Worked out great. Temperature stayed at correct marks and the meat did retain an apple flavor. I even smoked oatmeal cookies with these and the cookies have a a hint of apple flavoring. Well worth the buy and will buy again.

No more biolite wood pellets, this camp chef wood pellets is more cheap than biolite.

My husband and I love these pellets. We have a Camp Chef smoker and the flavor the apple wood pellets gives the food is really great. It's mild and sweet and they produce very little ash. We smoked a 20+ lb turkey with this and it only produced about three tablespoons of ash. Our family had our smoked turkey, a fried one and a traditionally oven roasted one and while all were good, ours was the definite favorite.

I've used 10 bags of the Camp Chef applewood pellets in my Camp Chef Smoke Pro Smoker/Grill and the family has raved about everything I've smoked. It is a subtle apple scent and thankfully I've never had anything come out acrid, which can happen with some wood species. Note that Camp Chef pellets, just like many others are a blend of alder and the wood that is on the label. Alder gives off somewhat of a neutral smoke. They give off much more smoke at lower cooking temps, so if you are running your pellet smoker above 350 deg it will perform more like an oven than a smoker, which is fine with me. We have used ours for baking at those temps and the grandkids LOVE the chocolate chip cookies that we'll make whenever we are finished smoking meats.

Most expensive than others but I can tell a big difference. Less ash, burn hotter longer, and more smoke.

Perfect for the Smoker Tube https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DHINQSK/ You do need a gas torch to light them up - a standard BBQ ligher won't do. And i don't recommend adding any fire starter cube or fluid as it might add foul smells. Succesfully smoked a bunch of cheese in my grill Tube in the bottom, a deep try full of ice over the Smoking Stone and cheese on top. Left the middle ring out so i could add more ice during smoking. Here in Texas you need the ice so the cheese won't melt (too much).

We've been experimenting with our new smoker grill combo, and the apple wood has been a great way to start out. Everything we've cooked so far, had a mild, smoky flavor that didn't overpower the taste of the food.

I have to say I am very pleased with the quality of these pellets. They burn well and seem to stay solid. I store them in a plastic container until I need them and they stay in one solid piece and don't crumble. The ones that are left in the feed bin for a period of time are the same way and they may be in there for a couple of months or more. I used them to smoke a turkey for Thanksgiving this year and they worked perfect. The skoe infused the bird very well and had a great taste. I had to order another bag because I almost ran out. Pros: Good price Well Made Burn consistent Stays together Does not plug the pot feeder Cons: My wife likes the taste so much I have to keep cooking....who am I kidding...I love to cook on my smoker. I would recommend these to anyone for a try...you wont be disappointed.

I've got a four year old Trager and these work great! As the other reviews mentioned these pellets seem a little tougher and are longer than other brands I've used, but they fed fine, keep a good temperature, and taste great. And at under a buck a pound, they're a no-brainer.

Great value and burns well in my SmokinCube. Once lit they stay burning for me for around 5-6 hours, which is what I need. I find the flavor from these pellets is decent enough but fairly strong so some experimentation may be in order to get the right amount of smoke flavor that you want.
