Exactly the same as I had used years ago - perfect for travel - works as described, near instantly.

Works great at getting bleeding to stop. Stings a lot, but worth it when I need to run out the door and don't have time for dabbing with a piece of tissue. The plastic cover of the case is a bit flimsy, but so far it has held up to a few drops.

I don't know why I never had one of these before. I don't nick myself often, but before I had this, it was a big pain to make the bleeding stop. This thing is a lifesaver, and will probably last me ten years. Awesome purchase.I also use it on my dog's nails if I ever hit the quick.

We used it on our dog who had a bleeding polyp until we could get him to the vet. It worked great - it really saved us. I have also used it on my small cuts and it worked immediately to stop the bleeding. It stings a bit when you first apply it but doesn't bother me a bit. I just dip the stick in water to wet it and apply to cut.

This is an indispensable item for every one who shaves, gardeners, craftsmen, etc.. Quickly stops bleeding of surface lacerations and protects against infection. When handling thorny brush, for example, a quick swipe stops the stain of blood on clothes, or when shaving a slight nick is quickly checked and less noticeable than tissue or Band-aide. Not a new invention; but an old and proven item, and a must have for every bath and tool box.

These Styptic Pencils are even thinner than I thought they would be and will need to take care so they do not break. In the future I would buy the thicker ones.

Apparently styptic pencils have been around for generations, and yet I had never heard of them until recently. How many times have I cut myself shaving and then stood with a tissue pressed to my face for 10-15 min trying to stop the bleeding??? Now, that issue is gone. Now I just use my styptic pencil and the problem is solved in seconds. Update: My wife, daughter, and sister-in-law have discovered my styptic pencil for when they nick themselves while shaving their legs. They love it and can't believe they have gone this long without it.

Anyone who shaves should have one.

I'm sure it's fine. I've never used one before, but I like having it just in case.

I wouldn't say "I love it" as the 5 star review indicates, but it most certainly is cheap and better than sticking toilet paper to your face.
