I have cooked with charcoal grills and propane grills, with Weber products and non-Weber products. I am currently living in an area where 'open-flame' grills are not permitted, so decided to see how a Weber's electric grill would work. It is GREAT! Follow the directions to let it warm up for 20 minutes before cooking and you will be good to go. Meat chars very well, tastes great. One outstanding quality of the grill is that it is more consistent in terms of heat produced than a flamed grill, so you can get your timing down literally to the minute for many things you grill repeatedly. Terrific product.

As I lifetime gas griller who was forced to buy an electric grill due to apartment regulations, I had low expectations going into this purchase. I expected low temperatures, zero grill marks, grey meat and long cooking times. I'm pleased to say that I couldn't have been more wrong. This grill is proving itself to be one of the best grills that I have ever owned, regardless of heat source. It gets super hot, sears the meat and imparts the same flavor that I've become used to on the high end propane gas grills that I'm accustomed to. The only "negative" that I can see is that it does take much longer to pre-heat. But once it achieves cooking temperature, It really does behave very similarly to any gas grill I've ever used. Disclaimer: Yes, you need to keep the lid closed. But even when you open it, the heat loss doesn't kill you. And besides; you should keep the lid closed anyway, cause "if you're lookin' you ain't cookin'"! Highly recommended.

So I would have never thought an electric grill would cook well or last long enough to justify expense. Well I have purchased several; as gifts, for home, for camp, for camper...etc. FANTASTIC!! I did install a temperature gauge on all of them as this is a very nice feature and needed (in my opinion) when cooking chicken, pork, fish, shrimp or steak. Have no idea why this is not a standard feature but an easy fix. Great no having to worry about charcoal or gas.

Excellent Quality and Exceptional cooking ability from an electric grill. Good bye propane! Wanted to grill on my second floor deck, just outside the kitchen and this was the answer. I was concerned weather it would heat up to high temperature enough to sear steak. Well all my worries are gone. This will sear any meat and then some. Key is to heat the grill 20 mins to 30 mins before use and cook with the lid down. Even when you lift up the grill lid it might lose 10 to 20 degrees or so, but after closing it goes back up rather quickly. I keep the temperature setting on max. I've hooked up a remote temperature gauge and when heated for 30 mins it can get up to 540 degrees. I have always preferred a steak on a cast iron pan. Not only does cast iron steak taste better, it keeps the grill clean. Guess what, I've been cooking my steaks in the cast iron pan inside this electric Weber. Just insert your cast iron at the start of heating and away you go. I'm truly pleased with this electric Grill and highly recommend it. Your getting a Weber, which is Quality and " It Works". I also recommend getting the Weber add on's: Q Mobile Cart, Q full cover, Q side shelves.

I usually don’t write reviews, however this grill is phenomenal. I always thought that electric equaled grey meat, not at all in this case. I am used to bbq’ing on gas or charcoal grill but recently moved to an apartment that doesn’t allow that. This is like cooking indirectly but directly without any flare ups. As others have said, take 20 minutes to preheat and you are ready to rock and roll. It does get pricey, I added the stand, light, cover, and trays on on the side. However well worth it.

A+++. Love this. No charcoal, no gas, just plug it in and start cooking. Only minimal assembly required. The other night my wife pre-seasoned four steaks. I put a hunk of hickory wood directly in one corner of the grill. I dropped the steaks on the grill and they were the best we've ever eaten. The only assembly required is lining up the top with the bottom and inserting two cotter pins. In addition the handle must be screwed in place. I followed somebody's else's review abd screwed in the handle first. Made life a little bit easier.

We recently moved to a high rise condo than bans propane and charcoal grilling on the veranda. The purchase of the Q 2400 felt like a forced/least preferable option to comply with fire and HOA regulations. Even reading the positive reviews, I was skeptical to say the least. After using the grill for two weeks, I have to reluctantly admit to being impressed. As other reviewers have stated, you need to allow 15-20 minutes for the grill to warm to cooking temperature. (Places it between charcoal and propane in terms of time period from ignition to grilling.) I found that the grill cooks evenly, and the end product tasted surprisingly good. You are able to get a decent char" on chicken, steaks, and veggies. The heat seems to be even at all points on the grill surface. And one feature I know is a plus - is not running out of propane in the middle of a grilling session. (Although I know propane and charcoal hold the advantage for cooking during power outages.) Construction is solid, including heavy porcelain coated cast iron grates that retain heat for searing. I purchased the Weber 6557 Q Portable Cart. I preferred this cart over the Webber 6525 Q Cart since the 6557 folds easily for storage if you have a grilling off season. The Q 2400 fits the bill nicely if you want to grill in a propane/charcoal free zone, and I would say even competes with propane for its ability to grill tasty meats and veggies. It has been a surprisingly good purchase. In summary, given the price, ease of use, quality, and grilling results,

Great design for an electric grill! This grill is rugged and easy to clean, and sets itself apart from every electric grill I've ever owned. It has the power to come up to temperature quickly and holds its heat very well. It has unique top and bottom inside aluminum reflectors that redirect heat to the grill instead of to the outside aluminum shell, improving warm-up speed and energy efficiency. Best of all, the drip tray slides out easily without a fight and the porcelain coated grill is much easier to clean than the traditional metal-only grills. My steaks even taste better! I highly recommend this electric grill, and right now, after many disappointments, it's the only one I would ever recommend.

I'm a pretty experienced BIg Green Egg and Weber charcoal griller. I have always wanted an electric grill for "no fire allowed" environments. This grill really comes close to charcoal performance when searing meat. As reviewed by others ....it does get very hot for the initial searing. I filled the grill surface with 12 boneless chicken breasts halves, Kicken Chicken seasoning after letting it heat up on max heat for 20 mins. Seared beautifully and continued for a total 25 min cook. It was great! This is headed to my airplane hangar to cook on weekends with fellow pilots ---where open flames are prohibited. I could not find an electric grill with better heat specs. This will leave a Foreman grill in the dust. Quality cast iron grates. Have not slow cooked on this yet.

I did a lot of research before I purchased this grill. Mainly because there were a lot of electric grills for a lot less money. Every review I read said that Weber was far and away better. I have to agree. Really gives BBQ grill quality with electric. On the downside it takes a long time to heat up - as much as 30 minutes but it takes that long for the heat coils to fully heat the grill which is what you need to create the grills marks on your food which is what I wanted. The upside is once you get used to timing your heat up time actual cooking time is a flash. We like steak medium rare 3 minutes a side and it's done. Burgers 2 minutes a side - grill marks and all. I'm very happy.
