Am a daily steamer :) This steamer holds up better than the metal ones and I love that I can lift it out ( be very careful of the steam that continues to rise from the pan) and remove the vegetables quite easily. It is a bit larger than your average metal steamer but not too big really. The pan I generally use has an 8" diameter if that helps and is about 4 3/4 " high. And, no parts have fallen off like the legs or metal circular part on standard metal steamers often do. Hope this helps!

This is our second time purchasing. My wife was steaming vegetables to make baby food and got distracted and it eventually melted and fused a bit. We were devastated because we use this thing all the time. It works well, fit all our our pot sizes, and has been very durable.

It's a great little steamer basket. With most of my pans being non stick I needed to find a basket that wouldn't scratch them. This one fits the bill perfectly. This is the third one that I've purchased and they last forever (unless you forget to put water in the pot before turning on the stove - 2 times!!! grrr!). The only complaint I have (and it's not really a complaint) is that the outside of the steamer has little nubs so the sections don't rest on the sides of the pot. this creates a smaller area to put the vegetables in. Does not affect the quality of the product at all but I just can't put as many veggies in unless I use the bigger pot. (not really an issue at all)

This is a great alternative to the cheap and flimsy metal steamer baskets we're all used to. It's easy to lift out with bare hands without burning yourself. My wife and I also really like the way it looks. My big complaint about the typical metal ones is that you can't pull them out of a pot with your hand because they're too hot, so you have to lift them out with a fork. I'd tried an Oxo steamer basket that had a plastic handle you could grab, but it had a spring-loaded handle that wore out and would expand without warning, spilling veggies to a fro. Two things worth noting: - When placed in a smaller pot, the folding "wings" stick up farther than other baskets I've used. This means you can't put the lid on without a larger gap than you might want. Not really a problem for me though. - It's plastic, which means it can melt if you place it too close to a cooktop. Do I speak from experience? Yes. That's one of the reasons I'm ordering a second one.

adequate drainage holes, fits perfectly in a 6qt electric pressure cooker, no sharp edges to scrape up nonstick surfaces

Perfect little steamer! Works in my stockpot as well as my small and medium saucepans. I use it to steam frozen veggies to puree into baby food. It's very easy to use and clean, and there's no chance of rusting or sharp edges since there's no metal at all. After reading some of the other reviews before buying I was a bit worried about it melting, but now I'm pretty sure those people were just using it wrong--definitely need to make sure there is enough water in the bottom of the pan, which means that you might need to check and add more throughout the steaming process. However, anything touching the pan itself is silicone, so as long as there is water in the pan, you'll be good to go.

So tired of this metal steamer baskets because eventually the sides fall off. I was so pleased to find this on it also has the convenient handle where you can lift whatever you steamed out instead of trying to use up a hookah fork and knife whatever. Great price works perfectly highly highly recommended.

I've been using this for 2 months primarily to steam fruits and veggies to make baby food. Works really well in a few different size pots/saucepans. No problems with melting. I keep the water level in the pan just touching the bottom of the basket as directed. Works great to just remove the basket from the pan and put in the sink to rinse food. Love that it expands to fit different size pots. Easy to clean (I've really just rinsed it by hand). Folds up compact to store. In some shallower pots, the handle in the center is a little tall and the lid touches it while steaming, but that hasn't affected the handle or melted any parts. Would buy again.

This folding steamer basket is something I use all the time to quickly steam veggies in my pressure cooker. Even at that high temperature, this basket has not lost its shape and functions just as well as the first day I got it. Obviously, you can be rough w/ when washing it to avoid the possibility of the plastic hinges snapping apart but it's really not that big of an issue. Overall, I'm impressed w/ it's durability for as much usage at I get out of it.

I just gor it and used it in a pressure cooker to hard boil some eggs. NO melting and immediately upon release of the pressure, I was able to pick it up with no cloth or hot mat. (It was pretty hot but not scalding ... it had started to cool that quickly ... but please be safe and use a towel or hot mat to lift it out) It fits right into my electric pressure cooke perfectly. I had visions of it expanding to below the full lin and having to dingle with it but ... NOT SO - the petals touch just above the line so easy IN and easy OUT with the cooked product.
