My kids loved it and I liked that their heads were up ...
Used on a 10 hour road trip each way in a Volkswagen Passat. As the driver with the bar attached to my headrest, I didn't notice or feel the bar at all nor did I mind the change in headrest height of a little over an inch. I used a Samsung Tab S tablet, so a bigger tablet and I could still see out the back using the rear view mirror with no problems. My kids loved it and I liked that their heads were up as opposed to down when we put the tablet just on the arm rest. The only slight negative is getting use to turning around to help the kids and hitting the bar with you head - my wife found that more than I did and you just need to get used to it there. Also, depending on the cover attached to the tablet, you may need to take it off to get a secure fit for the tablet, ours had a little issue with this but we just leaned the tablet back a bit in the mount and we could leave the cover on without tablet falling out of the mount. There were plenty of attachment sizes to fit various tablets included. Easy on and off and not a problem to just leave on even when not using the tablet. So far, so good and I would recommend to anyone.

Perfect to hold an Ipad and kids watch tv in the back.
I had a dual dvd player that stopped working and twins. We traveled a great deal by car last year and needed a way to show a few movies. After a lot of searching and review reading, I purchased this. I am 100% satisfied and love this so much that I don't even take it off anymore. I was able to extend my ipad away from the driver's seat (honda odyssey) and set it right in the middle of the two captain's chairs so both of my kids could watch the movie. The clamps were large enough to hold my ipad securely. What we did for anyone who is in the same boat is the following. We used our wireless speaker and had it synched with the ipad and put it by the kids' seats so we did have to hear it up in the front. In addition, we put our netflix app on our ipad and downloaded alot of things that were elgible for download right to the ipad. That way when we turn on the ipad its just a matter of opening the app and finding the downloaded movies and choosing one to watch. By doing it this way we didn't eat up any data because the movie is saved on the ipad. The biggest thing to remember is to keep the ipad charged. As I said before this was awesome for us. It was easy to install, you can extend it and adjust it to the length you need.

Very convenient for long trips
I thought this would be a great way to provide distraction during long trips for the kids without committing to a permanent DVD player installed in the car. We do not want to use it daily - Only if in the car for 6+ hours. This worked perfectly for this purpose, and it was adjustable in many ways to fit with different car sizes, seating arrangements, etc. Very easy to put together. It might be too flimsy for daily use, but it is perfect for us! The only complaint is that the speaker of the ipad is right in our ear while kids are watching a movie, so we are planning on getting a bluetooth speaker that can sit in between the kids.

Good option for sharing a tablet with two kids
After trying several different impromptu methods for setting up a single iPad so that two kids could watch a movie on a long drive, I finally broke down and bought this. Given the limitations of car interiors, it seems like a good solution that will work with most / all cars. It is a bit weird to install and fit the first time, but once you see how the pieces work and adjust, it's a simple process to install or remove. It is fairly light weight construction, so I'm not sure how it will hold up over several years or potential roughness from the kids, but the design seems sound and I was able to adjust it and tighten everything down so that the iPad was very secure, didn't shake, and didn't tilt. What is very nice is that it's easy enough to install and remove that I don't feel the need to keep it in the car. I plan on only installing it when I know we have long road trips more than an hour or two. The rest of the time I just store it in a cabinet in the house. UPDATE January 1, 2016: I've used the mount 4 or 5 times over the last 6 months. It's extremely easy to install for a road trip--it takes less than 15 seconds for me to put it on my driver seat, and my kids now know how to pop in an iPad and get it setup. I am able to run a charging cable to the iPad so that it stays charged during the drive. The mount is still very sturdy and doesn't move or slip at all. The iPad stays perfectly positioned. We just got back from Lake Tahoe, which required over 18 hours of driving round trip. The mount worked great and my kids were able to watch several movies during the drive. When we get home, it only takes 10 seconds to loosen the knobs and remove the mount. Very well designed product.

Purchasing one for my mom 😉
Love this mount!!!! And so do my Passanger’s! Initially I bought it just for the kids, but.... I didn’t want to continue to uninstall it every time I went to drive for Uber and LYFT in my car. Now it’s just a great addition to my riders experience. Where I live there are a lot of extremely bumpy roads this works fantastic and does not budge. Had to tighten it up again a few times but it was expected. Problem I had initially with install was the fact that there are tiny little stoppers for the ends of the feet where the iPad or tablet sits.. and it’s the only thing that holds the feet in place. I can see that it may get lost after a bit of use as they aren’t very secure when you put the little bits into it. I’ll take more photos of that when I can. But LOVE that it comes with multiple feet so you can change the size of tablet at any point, instead of something that “clamps the tablet and could damage it. I took a long charger as well as aux cord and is hooked up to the car stereo. My passengers are happy that they can choose their own music and so am I!!

I'm an engineer and I am very often annoyed by poorly designed things/devices
Full disclosure: I'm an engineer and I am very often annoyed by poorly designed things/devices. This tablet holder is so well designed that it was an absolute pleasure to install and use. The assembly is so incredibly intuitive and the design is so versatile that I could see this fitting just about any size tablet that you can throw at it. It has so many adjustments that make it work splendidly. Perfect!! I'm so impressed with this purchase! What value! Kudos to the designer!

Perfect for road trips.
This does exactly what it is supposed to do and we had no problems on a 15 hour road trip. It held the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini very securely with no vibration or moving. It was easy for me to adjust while driving, and I was able to pop the iPad out and change movies at toll booth stops super quickly. The ability to rotate and changes angles is wonderful. I'm not sure why some people think it won't fit the iPad mini. Apparently they cannot think abstractly. You have to put the mini in the holder in the portrait position and then rotate to landscape. Easy peasy. This holder is much better than any others I have purchased in the past.

Works in a Subaru Outback
I had done a fair amount of research before settling on this. I use it with an Amazon Fire and it works great. Holds itself in place tightly and securely. It has been a life saver. I do wish that it was able to do a 180 swivel that enabled the people in the front to make changes (i.e. pick a different movie) but it comes in and out of the spring loaded grips just fine and slides back into place easily. I can't imagine much better than this for what I need it for. For frame of reference I am driving a 2017 Subaru Outback.

LOVE this product
LOVE this product! We downloaded movies to our ipad and used this so our kids could watch them on our ten our trip from UT to CA. It was easy to assemble and adjust after attached. The whole ten hour trip there and the ten hour trip back it worked flawlessly. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting to save money on expensive and often unreliable car dvd-players!! This worked way better than any dvd player we've tried to use in the car before!

Mounts easily, seems solid
We take occasional 6 hour car trips and we've been propping the iPad up in any way we can to get it to work. While on one of these trips, I searched for a different solution and found this iPad mount. We haven't taken a trip yet, but the setup of this arm seemed to be very simple. It attaches to the headrest very easily and seems like a sturdy connection. It definitely puts the iPad in a place where the kids can see it. One reviewer said that they liked how the iPad could swivel around to the front so they could see it to put videos on. I didn't really find an "easy" way to do this other than tilt it a little toward the passenger seat. There is the ability to rotate the iPad on the arm, but it requires loosening the connection and then needing to reposition it to get it back where it was. Not a big deal, as the iPad could even easily be taken out of the mount and then put back in. This is definitely not a big deal. I'm expecting our next trips to be much better with this mount. If I have any other feedback once we actually road-test it, I'll update this review.
