Purchased this to help my 93 yr old mother get in and out of my car when I take her places. Works great and is very sturdy and stable. I did notice when shopping for them some appear to attach to the door latch and point away from the car. This handle when attached to the latch points towards the front of the car. I think this makes for a sturdier connection. One last observation. The package states and I quote "Lifetime Guarantee! 100% satisfaction. You are always right no matter what." That seems very clear to me. BUT the instruction sheet inside states. "Limited Warranty. Standers, Inc warrants to the original purchaser that this product will be free from defects in material and or workmanship for 1 year from the date of purchase." It them goes on to say you must prepay shipping costs and the repair is still only good up to the original year. It continues with more legalize about what isn't covered. SOOOO what happened to the "Lifetime Guarantee!" and I'm always right as stated in the bright orange circle on the front of the package? I can't imagine anyone could break this thing unless you were using it for something it's not made for like a crowbar!!!

Why didn't I know about this sooner? This is an awesome tool to help me get in and out of the car, as well as additional assistance transferring to my wheelchair. On our 2013 Nissan Sentra, this works both parallel and perpendicular to the door.

Have an elderly parent or friend that has difficulty getting the leverage to easily get in and out of the car? If so, this product is for you. The Metro Car Handle hooks into the catch of the car door on either the front or back and provides a handle that is easily grasped and provides the leverage needed to push up and out of the seat. It allows you to easily stand up from a sitting position making exiting the care far easier than if you had to grab the door frame to use as a support. Using this product eliminates the torquing and unbalanced stance that accompanies using the door or door frame of the car for support and leverage when getting out of your car. Simply place the product in the door catch swing your legs out of the door and push down on the Metro handle to help yourself stand up. Once you've exited the car, remove the Metro handle and shut and lock the door. The Metro handle is study and small enough to store easily in a seat pocket, center console or in the dashboard. I bought 2 of them, one for each of my parents and it has virtually eliminated the dread that they had each time they had to enter or exit their cars.

I know that this is just a piece of hard plastic and metal, but this Standers Metro Car Handle has worked wonders for my husband's confidence and independence. It also makes me feel a little bit better when sending him off to work or to an appointment. He has a problem with upper body strength and mobility issues from years of medical treatments, and this makes it so easy for him to get out of his car. Truly, every day is a challenge for him, and this piece of equipment brought a smile to his face, and to mine as well. Thank you to the company for shipping it so quickly and I have heard people say that the price is too high, but to us this is worth every penny. By the way, he drives a 2010 Toyota Prius.

Bought one of these for my 79-year-old Mom who had just broken her hip. Ordered it 3 days after her joint replacement surgery; it arrived several days before her first postop doctor's appointment. This ingenious gadget allows her to get in and out of the car by giving her something solid to hang on to and she says it's made all the difference! I'm back to get another one for myself for when my arthritic knees are acting up or I need yet another knee surgery.

This device was a lifesaver for our family. Because of a temporary bursitis, I could no longer use my right arm to support myself when getting out of my car, which has very low seats. There was some question whether I would even be able to drive to work. I looked on Amazon and found this! I was able to rest my left forearm on the car handle and get out of the car with no pain whatsoever, and because my right shoulder was spared, my bursitis was almost gone after a week. Resting my left forearm on the car handle works better for me than grasping the car handle, and I will continue to use the device to prevent recurrence of the bursitis. Thank you, Standers!

Got it for my Dad to get out of my Car. It works great. Also like the flashlight on it

Found this by accident and am really glad I did. My wife has been struggling every time she gets out of the car. I can't lift her and with nothing to hold on to it is a real project to get her out and on her feet. I put this in the latch and had her try it. Couldn't believe the difference. It wasn't like a teenager but she got out by herself and had a smile on her face. Wish I had found this sooner. Great idea and a great product. Worth every cent.

This has been a lifesaver for us and a back saver for me. My husband suffered a stroke and has lost the use of his right hand. He is wheelchair bound and can no longer drive. He is 6'2" and 195 lbs. Before we purchased this handle, I would have to lift him by his belt up from the wheelchair and do my best to guide him into the passenger seat of our car. Now he has the ability to lift himself up and in. This gives him a wonderful sense of pride and independence... two things the handicapped find hard to find in their lives. Another plus is that my back no longer hurts!

Oh my GOSH!!! This product is a LIFE SAVER for me and my bad knees! My hubby's new truck sits about 6 inches taller than his last, so I knew I would NEVER be able to get in the new one! I bought this product and it is AMAZING to get into the truck with NO ASSISTANCE except for this knew handle!!! I highly recommend you get one of these if you simply can not climb stairs! I was able to put my foot on the step and use my upper body to pull myself up! Liberating!!! Thank you so much!!! One HAPPY Customer!!!
