I love this gelli plate!

This is the best thing I ever brought into my art room! I have become a gelli-printing maniac! I have tried a few others (including homemade) but this brand is the absolute best. You get good clean impressions of stencils and masks, and the design possibilities are endless! Look up YouTube videos on gelli printing and you'll see how much fun it is.

Whoo Hoo. It's Fun.

I freely admit that I am easily swayed by watching videos demonstrating products for the crafty but everyone who plays with one of these Gelli Plates say they are so much fun that I was persuaded (by myself) that I simply had to have one. I had tried a homemade version using plastic wrapped foam rubber which actually worked ok, but when this wee beauty arrived it was a whole different game . I printed and printed and printed and yes, all those people were right, it is the best fun. There are so many great videos with great ideas that you could spend everyday just trying them all. This is a great product, well packaged and I love it so much I persuaded a friend to buy one which arrived today so we are going to have a big girl's playdate next week , make messes , laugh and hopefully even pull a few spectacular prints as well.

My new addiction

I am addicted to Gelli art, I admit it. When I first discovered this form of monoprinting, I made my own plate, which lasted for one session of painting. I decided to take the plunge and buy this item, and I have had more fun than a 62 year old should! I think that what makes this process so much fun, is that it is simple, there is plenty of info on the net to help you along, and that once you get the plate and brayer, the rest of your supplies are not at all costly. Some acrylic craft paint and household items make you an instant "artitste"!

Great as base for paper and fabric printing.

Purchased this to use as a base for paint in a paper and fabric printing class. Worked great and easy clean up. The plate does discolor with use but after cleaning, no color transferred when applying a new color of paint. Apply paint with soft rubber brayer - not a foam roller to get a smooth texture.

Buy two...and cut the second one into various sizes.

I've purchased TWO of these. One which I will cut up into various stamp sizes - instead of buying small ones at higher prices.

Addicted to Gelli is right

"Addicted to Gelli" is their catchphrase, and that's the truth! I wanted to do a craft that was more fine art for my card making and paper crafts, and fell in love with the results immediately. No two pulls from this plate are the same, and that's what makes it so addictive. I swear I start using this thing and look up and find two hours have passed! It's totally absorbing. It's easy to learn and not that expensive to get started, and perfect for the young, seniors and anyone with upper body disabilities. My fingers and hands are often weak, but I find it pretty easy to squirt acrylic paint from the tube, roll the brayer on the plate, swish a Q-tip or press a stencil into the paint, and then rub the paper gently on top of the plate. One of the best crafting investments I've made in the past few years!

Gelli plates make collage backgrounds, postcards

This is my third gelli plate. I gave away the two larger ones when I moved, but had to have the 8 x 10-inch size back again. I love the flexibility of it; I love creating monoprints; I love using the background in collage. The plate is a little tricky to care for. I see videos of people wiping all the paint off in a few strokes. It takes me a lot longer, and I have to be careful because paint dries and sticks. There is one instruction point I don't understand--they tell you to cover the plate with plain printer paper when you aren't using it, but they also warn against using any absorbent paper for storage. Printer paper is absorbent. I had big stains on mine after about an hour, so I used deli paper instead.

What a great article for any artist or hobbyist

I spent the evening last night using my gelli plate to make papers for my art journal. What a great article for any artist or hobbyist. I got the 8 x 10 plate. I recommend using a soft brayer to spread the paint, as the hard brayer I have leaves marks in the paint on the surface of the plate. This plate can be marred by scratches, so be sure to use plastic tools and stencils--no sharp edges like metal or toothpicks and knives. I got some really great prints. Can't wait for my grand children to try this. they will love it.

Fantastic Gelli Prints

I was so delighted to find a Gelli Plate at such a great price on Amazon. I make the most fantastic prints with it and so easily too. If you are into art journaling this is a perfect tool to complement your art work. I want to get a smaller one too.

Great product

This item surpassed my expectations. It arrived a day before due. The packaging was excellent. Product description folder included and gave cleR instructions for use. The website for the product has extensive tutorials and examples of prints. I felt successful from the first use. It will be a well used addition to my fabric and mixed media work
