Used it for the first time last night. For all those who are wondering it works just fine on my Stihl Kombi km90r power head. There's so much mixed information on compatibly online. I just went for it and it works fine no modification necessary!

This is a nice attachment that really cuts through shrubs quickly. I will mention that it feels a little unsafe to start and use this attachment (perhaps this would be less of an issue with the electric starter attachment). It also takes more strength to use than e.g. electric hedge clippers; it's relatively heavy and somewhat unwieldy. (Using the handle strap helps.) The head, of course, is not covered, and because the cutter mechanism puts enough of a drag on the engine, it wants to stall unless you juice it a little. It's difficult to lay it down and start it, in most environments where you'd want to use it. (You don't have a table available, typically.) All that said, this makes short work of long hedge rows, and I can reach the areas on my camellia that I couldn't before.

Based on all the reviews of this failing with broken gears I almost did not buy it. But then I noticed most of those bad reviews were from 2014 and all the more recent reviews were great. So I took a chance and bought it as the price was so much less than other similar products. Ran it for about 4 hours today and I love it so far. I liked it up good like the directions state. Even dribbled oil down the slot into the gear case while I ran it slowly. I like how it easily adjusts. Grab the pivot handle, push out on the pin, and it easily sets to any of the positions. I worked it pretty hard. The gear case gets hot. But it worked great with my ruining expand it 2 cycle power head. As other reviewers noted it gets heavy. It is. But I doubt if I held the trimmer in my right hand and then put my left hand on the shaft in front of the handle I could move it up and down quite nicely. It's cuts beautifully. And the long bar is great at saving time. So far I'm quite pleased. Hopefully I will not have the problems others have had with broken gears.

I have been using a Black+Decker electric hedger for years (and still do for smaller jobs), yet have always wanted an hedger attachment for my Husky, but did not want to pay the Husky price. Picked this up recently for the variegated privets that seemingly grow as fast as South Alabama Kudzu, and because when cutting the privets, an electrical cord is constantly in the way. Cutting the cord in two is also a fun experience... Initial attachment to my 128LD oriented the hedger perpendicular to the ground. Not really a problem, however not to my liking. Therefore as other reviewers have noted, I engineered (read, rotated 90º) the attachment locking mechanism to fit my personal preference. That is really no big deal, and certainly not worthy of 1 fewer star ranking. After all, there is absolutely no way one attachment is going to fit every available trimmer and meet everyone's personal preferences. I put this thing to the test immediately and it passed with flying colors. Now, it is quite a bit heavier than using my electric hedger, but with twice the blade length and the ability to chew through much thicker foliage, it has become my go to hedger due to speed and portability. Like most of my reviews; if this ever fails, I will come back and update accordingly.

Fits a Ryobi trimmer purchased at the orange home store. It's heavy, but cuts through the thickest shrub branches. Great for hard to reach areas and tall shrubs.

I bought this Hedge Trimmer because I was getting tired of my electric one and running the extension wire all the time, plus it was small. I had to make several passes to cut all the extension evenly. One thing I liked about the electric trimmer is that it is light and easy to maneuver. But that electric extension wire was a pain to unwind and wind back again. I even cut a small extension that I used to use because of the end connection was round and made it easier to connect to the trimmer until I cut it one day trimmer the side of the hedges. I have not used the new trimmer yet, but read a lot of reviews before I bought it and it seams very versatile. Being 22" long and attach to my gas power edger should be fast. I am giving it three stars for now for the fast delivery and great price. I will re-post when I get around trimming the hedges again, maybe soon, like tomorrow and if things work great, I will be changing the stars and my view on the trimmer. One week later after I received the Hedge Trimmer, I was able to use the it and I am very pleased and impressed with it's ease of use. I was able to trim my hedges within 30 to 45 minutes. It use to take me house with the electric trimmer I still have. I was able to use it straight and without changing the angle of the hedge trimmer as my hedges are about lower chest high. I also kept the it straight for trimmer the front and back. It was very easy to change attachments and I had no issues what so ever at first connection. I oil it before and after usage as per instructions. I do recommend this Hedge Trimmer because of it's easy connection and ease of use. Lets see if it stands the test of time.

I should have bought this sooner. For years I have been using an electric trimmer to trim an arborvitae hedge. It's always been a chore and as a result usually only gets done about every two years. This time it's been three years and the hedge is a mess. I am using this on a Ryobi 25cc 2-cycle trimmer, plenty of power to operate the hedge trimmer. One thing that I have seen mentioned multiple times is that the hedge trimmer attachment should the able to rotate so that the engine is always correctly oriented. This is not a fault of the attachment. If you can't position the attachment in multiple orientations on your trimmer click-lock then that is a problem with the trimmer not the attachment. My Ryobi has 4 different click-lock positions (each 90deg apart) so I can properly orient the attachment and keep the trimmer properly oriented. Easily cuts thru 1/4" and smaller branches and twigs. 3/8" is handled ok but more than that simply won't fit thru the "teeth" of the trimmer. I would suspect that my Ryobi could easily cut thru 1/2". On my overgrown hedge it has cut thru 90% of the material and the larger ones that the trimmer won't cut I simply cut with a handheld lopper cutter. On of the secrets to getting max life is to keep the cutting blades lubricated. Spray them with your favorite spray lubricant before use, every time you refuel and when you are done.

If you make two narrow skits along shaft with dremel tool, it works great with Echo PAS. Also, a small hole drilled for locator pin. 5 minute fix if you have a Dremel or angle grinder

I've been using an Electric Hedge Trimmer for many years. I have a very inexpensive Homelite trimmer that takes these types of attachments. Initial reason for purchasing was to be cord free - no more winding and unwinding a 100 ft extension cord. I got this attachment a few days ago, and my initial impression is that I should have bought one a long time ago. The angles that you can set the trimmer blade to, and the greater reach that this attachment affords are huge advantages over the hand-held electric model that I'd been using. I probably have the weakest gasoline-powered trimmer head on the market. Even with my underpowered trimmer head, this attachment still covers more area and can handle slightly thicker branches, while being more balanced than the old electric hedger I had been using.

This absolutely fits the Stihl kombi shafts with no issues. This should be a main description but may be a copywrite issue to mention it. I just trimmed with it on heavy brush. Just be sure to lube it.
