I recently left my car in an unheated Minnesota garage for 4 months during one of the coldest fall/winter months (November - February) of the last 20 years. It was still -5 when I started the car - vroom, flawless. It’s a charger that lives up to its claims of being a polar charger. Well worth a few extra dollars.

This charge is awesome. It kept the battery on my tractor topped off and warm all winter. I live in Maine and during past winters once or twice a week I would have to jump start the tractor due to the cold weather, and i would have to replace the battery every year. Once I installed this charger I haven't had any issues and the batter is just like new. i really like the Quick disconnect which I have wired to the tractor.

I own a couple other CTEK chargers that I have had great results with as battery chargers but found the cords to be somewhat of a challenge when Michigan winter rolls around. The normal cords are fine where it's warmer but loose flexibility at the temperatures drop. On the Polar charger, the cords still work great even with temps around 0 F. That this charger is more powerful and charges quicker than the other CTEKS I own is just a bonus.

Love the complete tests and charging capabilities of this device. I use a 36Ah battery for camping and this CTEK MUS 4.3 Polar does the trick. The cold weather model does indeed have flexible cables which stay flexible - they feel like 8mm plug wires. I've used it in 5 degree F weather with ease. CTEK recommends 20Ah as a line of delineation between small battery charge rate and larger ones, so I use the car (large) setting. Also, can choose between standard lead-acid and AGMrates, mine being AGM. Great.

I agree with all other 5 star reviewers. Little note that makes no difference, when reconditioning mode is used, depending on the car you drive, in my case BMW sedan, the computer does not understand the battery charge drop and may shut off some of the electronics like gps tracker plugged in the obd2 port (if you have one) granted that most people may not have one. It may also shut off other components that may be on stand by. It seems to me it does not cause any harm but you be the judge of it depending on the kind of gadget you may believe you need on 24/7.

I live in an area of average 20°F temp. in the winter and dropping to -10F intermittently for 2-3 days. This maintainer/charger is used for the duel batteries of the coach (not engine) for my application. I have 1 charger for both batteries and connect + on 1 battery, and - to the second battery. This is and OUTSTANDING UNIT. I purchased the CTEC extention cable and mounted my CTECH in a favorable location. I ran the extension cable to the battery utilizing the "O" connectors provided on the battery screw terminals. Pleas read the factory specifications to this charger...I won't go into details. BUT THIS IS AN OUTSTANDING charger/maintainer, requiring very little power after it automatically switches to maintenance mode. As most RV owners we have bought them all...none of them compare in size, ability to mount to chasis, and just plain easy to install as this one. Now for its intended purpose....it has been hooked up since early October and never threw my breaker hooked into a 110v outside receptical on a GFI circuit. It went automatically through each stage and has been on maintenance thereafter, keeping my battery monitored. Never has it shut down, I check it often for peace of mind....it just works !!! And it works well....BUY WITH CONFIDENCE.

The charger functions well. I particularly like the option of being able to choose whether or not to use the "RECOND" charging program in the overall charging cycle. The CTEK POLAR functioned properly when charging either my AGM or lead acid batteries. However, note that the jaws of the supplied COMFORT CONNECT clamp may not open wide enough for your application. That was the case in my attempt to connect to the positive terminal on my 2018 Nissan Frontier...close...but no cigar. I instead opted to "permanently" install the supplied COMFORT CONNECT eyelets to the battery terminals and be done with it. That leaves me with the option of still using the supplied alligator clamps on all my other batteries. Overall, a reliable charger...with possible limited application for some. Rating: 4.5 stars.

Great charger. Will bring up fully flat agm batteries that very few chargers even recognize and most indicate as being faulty. Low temp operation is great. Also, it is waterproof, which will be great in snow and ice. Update: Have been using this charger for a few years now. Batteries are all still going strong vs used to have to replace every 2-3 years. Pays for itself in battery change savings. Sits on car all winter long and battery is good as new in spring. I did destroy one when I dropped it, so I've since purchased the bumper accessory to protect them.

Love this thing. Hook it up and relax. It will take care of everything. I have a lighter adapter hardwired to the battery in my trunk and plug in there. Works great in even subzero garage Temps for me. Nice having the lights to tell what it is doing at the moment too. Jay Leno was right on this one.

I got this charge because I loved how well my other CTEK worked on my other optima red top battery. I use this one between two cars that I keep outside because it is weather rated. One has a optima red top the other an Interstate. I don't drive them during the winter months and now I don't have to go out to start them up that often any more. That will save me on that non ethanol gas prices. I will probably get another on so I don't have to switch it between the two.
