The Manliest of Garments

I wish I'd bought one sooner! This kilt is incredibly comfortable. It feels very well made and the detachable pockets are spacious for everything I need. I ordered according to the waist measuring guide, so it's still just a hair bigger on me, but I need a belt for my knife anyway, so it worked out very well. Will definitely be buying another soon. The shipping was also incredibly fast and it arrived exactly when anticipated.

My favorite hiking kilt.

My first kilt was a highlander from DNKE and I just bought a second highlander kilt because it's a great lightweight kilt that's perfect for hiking. It fits well and the buttons keep the kilt secure. The freedom of movement and coolness in heat are two of my favorite features of this (and most all) kilts. The pleats wash well; just remember to pull them straight and set the folds when you're hanging it to dry. The detachable pockets are great because you can wear none, or just one, or both. They're also huge pockets; I fit a six pack in two of them and was quite appreciated when I got back to camp.

Love the kilt. Well made. Good materials. If there were one thing I'd do differently, it'd be to order the sport model as it has pockets that are affixed on the top and bottom. I find that the freed bottoms of the "Highlander" tend to flap a bit as I walk. Not a design flaw so much as a characteristic of the design. Still, for my first utility kilt, I'm pretty stoked! Nothing but compliments on the cut and finish.

Truly, a kilt is for a man to wear! I love it!

This is a very nice kilt! The fabric is soft, but feels durable. Kilts are the most comfortable item a MAN can wear and you will get a lot of compliments on it! It is a very handsome garment with plenty of loops to hang keys and other items from. The pockets are large and detachable which comes in handy if you want to lighten the load! I love this kilt and my next will be the Smithy availabile at DNKE I plan to buy a couple of denim utility kilts I can use for work. Bottom line? If you really want to go pantless, once you try a kilt, you will never go back! I love these and would definitely recommend it to everyone else! Now the fitting and sizing part........ I measured my waist as instructed and came up with 40 inches at my belly button so I ordered a 40 inch kilt and what I got was big enough for two people! So, I tried the SM/MD 34-36 waist since I wear a 34-36 Levis 501 jeans. That one was too small, so I returned it and ordered the Medium, 36-38 and Bravo! Perfect fit! Lesson here? Kilts do not fit like pants, they are FAR more comfortabile, but remember, kilts do not hang from a one inch band off your hips and that is kind of the whole point!!! They fit from you belly button area, maybe a bit lower if you like, and follow your waist all the way down past you hips, so you are holding you Kilt up with about 6 inches of you body! This gives you an incredible amount of breathing room, freedom of movement and comfort! The Damn Near Kilt Em Highlander is a very handsome attractive piece you can wear to church, formal events and every day use! I love it!

LOVE IT!!!!!

I wore it all day yesterday at the Ren Fair... All day... super comfy, it has three different measurements. Super light, looks awesome (I ironed it when I received to remove the marks from the packaging), love the pockets! Definitely, something I will wear to bear parties, dancing, bars, everywhere! After seen the different prizes online and walking the whole Ren Fair with friends who wanted to buy a kilt I can say a couple extra things: 1- This kilts' quality is MUCH better than what is on the market. 2- Also much cheaper (ranges from 70 to 350) against really cheap looking and poorly crafted ones. 3- I say probably 4 or 5 guys wearing DNKE kilts and for sure they look much better than other s**** (It's easier, of course, to see it on others than on yourself). Just look at the pic, my friend is wearing a very similar kilt he got a few years ago and paid 280 for it!!!!! You can't go wrong with this one.... Make your measurements as instructed. with the 3 options you will certainly get some room to grow or to release during a day of turkey legs and TONS of alcohol on top of the regular blotting of the day. Other update: After several uses, washing in the machine in normal and heat dry in normal as well: still as new!

Love it get lots of compliments on it.

Good quality tartan kilt. The reason I said it was small is because of a medical condition I have. I did the measurement like it said and I have 39 in waist. Because of my medical condition all the lymphatic fluid from my leg goes in to my belly area at night making my waist 42 inches. I did not think of that when getting my kilt.

Freaking badarse!

This is my first kilt and it's absolutely, undeniably, awesome!! It just arrived. As soon as I tried it on, I thought "I should have been rocking a kilt a long time ago." Tomorrow I'm heading out to a parade and I know without a doubt, I'm going to DAMN NEAR KILT 'EM. Check back for photos over the coming week. Sláinte!

Perfect warm weather kilt

This was my 3rd kilt from DNKE and I'm happy to report that it is as well-built as the last two. The material is quite a bit lighter than the "Smithy" (very similar to their "Sport" model). As was expected, the fit is right on (measure at your belly button level (which is where the kilt is meant to be worn)). The fact that this has removable pockets makes this the perfect summer kilt (If you want to take a swim you can load your items into the pockets and stow them somewhere safe until you are done taking a swim). The crew and DNKE have created another great product and I'm a happy owner three times over. I do hope they make another HEAVY kilt like the "Smithy", but with different styling, soon so I can purchase a 4th from them!

Well made and good value for price

I like this kilt and have worn it several times. Always get compliments when I do. I especially like the "utility pouches" that attach to the sides which save me from needing to wear a sporran to carry a wallet or car keys. It seems to be well made and has 3 snap adjustments on the inside and 3 on the outside for a more secure fit. I still feel the need to wear a kilt belt with it though. I'd definitely recommend this kilt.
