I can't say enough good things about this line from Samsonite! Since purchasing them a year ago to replace my older luggage I've taken them all over Brazil, all over Argentina, Singapore a dozen times, Bangkok at least once a month for the last 2 years, Ho Chi Min, all over Cambodia, and of course on trips around the US. I've thrown them on and off buses, dragged them from train to train, crammed them in and out of more taxis and shuttles than I can count, and dragged them about a mile and a half down the road in the rain (they're surprisingly water resistant at the seams and expansion fabric...although certainly not water proof). Through it all the handles have held up, despite the larger two consistently weighing in at 70 lbs and the carry-on frequently tipping the scale at close to 40 lbs (don't tell the airlines...that's way too heavy for a carry-on to be) and the wheels are still in amazing shape. The bags also look fantastic given them beating they get! There are a few scratches here and there and I've frequently gotten a bag back with a corner smashed in...but it always pops right back into place with no issues, and the contents are always safe and secure. The locks are still in perfect working order...the handles still slide in and out easily and feel solid when locked into place. All of the zippers work perfectly. The single significant gripe I have about this set of bags that would make it absolutely perfect would be more handles. The carry-on only has a handle on the top of the bag...which makes it a bit awkward for carrying up and down stairs...a side handle like the other two have would be ideal. It would also be nice if there was a grip of some sort on the bottom so that you could more easily lift with two hands when moving it up onto a rack or something of that nature...while most purchasers won't use them to the degree that I do, most will at some point want to put this bag onto a stand in the hotel or lift one up onto a shelf in the terminal bus...the largest bag in particular has a deceptive amount of storage space (I've had it loaded to 104 lbs) and picking it up by the top handle and a rotating wheel is...not super fun. That one caveat though shouldn't discourage anyone from buying them...they've stood as well and better to any number of other more expensive bags I've owned, including other Samsonites...I've been very pleased with them, and expect them to last at least another few years at my current travel pace. For people like my parents who only fly a few times a year this bag could very well be the last one you ever have to buy. EDIT 02/17/2017: I've now purchased 3 full sets of this luggage, 2 in Charcoal for me and a purple set for my girlfriend. I can literally pack everything we own save our camping gear and bikes in those 9 bags...to date the only issue I've ever had was that someone tried to get into one of them and tore through the zipper with a screwdriver or knife...the end result was one zipper clasp was completely missing and a few teeth on the zipper got bent up pretty badly. I sent it off to one of their authorized dealers in Singapore though and was able to repair it with no issues while I was in Malaysia for a few months. EDIT 01/11/2018: After 2 years and just shy of 100 flights, I ripped the seam of the inside liner on one medium bag. I don't think this was the result of bad workmanship however, rather I'd only packed clothes and some camera gear into the top section and zipped it off. The other side was not entirely empty but close. I think at some point the pressure of the gear against the fabric divider, without the support of gear on the opposite side allowed enough motion to cause the seam to give out. It's being repaired now...I'll add a picture once I get it back.

Perfect fit for JetBlue's 22x14x9 and other baggage sizers! Love it

UPDATE: It is now April 2019. I've used this suitcase three more times since I wrote this original review. (I never travel.) It's holding up very well and still working as well as the day I bought it. The outside has gotten a bit dinged up but that has zero effect on its usefulness. I continue to wholeheartedly recommend this suitcase for casual travelers like myself who need a nice, no-nonsense spinner bag. I ordered this suitcase just prior to a week-long trip to Arizona. I traveled by plane, using this as a carry-on with United. It fits within their carry-on guidelines. PROS: - Shockingly spacious inside given the outside measurements! Several helpful doodads (interior zippers and pockets, straps to hold down clothes and other items) to help me cram a ton of things inside -- enough for a packing-heavy lady to travel for a week with two pairs of shoes, several different outfits, and toiletries. - Extremely convenient four-wheel design. I had never owned a suitcase with this option before and I will never go back to two wheels. This completely saved my arm/shoulder walking through the huge Phoenix and Denver airports, especially with a full messenger bag tucked over the top handle weighing it down. - Gorgeous color. I got this in the purple shade and it truly is a sight to behold. Easy to distinguish in a crowd. - I am 5'4" and not particularly strong; I had no trouble lifting this in/out of overhead bins or on/off escalators. - Strong, easy-to-close zippers and super convenient locking mechanism. CONS: - The suitcase can be difficult to maneuver on four wheels at times, especially when I had the messenger bag resting on top. It did tip over once when I was a little too overzealous. This issue did not come up anywhere near frequently enough to cut a star, but is worth mentioning. - The beautiful exterior does seem to scratch rather easily. Overall, I strongly recommend this suitcase to any casual traveler searching for a 20" model. I love it and I hope you will too!

Very sturdy, light weight, and easy to roll. I needed a big and sturdy luggage for our family travel to Europe. We rented a car in Europe for a month. This fits perfectly for our rent car Volvo wagon. Three of this size of luggages fit in the trunk. If I purchased 28 inch, I would regret because. 24 inch is perfect for handling and fitting into the rent car. It isn't over weight for the flight too! For the 28 inch luggage, it's easy to be charged over-weight fee.

Bought two of these for myself and my boyfriend for our recent trip to Italy for 12 days. These bags fit the American Airlines International Flight Requirements.. I was quite surprised that I was able to fit many different outfit options in this suitcase by strategically packing using packing cubes. This luggage was very durable and I love the zippered sides inside the bag. Would highly recommend!

I bought this a year ago. 2/3/17. I travel at least once a week. Yes, it is scratched up but who cares. It gets my clothes to and from wherever I go without any problems. No problems with the wheels or the case itself. I haven't used the lock because it doesn't matter. If they want to search your luggage they will, and there is nothing that the baggage handlers will want to steal. I traveled 72,000 miles last year with this bag. The reason I'm putting up this review is that I am buying the 20" and I hope it will be just as strong. I don't need the space for 3 day trips. I tried to add pics but I couldn't figure out how.

The negative reviewers either were unnecessarily rough with the suitcase, or they just had some bad luck. If you are worried about the zipper splitting, get yourself some of those luggage straps that buckle around the luggage - shouldn't HAVE to do this, but airport staff usually don't care too much about how they handle your checked luggage. Anyway, I like the suit cause - it's incredibly light for such a big and heavy-duty suitcase. Because it is so big, it will be easy to over pack and end up over the weight limit. It is worth picking up a $10 luggage scale. You already spent over $100, so it's a worthy investment to prevent yourself from paying overweight fees. Good luck!

This is the 3rd set of these bags I've purchased. I own 2 full sets myself and just bought the purple set for my girlfriend as a Christmas gift...her luggage was falling apart on us when we were traveling so she always used one of my sets anyway. They really are incredible pieces of luggage...to date I've had them out in the rain, loaded them up with upwards of 150 lbs and then thrown a 100 lb duffel on top and still rolled them around with relative ease and with no degradation or breaks in the wheels (although with this much weight the bag will start to sag if you have the expansion zipper unzipped...which I think should probably be expected). Thus far the only two issues I've had with any of them is that: ...one telescoping handle on the carry on of one of my sets is slightly bent now after I dropped it down an escalator with the handle extended. The impact at the bottom with 65 lbs of weight behind it was enough to cause a small bend. As a result it didn't slide in and out quite as easily as before until I took two minutes to gently bend it back. Now it works perfectly but has a blemish. ...someone tried to break into one of them in Thailand and ripped a zipper tab off entirely as well as bending up a number of teeth. They didn't actually get anything out of it, but I did have to send the bag to the service center in Singapore. This might surprise you, but they don't cover lunatic thief damage in the warranty so it cost a few bucks to get a new tab. I actually opted for buying TWO new tabs so they matched perfectly...so that was a few more dollars on top of the few dollars it had cost before! Vanity. It'll get you every time. Otherwise these bags have been abused by literally dozens and dozens of angry airport baggage handlers, bored taxi drivers, underpaid hotel and bus porters, and I've never gotten them back with anything inside damaged. PS4 always works like a charm and my shampoo is always in the bottle where it belongs! They're exactly what you'd want in a functional suitcase. One thing that might be nice would be more handles...the carry on only has one handle on the top, and would greatly benefit from one on the side like it's two larger counterparts, and it would be nice if there was an indention or some other way to grip the bottom...throwing this onto the top of a truck when it's fully loaded when all you can hold onto is one handle and a wheel is not fun. ...but to be fair, most of Samsonite's target demo won't be throwing this suitcase onto the top of a truck. So there's that! :)

I'm in the airline business and I travel a lot. I was using a suitcase made for flight crews but it was heavy. I packed a week's worth of clothes for a trip to Iceland and when placed on the airport scale, the whole package weight 28lbs! I ordered the charcoal gray but orange would have been OK too. The gray color is easier to spot now among the sea of black suitcases on the carousel! The only negative is there is no outboard strap to attach a briefcase, etc.

I purchased the Samsonite 28" Spinner for business and personal travel. The suitcase looks great, I purchased charcoal, and is LARGE with multiple pockets (see pictures). I fully understand this will likely be scratched after being loaded and unloaded and thrown about by airport attendants. I also like the zipper lock feature. I understand others have commented about its integrity because it's made of plastic. I figure, if it breaks I'll use one of my TSA approved locks. I'm not downscoring because this isn't a necessity, but rather a nice-to-have. It's expandable (picture below), and comes with a soft cover (also pictured). For the price I paid, $120.00, I don't think there's a better suitcase on the market. It looks good, has a quality name, and will fit in with other business travelers (who've often paid 4-5x the price). Thank you for reading and rating my comment!
