Nice for exterior security cameras
Works well for my 4x Nest outdoor cameras. I have this setup in my attic and my cameras run off extension cords that all feed from this backup. I tested it by shutting off the power to my house and was able to get more than 5 hours of run-time powering my cameras (during the day, no infrared needed). That's plenty for my intended use. Note: if you use this for a similar security setup, ensure you also get a battery backup for your internet modem and router. I have my exterior cable junction box and power box locked with heavy duty combination locks + battery backups, so even if someone cuts the power to my house or tries messing with my internet connection, my cameras will keep running and capture the fool up to no good.

Great UPS. ECO outlets are particularly useful for some cases
It works well as advertise. Solid construction, bright LED with useful information, supporting software you can download from web is well implemented and useful. ECO outlets were especially useful to me. I have one particular LCD monitor which has an adapter that keeps making very annoying fade-buzzing sound when monitor is under stand-by mode (no buzzing when monitor is fully powered or adapter plug is off). Adapter itself works well, but this buzzing sound keeps getting on my nerve. So instead of spending $35 for replacement adapter for the monitor (which I am not even sure it will resolve my issue), I decided to get this UPS with an assumption that if ECO outlets completely cuts power off when computer is off, then I don't have to keep plugging monitor power cable off every time I am done with my work - and yes it works! You can configure ECO mode, so that if you don't need this functionality, you can change mode and use outlet as normal surge-protected outlets. Just keep in mind, in order to use ECO mode properly, you need to connect supplied USB cable from UPS to your PC so that when PC is powered, UPS will be notified and turn power on to ECO outlets. I have been using multiple CyberPower UPS in my home, and none of them failed me so far (have 4 of them with all different max capacity)

Review of a CyberPower 650 VA, and CyberPower 825 VA (purchased years ago)
I have found CyberPower UPS systems to be very easy to install, durable, and reliable. I live rural residential and have used CyberPower UPS systems for years. These CyberPower UPS systems have literally been a computer operating systems (OS) life-saver over the past several years. I use tower PCs. Unlike laptops, tower PCs have no internal power supply that allows you to perform a proper shut down ("soft landing") of the computer's OS should you suffer a power outage. Without UPS support, a power outage will simply crash your system, which may cause you to lose the data in your RAM, and quite possibly your computer's OS as well. Sizing your UPS is simply a matter of summing the wattage of all of the "things" (computer and peripheral loads) you intend to plug into it. As a master electrician and power engineer, I recommend you multiply the wattage obtained in this summation by 1.25 (125%) to determine the UPS size. The UPS size, in terms of VA (volt-amps) or Watts, should be greater than this calculation. This will allow the UPS to better handle the connected load. Since wattage is heat, the wattage rating of the UPS is the maximum amount of heat it can safely handle. The 1.25 multiplier serves as a derating factor that will prolong the operating life of your UPS.

EC850LCD
First, let me say I have purchased numerous (over 10) Cyberpower UPS system, both non-sinewave as well as sinewave. These are excellent units. I purchased this EC850LCD in order to keep a couple of NAS storage devices powered in case of an outage. When it arrived it was obviously damage during the shipping process. When you picked up the box, it rattled terribly. Not wanting to plug it in, since I was not sure what was going on inside, and not wanting to open it, possibly voiding any warranty, I contacted Amazon. I had a replacement in 2 days. Now listen up, especially all you Joe's out there who like to write bad reviews because you jump to conclusions and presume things that are not stated, It is true that Amazon will not accept returns on UPS units that they sell. They obviously don't want to deal with the shipping problems that can arise when shipping lead acid batteries, HOWEVER, that does not mean they will not send you a new one, if yours in damaged or dies within the 30 day window. Amazon never says, as some reviewers would like you to believe, that you are stuck with a bad UPS, and too bad for you. As I said, I received a new one, which works fine. I still have the old rattling broken one which I will properly dispose of. Great Job Amazon, keep it up!!!

Good for small, low power needs. Be sure to buy the bigger size if you have a power hungry computer.
This has Linux support so that's almost an instant win for me in this price point. Be advised however the smallest model is just not enough power to run a fancy computer. The UPS was not enough juice to power either my desktop or my media server in the basement for more than 3 minutes. No big deal, I will use these for other, less power hungry electronics. Keep in mind if you have a 400w power supply, that will draw more energy than this unit can provide. :) Sounds so simple when I say it now, but it never occurred to me when I bought these. I jumped onto Amazon to buy 2 of the bigger units to power my home server and Mac and thought I'd write this real quick to help others.

Nothing is perfect, but Cyber Power comes close!
I have bought from Cyberpower before. ( CyberPower CP1500AVRLCD Intelligent LCD UPS System, 1500VA/900W, 12 Outlets, AVR, Mini-Tower ) Just before Irma hit us I had bought two of their (above) UPS Systems. We often have power outages and brown outs. Besides the one above, we have bought a couple of others that were Cyber Power and they lasted a very long time. One lasted about 5 years and the other we just got rid of, so it lasted almost 10 years Since I have had really positive experiences with this companies UPS I wasn't too concern about buying them again. I bought this one so that my Dish would stop having to restart each time our power flipped. I have to say I am still a happy customer. I have used this particular on for about two months now, and have had no problems with it. I am not tech savvy so I can't dazzle your with technical jargon as to why these works so well and why you should buy them. What I can tell you is that they do what they should do and they do it very well. The prices are reasonable, especially for what they are intended to do. Would you rather pay 90 bucks for a UPS that will protect your computer or other electronic device or pay out hundreds or thousands replacing them after a power surge? I know these work as they should because one time power line was hit by lightening which then traveled into our house and our computers on the old UPS were either slightly damaged to no damage at all, while some things not on a UPS were fried! I highly recommend people to buy UPS systems and I would also recommend Cyber Power as the company to buy from. I do suggest that you take the time to research what exact type you need. Each UPS has a certain voltage/wattage it uses. You don't want to buy one has a high one if you don't need it, because its a waste of money. You don't want to buy one that provides too low of the amount of voltage/wattage because then it will drain the battery and be useless and at times can overheat and probably burn up. An informed customer is a smart buyer. You will waste less money, time and aggravation if you just take a little time to check your devices for the voltage/wattage it used and the voltage/wattage the UPS provides. Thank you!

Lasts much longer than expected
I bought this to provide backup power for my modem, wifi router, and my smart hub in the event of an outage so that my security system will continue to work in a storm. I also have my TV box on this as well just so it doesn't take forever to restart after the storm. These are all relatively low power devices but I wanted something to power them for at least an hour. This product did the trick. I have experienced outages of one hour to one and a half hours and never has the UPS died. It switches seemlessly without any noticable glitch in power. I like this product so much I am considering buying a larger one for my television so I can watch it even without power. That might be a little overkill but who wants to go without television.

Does what I need, no complaints.
Using this for my desktop PC, a 40" and a 50" LCD monitors (TV's really). Because of the power drawn, i'm warned from time to time that I'm pulling too much current and that my run time will be around 5 minutes. It's fine for me because I'm running on a system that can shutdown well before the 5 minute mark. It's saved my butt a few times from brown outs and at least one power outage in our area. My only criticism might be that the CyberPower software on the PC is a little cheap looking. Maybe they need a graphic artist to help them spruce up that 90's interface.

Has enough battery power to open and close garage door 3 times.
Connected this to my 1/2 hp 2 car garage door opener. turned off the beeping and after 24 hours of charging, turned off the GDO power from the breaker and tested it. Unit still beeps when drawing from battery power and while in standby awaiting a signal from a remote, but garage door operates like normal for the first 3 full open and close cycles, then starts to slow down. I aborted the 4th opening and turned the breaker back on so as not to drain the battery too deeply, but yes, this works and is a much cheaper alternative than replacing the entire GDO unit for $350 + installation or to add a garage door branded battery backup for $150 if it was even compatible. System does slow drain while de-powered so I don't know how long it can go for after the power goes out before it no longer has enough battery juice left to open the door, like in the case of an hours/days long hurricane. But for the inconvenient power outages, this works perfectly.

Solid product at a good price
One advantage to using a laptop as a desktop is that it runs on a battery when the power cuts out. I live in an area where the power often fluctuates - I know this because the lights flicker a couple of times a week. So when I decided to beef up my computer system to a real desktop, I knew I needed something where the power could be relied upon, much like having a battery in a laptop. So far this unit has performed well and I have not lost any data. Yes, you can spend more for a more substantial UPS, but if you are looking to simply protect your computer and your data, this product works well.
