This is the best price for the tie-dye kit of any of the "marts" that I have been to. It is SO incredibly easy to use & the colors come out vibrant & don't wash out. I used this as a project for my daughter's birthday party & every girl's stuff turned out excellent. Love it & I will definitely use it again for future projects. One kit was enough for 11 girls to do 1 t-shirt and 1 pillow case. with some left over. However, the way the kits are designed, you get two full bottles of each color, but would have to refill and make another bottle. So, for simplicity & because of the amount of girls we had, I bought two kits so we would have the extra set of bottles out for the girls to use. However, you could just buy extra bottles, or take the time to make another bottle if necessary & still be fine.

Kind of messy

Great tie dye kit. Came with most things we needed. Would be nice if there was an easier way to put the refill powder into the bottles without making a huge mess

So fun - good directions - makes it easy for first timers

As a first time tie-dye-er this kit was really great. The directions were clear and easy to follow, and they even included directions for how to wash/prep the clothes for best results. There were a few pattern suggestions included as well, which was fun because I had no idea what I was doing. I love that it came with gloves and lots of rubber bands for "tying". And the extra dye packets make it totally worth it because you can save them for another time, or you have the ability to dye a larger lot of pieces. I did this with my 6 year old - she was very liberal with the dye - and we had enough dye to fully saturate 4 kid sized shirts, and we have not used the extra dye packs yet. Some things I learned for next time: * The blue is VERY dark. The bottles come with pre-measured amounts of dye already in them, so for the first time we just had what we had. But next time I think I will only use 1/2 of the blue dye packet so that I can get a lighter/brighter color out of it. * When working with kids and dye, CONTAIN EVERYTHING! The nozzle on the bottles is wide enough that as soon as you tip it the liquid starts to leak out. We had some splattering and our patterns came out a bit messy. And because we did the project in the winter, I lined my bathtub with a plastic table cloth from the dollar store to contain the mess. * Apply your colors lightest to darkest, being liberal with the lighter colors and more conservative with the darker colors. Especially the blue, which seemed to behave similar to black and just take over everything. Overall the colors are good, the directions are good, and the project was super fun. I would definitely purchase this kit again.

Fun for all

Kit was easy to use. Everything you need to tie dye. We used pillowcases and the kids loved it! We tie dyed 4 pillowcases and had enough product left in bottles to do at least 4 more! Next time around we are going to dye t shirts. The colors came out vibrant and very pretty. Was a nice project to do outside on a summers day!

Vibrant colors

Excellent kit! I had 28 shirts to dye and I had a little left over. I will say that I limited the kids to 3 colors and tried to keep a close eye so no one squirted the whole bottle on their shirt. I would recommend buying extra gloves as the kit only comes with a couple and we used trashbags to cover our clothes. The colors were rich and vibrant and the directions were great especially if you want to make different designs!

I haven't tie-dyed anything in over 40 years. This little kit makes the whole process so much easier and the results are really impressive. I tie-dyed shirts with my ol' man (lol) and the grandkids, ages 6 and 8, while we babysat them for the day. We all watched the YouTube video that Tulip One-Step Tie-Dye has posted, and then we went to work. It was good, creative fun and the kids were able to wear their shirts to bed by the end of the day. Far out! One tip: really soak the fabric with lots of dye in order to get color in all the nooks and crannies. One recommendation: you may want to try this project outdoors and wear old clothes or an apron.

Great deal and great shirts

This was a great product at a very reasonable price. I ordered two packs, to tie dye with my fifth graders. I used salad dressing bottles for the replacement package to provide students with two shades of each color. I had to buy extra gloves and rubber bands, but we had plenty of tie dye left over. The shirt turned out great and the kids were able to do it! Will definitely order again for my next dye project!

Great coloring

Bright colors and deep stains with this set. After letting the dye set for 24 hours I soaked in vinegar for 24 hours before rinsing clean. Really happy with how my shirts came out. I had enough product to dye 6 large shirts although I went heavy with the dye on each shirt. I could have made it stretch to more shirts if needed.

This was a terrific kit! It's the first time I tried tie dying with my kids. We invited friends, so there were 5 kids and 2 adults in all tie dying shirts and we had plenty of die left over to have done more if we had wanted to. It was super easy, the directions were fantastic, and almost everything we needed was right in the kit. I took the advice of other reviewers and just kept refilling the squeeze bottles with water when they got about a third of the way empty. This really extended the amount of die we had and also provided cool variations in the colors we got. I'm thinking of ordering this again for the kids to die Christmas presents for the family, except we will be armed with a lot more die-able items so we don't let any go to waste!

These colors are bright and vibrant and do not fade after washing, We used these to dye cloth napkins and kitchen towels that we wash regularly. They look just as good as they did when we first made them. I really like this product and will definitely purchase again in the future.
