These are amazing for deveining shrimp. My husband thought I was kidding when I said they worked better than any deveiner I had ever used ... we are in Florida and eat shrimp regularly. He tried them and raved about them ... I may have to buy a second pair. They also work great on crab legs.

Every once in a while a product comes along that so exceeds expectations I want to give it more than a five, tell all my friends about it, and make people buy it. This is one of those products. 18 years ago we moved to Louisiana, home of some of the best shrimp anywhere. However, we get it head and shell on. For 18 years I've been trying gadgets and gizmos to make peeling shrimp easier. None really worked well. Then I was watching America's test kitchen and they recommended these. I was skeptical, but for less than a cheap dinner out I decided to give them a try. Wow! I mean wow! they cut through the back of the shell, the curve fits perfectly, and they just slice into the back of the shrimp, so I can easy take out the black vein line when I pinch off the tail. It's really unbelievable how fast and easy this made cleaning and deveining the shrimp was using these scissors. Great great product

The curve of these scissors is just perfect for shrimp. Removing the shell is a breeze, and, as it cuts, the scissors also dislodge the intestinal tract, which is then easy to remove with fingers while removing the shell: no second round with a paring knife is required. I paid $7.62, which makes them an incredible value. I made shrimp & grits today and couldn't believe how quickly I zipped through 2 pounds of shrimp!

Work well for the essential removal of the top poop vein but they also work well if held handled backwards for the black non-esthetic bottom nerve vein.

My husband raised his eyebrows when I gave him these. But once he used them he really likes them. Saw them demonstrated on America's Test Kitchen.

I only use it for shrimp and it does justice to it's # 1 review from America's Test Kitchen. It works great and doesn't tear up the shrimp like push through deveiners. I would not trust it on harder crab shells, and although it probably would survive the bottom of a lobster tail, I would use poultry shears or other scissors for that as well.

Saw these on America's Test Kitchen as recommended to save time pelling and deveining srhimp. They work pretty well with shrimp, but also very good for cutting crab shells. Can wash in the dishwasher, so that's a plus. I would buy this again.

I purchased the scissors based on recommendations of Cooks Illustrated and I am very pleased with the purchase. It is the best way I have found to shell shrimp.

This is a one use item, but if you clean raw shrimp more than a few times, you will be glad that you have these scissors. The curved blades fit right along the back of the shell, and the bottom of the scissors open up the back vein of the shrimp as you cut the shell. The vein then can be easily removed. Americans Test Kitchen rates these as the best, and for good reason. Well worth the purchase.

Shelling shrimp, either raw or boiled is a messy job. I ordered a pair of these scissors to see if they really worked. They are easy and efficient to use. I ordered a second pair that same night so my husband and I won't have to share the scissors while munching our way through a big pile of hot boiled shrimp. The curved blade cuts efficiently through the curved top of the shrimp shell, making them much easier and faster to peel.
