but it was by no means over powering and was pretty much gone in an hour or so

I got this product so i would be able to set a carpet on top of another carpet without any glues or tapes messing up the original carpet. Product came as described, 27"x10'. There was a very slight plastic/chemical smell, but it was by no means over powering and was pretty much gone in an hour or so. Anyhoo, i have a 3'x13' hallway with light carpet, and i got a a section of darker carpet from a bigbox store. getting a section of carpet and cutting to size is much cheaper than going out and buying a runner. Unfortunately laying a carpet or runner on top of another carpet lets the top carpet slide around. I tried a few rubber pads to no avail. I did not want to use any adhesives so as to not destroy the light colored bottom carpet. Now the fun part. I DUCT TAPED the plastic runner to the under-side of the new top carpet. The smooth part of the plastic runner was taped to the bottom of the dark carpet which now had the effect of the the darker carpet having TEETH, to hold onto the light colored original carpet. This has completely stopped the top carpet from sliding even a fraction of an inch. This is PERFECT. Since the runner is plastic, it has the added advantage of protecting the light colored original carpet from spills and pet accidents, because anything that soaks thru the top carpet gets trapped by the plastic runner. The plastic runner is decently thick, doesnt feel like its cheap, doesnt feel like it will tear. Its not a stiff plastic, its quite pliable and "soft". The teeth are long enough to bite into the bottom carpet. The plastic runner does cut quite easily if you need to size it. While the plastic works great for my use, i dont think it is thick enough to be under a rolling chair. 5 stars for being decently thick, pliable, not stinky and having decent sized teeth.

GREAT cat deterrent!

I bought this to cut into short strips and lay across furniture (couch backs, dining chairs, kitchen counters) that I want my cat to stay off of. WORKS. No harm done to furniture or kitty. Awesome!

NO Perforations, one long one-piece heavy duty, quality runner! Great value and quality!

I've walked out of the local home improvement stores when I saw their poor quality runners. Theirs have tiny perforations every 12 inches or so. Nice I guess If you are selling the product, but not so good if you are buying it. The perforations tend to rip easily after you walk on the runner after a short time. NO PERFORATIONS on this runner! Love it, all one long length and heavy duty and thick. It laid quite flat right out of the box and onto my carpet. I was happy to finally found the quality runner I was searching for, right here on Amazon as always. The ribs are a nice length and grab onto my carpet with no moving at all. Great quality and value product. If you are searching for the best vinyl runner for your carpet, THIS IS IT!

Great for pets!

We use this to keep pets of furniture. It's just long enough to be cut in half and fit our L shaped couch. I had to unstuff and unzip EVERYTHING to was out all the dog grease from our couch. It took all day. We put these on and haven't even seen the dogs or cats try to get onto the couch.

Very good runners 👍

This brand of Runners is great. Hands down the best I've ever used. We have a lot of traffic where I live. My roommate has a lot of company and the carpets need to have these runners in certain areas. They work very well, in fact they've been a godsend. I'm not trying to be dramatic here but I had become so tired of shampooing our carpets😰 These really do the job well. They stay in place and they're easy to clean. I just run the mop over the top of them if they need cleaning. Two thumbs up 👍👍

Wish I'd gotten this sooner.

This is doing a lot to save our carpet. We have 2 small dogs who like to piddle on the rug right by the front door even though they have puppy pads down. (Our Chihuahuas are not a fan of snow and cold). That area is also a high-traffic area which doesn't help things at all. After cleaning the rug (again!), I put this carpet runner down and I've never been happier. The little stinkers are peeing where they're supposed to and the carpet isn't getting dirty constantly from all the foot traffic. The area where I put the runner has a doorway and I was surprised at how easy it was to cut notches in the runner with regular scissors to accommodate the doorway. The runner also stays in place and doesn't slide or shift. The 36 inch width was perfect and I only had to trim off a little bit of excess.

A great product

I needed to cover my kitchen carpeting (it is kitchen carpeting) to help prevent spills on the carpet. I wanted something easy to use, easy to install, but most of all be functional. Well this is all three. It has little tips that hold to the carpet with out damage. See through, so my carpet still shows, but much, much easier to clean and care for. I don't like tile and kitchen carpeting is much quieter and safe. If you drop something and I do all the time, most times there is no damage to the fallen object or to the mat. I bought these from Amazon warehouse for less and I am super pleased.

Another dog owner checking in. I needed a way to keep my dog from destroying my couch when I left for work. I've been using it for about 6 months now, and it still has a 100% success rate. My dog has not gone on the couch at all. He doesn't even try to take the throw pillows off it. He doesn't want anything to do with this thing. All I had to do was cut it to size with a pair of scissors. Now I leave it on my couch, spike side up, everyday before work. When I get home, I roll it back up and store it under the couch. As a sidenote, I think it would work well for its intended purpose as well.

Great product and price!

I was able to cut the mat for my needs and satisfied 3 issues. This works well under our copy machine to catch loose toner from falling onto new carpeting. I also cut it to place under office paper shredder to catch any oil that might drip from the machine and I placed a narrow band of it on top of my desk to seal the gap between desk and wall. I was tired of small things falling in between the gap and not being able to get to it.

CAN'T BEAT THE QUALITY AND PRICE

Thick, stay put runner. This mat is very sturdy and has excellent gripping power. I had some left, so I cut two squares to use on my carpet under my desk chair.
