A Very Nice Measuring Cup Set

One of our sets of measuring cups was made of graphite resin. After many years the 1 cup handle snapped off. So I went looking for a replacement. I am very pleased to say I found a better set! These are excellent measuring cups, accurate and proportional. Each measure is one piece of stainless steel with absolutely no seams or crevasses that are hard to clean. The rim is even and a leveling knife slides smoothly across each measure. The rim is only slightly flared, not rolled, which makes the measure work better and be very easy to clean. The handles are wide, not long, and easy to grip between thumb and forefinger and middle finger of either hand. The shorter handles make them easy to get into and out of a bag or box of flour, sugar, or corn starch. A wonderful feature is that they stack squarely either right-side up or down, preventing the handle from getting stuck in the drawer as you attempt to open it! The markings are clear, and easy to read under most light, though they can disappear in glare or reflections at certain angles. The "extra" 3/4 cup (180 ml) is very convenient. I tested each cup for volume as follows: Using a digital scale accurate to 1/8 oz I placed each measure on the center of the scale and adjusted the tare weight to zero (net). I then added room temperature water to full using an eye dropper to ensure a complete fill. The contents of each cup weighed 1/8 oz above the expected weight. Note that this is the accuracy of the scale. Also note that the method of filling ensures that the water "domes" above the cup. Also, I am pretty much at sea level, 70 degrees, and average air pressure. Just to be certain I tested other cups from different manufacturers that I have used many times and discovered they all measured this same way. (The weight of water at sea level is one pint (volume) = one pound (weight).) The only thing that would make this set better is if they included an 1/8 cup measure (2 oz) that stacked right in. This is a standard coffee measure, but I have found it very useful when making recipes for just two people. For example, a two-cookie chocolate chip recipe I make requires 1/8 cup of sugar, and it is easier to measure in one scoop than multiple table spoons.

Worth Every Penny

After trying and discarding several sets of measuring cups, these fit all my needs/wants. They nest and actually fit into a standard height drawer. The handles have a very good feel - the little thumb depression on the top with the corresponding bump underneath gives you a good sturdy grip. And since the cups and handles are all one piece, no rivets to worry about (to come loose or collect icky stuff). The top edges of the cups are just slightly curved out, making it easy to level your measurements. And those edges are smooth, no burrs, no little questionable places. These are the best measuring cups I have ever owned.

Durable, great finish, great quality at discount price.

I purchased this set of measuring cups based on price (not the cheapest) & what I perceived was a good value based on pics and previous reviews. However I was still skeptical. Until I received my measuring cups. I was impressed with the weight before I even opened the box. Cheaper low quality M-cups are made from thinner metal & softer metals and/or the handles are tack welded and eventually break. These are made from stainless steel, the handles are the cup come from one mold, and they even stack beautifully because of the small nipple in the front. I've used them and ran them through the wash. I'm very impressed and highly recommend these M-Cups.

Perfect for the person who loves to cook & bake

A quality product - kudos to the manufacturer (although they come from an USA registered company, I wonder what country these are manufactured in). I received these measuring cups about 2 weeks ago and have used them multiple times already. They have a great feel to them: the handles make them easy to use and are clearly marked so I don't need my reading glasses to read the size and the weight of the product is perfect giving them a high quality feel and the impression that they are going to last me forever. They also "nest" in the kitchen drawer perfectly so they are always ready to use at a moments notice vs looking through the drawer to find the right size. Quality product with a perfectly reasonable price tag. I would buy more Bellemain products.

These measuring cups are the answer to every issue or problem I've had before with typical measuring cups

I recently was diagnosed with Celiac setting off the need to cook and bake like a demented fiend. All the little irritations come home to roost when you're not cooking for fun. Light, inaccurate, poorly marked measuring cups are a pain and an irritation. These measuring cups are great. They're heavy enough to be easily dealt with and not knock over, assisted by that fabulous flat bottom. The measurements are etched into the metal (or stamped in) to a depth that means you won't be losing the markings. I love the fact that there are 3rd's in the set - why manufacturers think no recipes call for measurements in 3rd's is beyond me, but they're in this set, thank heavens. I just love the heft of them - they're so much easier to handle and easier to clean (dishwasher safe) and again, sit flat with no wobble. The little chain that holds them together is impractical for actual use but terrific for storage. I don't find it a big deal to remove and replace when I use them, but it's certainly not necessary to stay attached. These are so nice I think they'd make great gifts. I'm really, really happy with this purchase. Hope to have these forever.

I really like these measuring cups

I really like these measuring cups. They have a 2/3 and 3/4th cup sized cups included with the sets. While it is easy to arrive at these measurements without those particular cups, they really do save time. They stack nicely and take up minimal space in the cupboard. These cups are also very well made.

Do they get any better than this?

I agree with the other reviewers who say these are the best measuring cups I have ever had. In my experience, they don't get any better than this! It's a complete set of 6, where normally you only get 4 (5 at most). They are heavy and seem indestructible! They nest extremely well, so take up very little space in your cupboard or drawer. They are very pretty stainless steel construction. The handles are attached to the cup and seem extremely strong, so I don't worry about them breaking off. The cups are marked according to the measure. They came in a nice little box, each were wrapped individually. Some products today are worth their value & price. This is one of those products. The price is a great value for what you are getting, which is wonderful. You will never be sorry you made this purchase.

Very durable, single piece construction, stainless so no worries about rust

I love that these are stainless and are single piece construction, meaning that they won't rust and the handles won't snap off like so many others do. I've been through several sets of stainless steel measuring cups but because they were two piece construction, the handles would always snap off and render them useless. That will not happen with these! I'm not sure I'm super fond of the extra tab on the front (the side opposite the handle) as it seems to make it a touch on the clunky side (not as easy to maneuver), but I am certain that they will hold up and be functional for years to come, thankfully! It is nice that there are extra measuring cups in the set as well, it comes with 1/4,1/3,1/2,2/3,3/4 and 1 cup measuring cups and they nest really well so that they don't take up a lot of space. They also have a hole in the handle so that they can be hung on a hook.

Lots of sizes, stable and weighty, recommend

The https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GSXFKYY/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_15 are sturdy and feel well made. I hand wash (I don't have a dishwasher at present) so I removed the chain before using and washing but use the chain for hanging up. They have lots of ridges so you may need to hand dry before storing or displaying. And these look nice so I display them next to the spices on the wall. One stays on my popcorn container as it is the measure for my servings. I really like that they are stable, which is why thy are heavy for their size. I look forward to using these for my dry measurements for years and years. Oh, and I am not a baker, so I don't use these too often. Highly recommended.

Heavy duty measuring cups

I have been looking for measuring cups like these for a long time. My sister and I are both big time bakers and we are always looking for new measuring cups because the other brands (especially plastic) just don't work as well when you are baking large 4+ tier wedding cakes. These have been great for any ingredients because they don't bend out of shape or snap/break. They are very heavy duty, durable, and easy to wash. I highly recommend them for any and all of your baking needs!
