700 less plastic bottles in the landfill and counting...
I purchased this item in mid August, but decided to wait to write the review to give me some evaluation time with the product. It is now Feb 1st and I have had it for 5 months. I love this system, it was easy to install and I was lucky that my faucet accepted the basic adapter. So far in the 5 months I have had it I have had zero problems with the system. I have not purchased a single bottle of water since I got it. I just put in the third filter, so I got 5 months out of the previous two filters. I live in the metro Houston area and the tap water smells and tastes awful here, but when I sniff the water from my PUR system I cannot discern a smell and the taste is better than the plastic infused taste from some bottled waters. I was buying at least 4 cases of bottled water and purchasing bulk water for cooking. Now that is not very expensive, but it still comes to about $25 a month, which in five months would have cost me $125 plus all the plastic bottles in the landfill since my apt complex does not have a recycling program. The PUR system cost me $35 and the replacement filters were $10 each. So for $55 the system paid for itself in about 2.5 months of use. Plus I just noticed that an Amazon supplier has replacement filters on sale for half priced if you buy six. I am so on that deal...lol. If I had one criticism of the system it is that the filter exchange indicator light will eventually stop working before the system stops working and I am expected to just keep track of when I install the filter so I know when to replace it. While that is not a deal breaker when the time comes I will have to decide whether to buy a new system or do a strict filter exchange every 2 months to avoid the possibility of drinking bad water. I think PUR should correct that.

They are all plastic.
Always have been. The stainless model comes with a metal faucet adapter. The other ones only have plastic. The plastic adapters wear out quickly, I had the whole fixture blow off the faucet. The metal adapter will last. I have used Pur for years. The quality has gone down over the years. The water is great. I keep chilled filtered water in bottles in the fridge. Can't beat it.

My go to point of use filter, last for years
My go to point of use filter. This is the 6th one I have purchased, 4th for my personal use. These last for a number of years, then the battery goes dead and you have no indicator to change the filter, but it will still dispense filtered water, you just have to use your sense of taste and smell to know when to change. People who say they leak or crack are either over tightening or installing wrong, the seal is by an internal o'ring not how tight it is screwed on.... Metallic finish holds up well but can be harmed by chemicals, such as oven cleaner. Shop around on the filters a bulk 6 pack brings the cost down quite a bit, and don't buy generic ones they will have a higher flow rate but that is because they do not filter the water as well.

No more bottled water for me
I always bought bottled water because I hated the taste and especially the after taste of regular tap water. I was buying over a case a month just to have water to drink. I bought this water filter to try and save me some money, but I was not sure how well it would do because I've tried water filters before and I was not impressed. This water filter does an amazing job and makes my tap water almost taste just bottled water. The water is refreshing and it eliminates all the negative features and negative taste of tap water. If your thinking of trying a water filter, this is the way to go. You won't be disappointed.

Best of the PUR line
This is the 3rd PUR faucet mount system I've owned in about 5yrs. The filters get HEAVY use and borderline criminal ABUSE from the jibronies in my house so they only last 1.5-2yrs before they start leaking. This particular model I've only had for 2wks so I can't attest to longevity but I WILL say the design is the best of the bunch. They others screw into the faucet directly so when you swivel the unit, you're tightening (or loosening) it's connection to the faucet itself. Not good. This one swivels AROUND a center nut that remains fixed to the faucet. VERY GOOD! Additional benefit: we have hard water here so in about a year, I can use the quick-release function on the mount, take the filter off entirely, and rinse out the plastic adapter that stays fixed to the faucet. Why does that matter? Because little particles of chuth start building up inside that area and it slows the flow of h2o to the filter unit itself. Eventually filtering becomes slower and/or water leaks out of the connection point at the faucet tip. Problem no more!!

Tap water tastes like Voss!
I moved into an apartment with a refrigerator that didn't have a water/ice dispenser, and I figured I would save some money and just buy this water filter instead of a bunch of water bottles (which also take up fridge space). We've been using it for about 2 months now and it works perfectly. The natural minerals in the filter give you a crisp and fresh drink, and it is truly effective at removing the tastes of city water. Seriously, I've drunk quite a bit of Voss water over the years and this thing makes my plain tap water as tasteless and fresh as all of those fancy water brands. The little switch to turn the filter on and off is hugely convenient: you don't have to worry about wasting the life of the filter when you're just trying to fill up a pot to boil some spaghetti. The filters are super easy to access and change, and the filter that came with it has lasted us for 2 months so far and the light is still green. My favorite feature is that it detaches from the faucet pretty much instantly. There's little white buttons on each side that you press, and the filter part detaches from the faucet with ease. Great for getting it out of the way when you're doing dishes. This thing also comes with several different adapters so it can fit on just about any sink. Overall, this did exactly what I wanted and did a phenomenal job of it.

Great filter system and easy to install
Easy to install. All I had to do was screw the adapter on my faucet, put the filter in the system (also easy, just stick it in) and plug it into the adapter and I had a working filter system. At first I was very hesitant on buying this particular one because several of the reviews said that it leaked. Well low and behold mine was leaking. I read back over the troubleshooting and it said to make sure the old washer was taken out of the faucet. I knew I took the old one out but I went ahead and looked again and there was two old ones. So I took it out and screwed the adapter back in and it screwed it nice and tight this time. Turned the water on and there was no leak. So the ones who were having problems with it leaking must have not taken the old washers out or not put the new ones with the adapter. The water tastes good. With the flip of the switch the water starts being filtered and coming through the side of the filter system. The light will blink when you first turn on the switch. Green for the filter is good. Yellow for need to change filter soon and red for the filter needs changed. Love that it lets you know when it needs changed. The filters are not real expensive either so this will definitely save you money on bottled water. I included pictures showing of the system itself, with it just running regular water and with it filtering the water and showing the green light that will blink when first turning the switch on.

Great filter faucet with no leaks
Very easy to install. So very easy to switch between filter and non filtered water. I did watch the video on the Pur website first to see how it is installed and was sure on how to put the water filter in the device.

Beats Brita hands down
I have the worst water on the planet. During drought the water runs brown. When it's not brown, it's so chlorinated it's like swallowing water from a pool. I broke down and bought this and couldn't be happier. I previously tried Brita but that was a tedious, complicated process. Pur was literally a snap (and click) into place. Before I started using this I got yearly checkups for my kidneys and they would be abnormal. After using this for a few months, my tests came back as normal. I live in an area with old pipes on the outside and inside of house. I'm guessing the lead is high. Plus the town's reservoir is near the highway, so it gets run off from winter salt and grime. If you want an easy way to get clean water, buy Pur. It dispenses the cleanest water I've ever tasted. That is, there is no taste; a sign of clean water. Keep in mind the indicator light goes kaput after three years and is not replaceable. But for the price you pay, it's still worth it for your health. They should ship these to every house in lead contaminated cities. Much cheaper than government solutions. For those who need non-rust-colored water and don't yet have Pur, run hot water into a large container and refrigerate overnight. Hot water heaters have built-in filters to prevent clogging.

Wish I had bought one years ago
I did a lot of research before going with the PUR advanced faucet, and I although I was frustrated that it wasn't working at first, I am now so happy with my choice I kick myself for not getting one sooner. I had a Brita pitcher that just wasn't cutting it, thus making me buy bottled water and I wanted to put an end to that. Now I fill up several pitchers to put in my fridge and always have cold filtered drinking water (I live in FL where even the coldest tap setting gives room temp water in the summer). Putting it on seemed easy but we went through several of the settings and it kept on falling off when we turned on the tap from the pressure, but luckily before giving up realized the old 'washer' was still stuck inside. Once removed we found the appropriate setting (amazing they come with several choices of attachments for all varieties of faucets) and voila, I have peace of mind to drink from the tap now, no more buying bottles. The filter lasts super long I have had this for a couple months and it is good to go (green light indicator).
