This webcam is better than laptops integrated webcam. Before I bought this webcam, I did a thorough search about the video quality of this webcam and I found that it is a favorite webcam for many vloggers and gamers. Its full HD and wide angle. Its view angle is much wider than laptop inbuilt/ integrated webcam and video quality is way superior to laptop’s inbuilt webcam’s video quality. OK, just to clarify, its a decent laptop. Its Lenovo Legion Y520. . Now the next best part…the webcam has integrated microphone as well. The microphone in webcam is way better than the microphone on the laptop. Basically this one purchase, upgrades both your webcam as well as microphone. Microphone is good enough for video chats like skype or hangout. It is not good enough if you want to use it for vlogging or recording / streaming gameplays but again it is not meant to be a pro microphone, it’s the best webcam and reasonably decent microphone for home use. . You can find great comparison videos on Youtube: - To look at sound comparison Video of C930e with inbuilt/ integrated microphone, just lookup - "Multiple microphone unboxing and sound test" . I appreciate your taking time out to read this review Thank you! . 1DoctorGenius

I had the Logitech C930e Webcam up and running 5 minutes after getting it out of the box. Just plug and go on my 2012 Mac Mini running Yosemite 10.10.2 (plugged into an accessory USB port on my Dell monitor). A few minutes later I had downloaded the free control app. from the Logitech site and quickly found that I now had complete control over focus, brightness, contrast, white balance, and color saturation, not to mention the 9 levels of digital zoom, that's right, NINE levels of digital zoom, letting you see every hair on your chinny chin chin. By the way, the instruction manual (which I recommend downloading if you're interested in this model) talks about the software allowing pan and tilt functions. While the software does indeed let you move up or down or left or right, it's important to understand that this is accomplished digitally, not by moving the camera. You see, you start with this really nice wide angle image, and then they use the digital zoom to bring it one level, which of course cuts off a bit of the top, bottom, and sides, and then you can "pan" to either of those sides, or "tilt" to the top or bottom. So, of course, it's just the area that you would normally see if you had the camera zoomed all the way out. However, it does let you digitally move around in the image, and I can see how that could be useful in certain situations. My little studio is lit by one 60 watt LED warm white (2700k) bulb, and the C930e does a fine job on full auto. I'm quite pleased with the sharpness and quality of the image this little webcam produces under these less than ideal conditions. Although I'll be using a studio mic and headphones for most video jams, I did try out the mic, and it's quite sensitive and well suited for this application. It's also got a small, thin, half semi-circular white light on each side of the lens, with just enough light to let you know it's on, but not enough to be distracting. The little clip-on fold up or down privacy cover does it's job well for that extra piece of mind. I found the cord long enough for my needs (58"). The little attached clip works fine for sitting on top of my monitor, but it would have been nice to have had the ability to swivel the camera left or right, just a bit, but not a big deal. It is nice that they've included a 1/4" standard tripod adapter on the bottom of the mount, as that does open up a lot of options. I was a bit hesitant about spending the extra $$ on this model, but after several weeks of using it for my on-line jam sessions, I feel it's ability to produce good quality sharp video in dim lighting conditions make it a winner for me. I'm quite happy that I went with the Logitech C930e.

I use my C930e for streaming gameplay on Twitch and making video calls to relatives out of state. In this form factor (webcam... not other camera types) this is the best quality and value available. Pros: - VERY WIDE FoV [field of view]. Seriously... this thing is amazing. If you are going to be doing any green screen work you will appreciate this more than other people. This will mean that you don't have to worry about the top of your head, arms, or other parts of you from falling out of the field of view and making some odd looking artifacts. For video calls it's nice that 2 people can sit 3 feet from the camera and both be entirely in the shot. - The light to indicate that the camera is on is white. That may seem like no big deal but if the light were red or green and I would be in a low-light area it could affect the color of my skin on camera and be distracting. - Including the lens cap is perfect. When you are wanting to be seen you can leave it open and when you are not expecting to be seen you can close it and make sure that no prying eyes can see you. In cases of auto-answer for Skype calls or other [hacking] situations you can be sure that only audio could be grabbed because this cap is solid. - The clip for your monitor is great and securely holds the camera to your monitor or if you should choose to you could use a mini tripod. Cons: - Auto exposure won't yield the **BEST** results. They are good but they are not perfect. - Loses focus when you move around from time to time. You don't need to wave your hand in front of it or anything, but if your needing perfect focus while sitting in front of it you can lock focus using the setting on the Logitech app or in other software like OBS. - The built in mic is on par with an integrated mic from a laptop at best. Not enough people realize the power of good audio ESPECIALLY when it comes to video calls or recording. There are a lot of cheap options and some better more expensive ones but if space on your desk won't allow... the built-in mic will pass.

I have just bought and tested the Logitech C920, C925 and the C930. The Webcams are primarily used for VC for business discussions and have been used in single person and also with group VC calls. Key points after using all 3 are: C920 : Lowest price, good video and sound quality, angle 78 degrees C925: Mid price -clear video and sound quality, angle 78 degrees - sharper than C920 and C930 C930: Highest price sharper than C920 but not as sharp as C925. Much wider at 90degrees -- much wider at 90 degrees - for my use this was the best for VC's where we have 4 people around the table - the wider angle makes a clear difference I would recommend the C930 for group video calls as the 90 degrees makes a huge difference. Between C930 and C925 the picture frankly is very similar and the key is the angle coverage. On the C920 - it's a price game - $20 lower for lower video quality.

Great Camera! The extra zoom makes it worth the while over the C920. I am using VLC to live stream a Church Surface and the camera is about 50 feet away from the pulpit. The extra zoom allows me to tighten the view on the pulpit. Keep in mind that it is 30fps and not 60fps. You can't beat the price for an HD 1080@30FPS. The camera is designed for a business setting such as a large conference room. The sound quality is great when anyone speaks. However louder music sounds raunchier than the C920. It does not matter we're pulling the sound off the sound board and synchronizing to the video stream from the camera. I read the zoom was 3x for the C930 and was nervous the money spent would not be worth it over my C920. It turned out better than I imagined and glad I purchased it. Here are my VLC settings: vlc -vvv v4l2:///dev/video0:chroma=h264:width=1280:height=720:fps=30:standard=NTSC:audio-input=-1:audio-volume=-1:no-audio-mute:no-audio-loudness --input-slave 'alsa://hw:1,0' --sout '#transcode{vcodec=h264,venc=x264,scale=Auto,acodec=mpga,ab=128,channels=2,samplerate=44100}:rtp{sdp=rtsp://:8554/}'

I bought the Logitech C930e in hopes that it would provide a sharper image and improved performance than my original Logitech QuickCam 9000 Pro. The C930e did not disappoint. I purchased with caution, as I was warned via other websites that, as a "professional" device, the C930e did not include accompanying desktop software and tools to manipulate and customize its behavior, the way that the QuickCam 9000 Pro did. In my case, I needn't have worried: The C930e responds to basic commands from other Logitech webcam client software (note: you don't get much control, but at least you can operate it), and the other software I have that interacts with connected webcams work with the C930e, just fine. I've thus far used the C930e with WebEx, Skype, Camtasia and even ManyCam, with no issues. C930e images are sharper than the QuickCam 9000 (as expected). The C930e's field-of-view is wider (webcam viewers see more of me -- for better or worse ;-) ). Best of all: Because the C930e performs much of the image processing on-board, C930e streams are much more responsive and reliable than were streams from the QuickCam 9000 Pro. Whereas the QuickCam 9000 Pro bogged down my ManyCam software, when I was trying to "virtualize" and combine/mix media streams from multiple devices -- causing substantial video lag, ManyCam now handles C930e video streams with ease. Note that I've not used the C930e's built-in microphones. I understand that the C930e's stereo mic configuration provides enhanced audio capture, but I can't vouch for those capabilities.

This is an absolutely amazing webcam. I make online training courses. I record "head shot" videos to intro and then picture in picture over the screen grab. My laptop webcam was so lame that it was unusable. I tried to use my Sony a6000 but it was a royal pain to futz with and get it positioned etc. With this Logitech webcam I can set it up, then zoom and pan as needed to get my squarely in the shot. It is a breeze to set up with OBS Studio. I have used it with Adobe Premiere Elements also. The OBS Studio is very easy though, and free!! I set up OBS to save as MP4 file. You can also use it if you want to stream like on Twitch with the webcam as a picture in picture on side. The video is clean and crisp. The resolution is amazing. Even though you are doing digital zoom and pan with this you still get amazing video quality when zoomed in. The mic is OK... but it is a webcam mic, and will be quite distant to you. So if you want good audio plan on using an external USB mic of some sort. That will always get you much better audio. You don't have to spend a load on a Blue Yeti or something... although those are nice.

Step 1: Order this camera Step 2: Download the Logitech Camera software from Logitech Anyone complaining about this camera hasn't done step 2. You really need the software to get the most out of this camera. I'm using it with a Mac, and it works flawlessly. The software will allow you to pan, tilt, and zoom, all on the fly while using the camera. While it does have a wide field of view by default, zooming in can narrow it to your liking. Works great for video conferencing. Audio pickup is very good - no issues so far. The dual microphone does a good job of blocking background noise and delivering clear audio.

I bought this after reading stellar reviews of the C920 and that this one may be a slight upgrade. I was aware it would not come with any logitech software, and that is perfectly fine with me. I've been using it for over a year with no issues whatsoever. I use it with a free app called CamTwist, and it gives me tons of options for settings. Despite having a crisp image, I like the way the camera captures a "forgiving" look. I feel like it actually does make you look a little better. Colors can look a little different than they actually are, but this can be adjusted easily if desired. Sometimes the focus can be a little slow, but that can be adjusted/turned off. Be aware this camera does capture a much wider angle than most webcams, in case that's something you didn't want. Personally, I love the wide angle. The built in microphone is of pretty impressive quality. Overall, this is a sturdy, reliable webcam that fits my streaming needs perfectly.
