I am 30 years into using "white" boards and this one tops them all. The glass and frosting is what I would call "light banker green" like the old school color of paper ledgers. My board hangs over a light grayish blue wall and a oak chair rail it looks great. I agree with all of the positive comments. For installing: Clean the back of the board! 1. Use one of the loose cardboard sheet to make a template. The glass is not fragile it can bounce and flex with no issues. Lay the cardboard flat on the floor and tilt the board onto it. Use one person on each side but tilt (leave one edge on the floor) it down until it rests on the cardboard. 2. Take the metal stand off brackets and unscrew them, place them through the glass onto the cardboard (this opposite of how they will go on the wall), put the screws through the standoff (which passes through the glass) into the cardboard being careful to put them straight through. this leaves a mark for the center of the hole. Also mark the inside diameter of the whole with a fine tip marker just in case you don't get the screws centered just right. 3. Now cut the cardboard away from the perimeter of the glass using a sharp knife. The screws will keep the glass and cardboard from sliding apart. Keep the knife tight against the edge of the glass and use several shallow cuts instead of one deep one. 4. Reverse the above. You will now have an exact template with targets for the wall anchors. 5. Hang the template. I used painters tape to fix the template to the wall and them used a small drill bit to make holes in the drywall through he cardboard template. 6. Insert wall anchors. I upgraded to a metal screw in type (no drill). 7. Fasten standoffs leaving the screws a few turns loose (good advice found above) 8. Place board over standoffs and support it until you finish tightening the stand off screws 9. screw in caps to stand offs. The standoffs have some slop. By leaving the wall anchor screws a little loose you will have even more play. Plus the glass is surprising flexible and resilient. So even though the fit is precise the above steps make it much easier. Took me and one person 30 minutes after unboxing and cleaning.

We love the look of this white board. We hung it in our kitchen so we use it for magnets and write things down. Pros: 1. Look awesome 2. Good size, holds a lot of magnets while plenty of writing room 3. Erases super easy without leaving a residue 4. Modern look 5. Once hung, it’s very stable and sturdy 6. Love the look Negatives: 1. It was pretty hard to hang. The competitors came with a template so I created a template out of of cardboard box which made it super easy to match the holes. However the screws are very cheap and very likely to strip 2. It requires special super magnets. So all of our old magnets did not work and I had to buy new ones Overall the look and function is great and. I highly recommend it

I ordered the Quartet Glass Whiteboard in Black. It's packaged very securely and arrived in pristine condition with the exception of a minor dent in the accessory tray (too small to be of concern to me). Although the box had a small tear on it, the board was undamaged. In my experience, most whiteboards either take ink well but are difficult to erase, or erase easily but fail to display ink vividly. Not an issue here! The surface writes phenomenally... The whiteboard marker ink erases smoothly and quickly. There's ZERO "ghosting" (residue that accumulates from previous uses). APPEARANCE | Aesthetically, it adds beauty to my home office. I would use this at work as well. While all of the whiteboards I've owned in the past have either looked tacky or just plain boring, this one appears professional and elegant. The black glass is stunning and adds a dimension of visual interest to the space. MARKERS | Thanks to the suggestion of another reviewer, I purchased the Quartet neon markers to use with this board. Like he mentioned, these work great but do require shaking and a few pumps on the tip to get the ink flowing. However, it's not too much work and is well worth the effort. The colors really pop! It also came with one white neon marker and I'm happy to report that it's also of high quality. (I also recently ordered the Quartet Glass Whiteboard Calendar and the marker that came with it was rather unimpressive.) INSTALLATION | Assembly isn't simple by any means. I suggest having a partner assist you hanging it as it's definitely a 2-person job. A drill is almost mandatory (but perhaps a screwdriver can work if you're really determined). Plus, a leveler tool is very helpful to ensure that it's positioned strait. You may also want to buy some higher quality anchors (eg: Steel), especially if you're not able to hang the board into studs as the included ones are a little flimsy. (I'm always thinking long term.) The bolts that secure the board to the wall are very heavy duty yet have a cool industrial look that adds to the board's character. IMPROVEMENTS | The one improvement I would suggest to Quartet is to redesign the anchoring system to allow for quick and easy removal. I would like the option to be able to take it down from the wall to write on it and place it back up. Other than the obvious expense, this is the only advantage I see to cheaper/lighter standard whiteboards. While $66 is a lot to spend on a whiteboard, I believe this one will last many years and is worth the investment. If overall appearance, material quality, and longterm function are important factors to you, then I recommend this whiteboard.

Works wonderfully with the right pens - you either want the Quartet Dry-Erase Paint Markers in Neon colors or the Expo Neon Dry Erase Markers. I recommend the Expo because they're not as "wet" when writing with them and require no shaking or messing about...they feel like regular dry-erase pens and are more convenient to really work with. Expo Neon Dry Erase Markers, Bullet Tip, 5-Pack, Assorted Colors However, the colors of the Quartet paint pens are slightly more vivid if that's what really matters for you...just note you have to shake them / press-down to get the pain initially flowing. Only slightly inconvenient...not a big pain or anything. Quartet Glo-write Neon Dry-Erase Markers, Bullet Tip, Assorted Colors, 4 Pack (79551) The board itself looks excellent on my home office wall. Way cooler than a regular whiteboard which would have been an eyesore in my decor. The included magnets aren't super strong, but they easily hold they few notes you'd ever care to put up on this thing, just not a crazy ream of papers. It's a nice bonus feature. Mounting has to be very precise and you definitely need two people. But once up, it "floats" off the wall and looks amazing.

I bought this for my office at my work and everyone "oohs" & "ahhs" about it. It was about twice the price of a traditional whiteboard, but the quality and the wow factor far outweighs the extra cost. If you need a good marker, then I highly recommend Window Markers - 15mm Jumbo - 3 in 1 Nib with 28g Ink (8x more ink than others) - Pack of 8 neon chalk pens - Loved by Teachers, Kids, Artists, Businesses. Use on Chalkboard, Whiteboard, Blackboard Glass, Bistro

Shipping was a bit odd as they use a 3rd party freight shipper and not UPS, FedEx or USPS, but it is worth it as it arrives in good shape. (just putting this in so consumers are aware - i thought it was a scam when the shipper called me about a mysterious shipment). The product itself is great - well designed and cleans up nice. very solid and looks good. Two tips though: 1) The screws that come with it are horrible as are the drywall anchors... I put the anchors in and the screws just pulled right out.... on one side i was on the stud and the heads just stripped out...... so dont even try using the screws that come with it.... and that gets us to point #2. 2) Holy tight tolerances bat man! I did this the way you're supposed to.... i hung one top anchor, held the board up, had my wife put the bolt in, and then marked the position on the wall where the other top anchor should go.... the first top one was on a stud... so no moving that one.... luckily, i had decided to use Toggle Bolts for the second one... that allowed me to slightly move/adjust the bracket that the board hangs on. If not for that, i would not be able to hang it.... i then did the same for the bottom ones.. again, thank goodness i used toggle bolts which allowed me to move/adjust the anchor nuts.... its glass, so there is no give and that hole is just big enough for the bolt to go through, so no room for play or misalignment. It has to be perfectly spot on for all 4 corners.... don't even think about trying to measure, put up anchors and then hang it.... you'll play heck trying to get it mounted. So hanging it was no small feat..... but once its up, it looks fantastic and works great! Very happy with it!

I love the board, the quality, the color, and the mounting system. It also erases cleanly and easily. Overall, the black board looks way cooler than a whiteboard, and the glass looks both professional and elegant. The Quartet Dry-Erase Neon Paint Markers look awesome against the black glass. (Don't try using regular whiteboard markers; they're a complete waste of time on the black surface, as they're virtually invisible.) However, I'm sharing my experience, in hopes that you don't make the same mistake I did. If you're like me, you've had plenty of standard whiteboards, all of which eventually had problems with ghosting, or became difficult or impossible to erase over time. I was excited about this (somewhat expensive) black dry-erase board, and wanted to maximize its lifetime and prevent whatever ghosting might occur on glass. So, I decided to apply Rain-X glass treatment before I used the board. My hope was that Rain-X would seal the glass and maximize the ability to cleanly erase the board for a long time. What I didn't count on was how well the glass-sealing would work. As you can see from the "example" pic, some areas of the board turned out fine. In other areas, where the Rain-X worked the best, the marker-paint (ink?) "beads-up," turning continuous lines into a pattern of dots and dashes. You can see a particularly bad example of this in the other pic. For now, it's tolerable but annoying. On the positive side, it turns out that Rain-X works! I guess this is an example of "too much of a good thing." I'm hoping that with continuous use, the sealant will wear away, and writing will eventually display somewhat normally. If not, I may try cleaning the board with alcohol. If you're on the fence, buy the board! It's way cool to use (with the right markers). Just don't apply a sealant. Turns out, it erases fine all on its own.

we ordered the 8x4 version of this for our home office. It came in one piece although the box looked a bit beat up. Its VERY heavy and very large. Installing this was a bit of a pain simply because its so heavy. The actual glassboard itself is amazing with the surface being a solid white so that markers show up on it really well. Its also easy to erase things without ghosting. The tray that came with it fit under without any problem. I've seen a lot of commentary on here about installing it so here is how we did it. We put the top right bolt in on a stud first and connected the glassboard to it tightly. This allowed us to raise the left side and getting it leveled. Once leveled we put the bolt in the left side and drilled a pilot hole with the bolt in so we got it %100 perfect. The tolerances on this board are VERY tight so I wouldn't recommend trying to measure it out and pre-drilling holes. Once the left side was in tight, the rest was easy as we simply put each bolt in and drilled the pilot hole through, then the screw. We also put foam pads that we cut out of the packing behind the glassboard to prevent it from flexing in the middle which I recommend.

I like it. It looks classier than the average white board and suits my modern office design. But, it's really heavy and awkward to carry. I had to have it professionally installed. In the reviews I read that the magnets did not work, but they do. Overall good product. A regular white board would have been less expensive and easier to install---but you can't beat the look of this one.

i have an 8' x 4' quartet hanging in my kitchen and absolutely love it. no my kitchen is not big, the board takes up the entire wall... and almost everybody falls in love with it when they see it for the first time. i was going to do the whole chalkboard wall paint thing, but decided to try the much classier frameless whiteboard. i was so completely satisfied with my purchase that i bought two more 6' x 4' boards for my workshop brainstorming sessions. as for the brainstorming sessons, just fill the whiteboard with ideas, take a picture when done, and voila, thought's captured:)
