I am trying to regain movement in my shoulder after rotator cuff surgery. My therapist asked if I had a pulley at home. I ordered this one and love it for a variety of reasons. I like the hook over the door. It stays on the door with no problem. I don't have to take it up and down. This would be difficult since I am quite short and my right arm doesn't reach up very high yet. I also like the swivel so that no matter what I do with the pulley it is facing the right direction. The string is quite long. I can hold it any way I want and there is more than enough string to do the movement.

I tried many of the shoulder exercises that my physical therapist taught me at my appointments and others that I discovered in online searches. For some reason, no one told me about this product until my physical therapist daughter came to visit and casually asked if the PT I was seeing had me using this. I said no and she seemed surprised. I immediately ordered one and took her advice on a few of the exercises to try. After just one session I could tell that my range of motion had improved and I felt that my shoulder was loosening up. This is a great product for those who suffer periodically from shoulder impingement syndrome. Use it twice a day for a couple of weeks and you should see significant improvement.

I didn't want to continue my physical therapy, because I could do most of the exercises at the gym and save some money. I picked this up because I am not sure my gym has one. Aside from the fact that the PT place has it mounted high on the wall of a ceiling way higher than my house, this is the same one they have. All I have to do is sit in a lower chair and roll the handles around the rope a little so that I can get the same height from one side while lowering the other side to the height I am used to. It doesn't offer resistance, but that is not what this is used for. It is only for raising and lowering an arm that has had a shoulder injury. If you want resistance, there are products made specifically for that.

This shoulder pulley works better than the one I used in a physical therapy establishment. It is constructed of quality materials: solid wood handles, sturdy metal and tightly woven smooth rope. A sponge and rubberized cover are located where the pulley is placed over a door, protecting the door from scratches. The only "weak link?" in the assembly is the plastic roller over which the rope glides. But in fairness, the plastic looks pretty solid, and I can't envision how it could be easily cracked or broken. I've been using the pulley several times a week for four months, and have had no problems with it. I don't recall what country it was made in, but it has that "made in America" feeling that I miss in so many of my purchases these days. Tip: I'm a 5'4" female, and the rope was too long for me to use effectively. I simply wound the rope around one of the wooden handles until it was the right length for me. The rope hasn't slipped off the handle even once. I highly recommend this product. The price was right, the material and assembly is excellent. My shoulder loves it!

I bought this for post-shoulder recovery because it was one of the cheapest out there but had the features I needed. I went for the over the door design. This has good padding and will not damage the door. Even though I have 8' doors it was easy enough to get it on top of the door, and once there it stayed put unless I wanted to relocate it. The pulley action is smooth and the handles were long enough although I stood rather than sat, to do my exercises. The handle length was easy to adjust by changing the length of the rope.

These are exactly what I needed to continue my physical therapy at home. It's easy to slip over the top of the door, and has a solid fit...not too loose and not too tight. It's also easy to move and adjust. Once you shut the door, it stays in place. I pull pretty hard on one side since I use my "strong" arm to force my "weak" one to the position I need it to be in. So far, construction has proven to be solid, and has withstood my pressure.

I purchased this item for my mom. She had a major stroke and is unable to move her right side. This item allows her to exercise the paralyzed right arm. She can pull with her left hand and raise and lower the right arm. By properly securing the right hand to the handle, mom can do the rest. The pulley fits over our door and has a foam protector to prevent and scratches. Overall this is a very great item for anyone in need of exercise or physical therapy. You can adjust the rope length if needed.

After being involved in a serious motorcycle accident, where my shoulder was badly injured, my physical therapist started me using this same item in therapy. He recommended I purchase one for use at home. Through them the cost was $47. The exact same item through amazon was $10+. It works well helping to get my range of motion back.

Great product for the price! My physical therapist recommended getting a pulley system to use at home after recovering from rotator cuff surgery. I like having the over the door hangar. Many of the other products I looked at didn't have that even though they cost more. The rope is adjustable so it can be lengthened or shortened depending on how tall you are (or the door is) and whether you are sitting or standing.

Just had shoulder surgery and this was one exercise they wanted me to do at home from physical therapy. I bought this one since it had the wooden handles and the pulley looked like it was already attached to the metal piece that went over the door. Yes, all true. Bonus was that the length of the rope can be adjusted in length on one of the wooden handles. The wooden handle has an extra hole drilled through that allows for the adjustment. No knots to make or cutting the rope. Nice! This works great and I hope the use it for a long time! A+ item and seller.
