had the power steering lines and everything else power steering related fixed 3 years prior. Why would this stop leak product make my leak worse?

I have a 2001 Acura MDX with steering issues. This helped mitigate the issues that I was seeing with it. It is definitely less noticeable now. I used this then after a few hundred miles I added Honda power steering fluid (thicker viscosity) and things seem to be fixed.

I had a pretty bad leak in my Subaru power steering pump, and this solved it for the most part. It took a while for the leak to go away, maybe like 1000 miles, but it is almost completely gone at this point.
